  1. Maher has the most annoying combination of personality traits: he’s both condescending and extremely dumb.
  2. One guy single-handedly dropped two points. Hard to pin this on the entire team. Seemed like everyone else was doing their jobs.
  3. Worst single game I’ve seen from a Pool player since Karius in the 2018 CL final. He’s been dreadful and the last two goals are entirely on him.
  4. Let’s stop talking logic and discuss actual data. This article claims the 400 richest families in America mad $1.8 trillion in income between 2010-2018 (the chart posted above is actually from 2018). That equates to an average annual income of $500 million. Stop wasting everyone’s time with bullshit distractions.
  5. Your view is that it is possible that, on average, the 400 wealthiest Americans earn less than $75k in annual income? And you believe that view is not fantasy? Okay.
  6. And you and 399 other randos could all fuck Sydney Sweeney, but the chances of that happening are vanishingly small. Your point is based on an irrelevant fantasy world.
  7. That’s unrealistic and you know it. If you have $4.5 billion and aren’t making at least $200 million in annual income just off investment returns, dividends, rents, etc., you’re an idiot and don’t deserve your money anyway. And no billionaire should ever be in a situation where their annual income only qualifies them for the bottom 50% on that measure (which would mean less than $75k), much less the 400 richest Americans as a class (which is what that chart measured). Your criticism is pedantic and ultimately meaningless. It’s a pure red herring.
  8. What a ridiculous red herring. Do you honestly believe that any billionaire, as measured by wealth, would even remotely approach the bottom 50% annual income bracket? Even assuming a modest 5% annual return on their wealth, the least wealthy billionaire would rake in $50 million, placing them somewhere within the top tiny fraction of a percent income wise. Other than weird one-offs where some mega billionaire has to sell hundreds of millions of dollars worth of stock at a paper “loss,” of course. And do you think anyone in the lower half income wise has anywhere approaching a billionaire’s accumulated wealth?
  9. That will teach Prof. Heyman to speak freely on the UT campus outside of Free Speech Week!
  10. The Cryptobro flavor of this is even more amazingly stupid. “The world will collapse and all critical infrastructure with it. No power, no telecommunications, no internet. Fiat currency will be worthless. Worthless! The only usable money will be entries on a digital ledger that can be exchanged only by running computationally intensive algorithms running on massive, power-guzzling data centers accessed over the Internet.”
  11. BriskittishTexan, imo
  12. The least shocking part of that video is that the argumentative douche was wearing sport specs.
  13. We made too many charity substitutions too early.
  14. I missed the first half but Harvey is crushing it in the second. Great effort on both his assist and goal.
  15. You’re right. I confused you with some of the fascist dipshits who post here. The implication was unwarranted. My apologies.
  16. This is what fascists do. They lie. And they do so preposterously. Orwell was a god damned prophet. The implication that “silencing Jewish students” was a goal of the protests is a lie. There were of course counterprotests which, although smaller, were not “silenced” or otherwise harassed by those protesting against Israel. And stating that the university upheld its values and mission statements is another absurd lie. This is the same university that, just last year, couldn’t shut the fuck up about how committed it was to free speech on campus. Self-congratulatory puffery about that supposed commitment is all over the UT website. But maybe I’m being too narrow minded. Maybe UT truly is committed to its core values, which only last week became obedience, capricious order, and selective rights. And maybe Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia.
  17. Good God. Kewpie dolls have come to life and they’re posting Nazi shit on Twitter!
  18. #1 - Where are you getting this understanding of women’s rights in Palestine? Are you assuming it’s the same situation there as in Saudi Arabia or Iran? Because although I’m hardly an expert, from what I can surmise based on some initial research, Palestine has been steadily progressing on women’s rights over the past few decades, enacting more liberal labor laws, harsher laws against rape, and allowing for abortions in certain circumstances #2 - Even if women were as oppressed in Palestine as you seem to assume, why should this give American women pause about protesting an invasion that is literally killing Palestinian women by the thousands? Do the oppressed not deserve life? Do the oppressors necessarily deserve death? (Be especially careful answering that last question.)
  19. If by “these assholes” you mean “DT regulars,” then I agree.
  20. War is Peace Freedom is Slavery Order is Free Speech
  21. Huh. Weird that no one can explain something that doesn’t exist.
  22. “Only people who don’t party care about injustice enough to speak out against it” is a weird fucking take.
  23. The First Amendment isn’t the only provision of the Constitution. When evaluating the circumstances under which speech is protected (and to what degree), you have to also consider other constitutional rights. That includes the Fourteenth Amendment and equal protection.
