Being part of a wakeboard group was a saving grace when it came to people knowing inboards. Only met a few over the years (when I rode a lot) that had no clue what they were doing. We watched a guy take his brand new XStar (when the pickle forks first came around) out to hit the Trinity. He didn’t ask anyone how to get to the river. Hauled ass away from the ramp and parked his boat on a massive underwater tree.
That’s terrible. When I helped start the wakeboarding group in Houston back in 2001 - we were on mostly used Ski boats with sacks and a tower. The nicest boat was a 2004 (I think) SANTE that my buddy got a deal on. Most were $30k Malibu’s or Master Crafts. I couldn’t imagine paying that for a boat. It would make being on the river more fun, as I would be terrified of hitting a tree and sinking it.
Out here on the west side of Houston - there is a n area of 99 right North of 90 that you can see far enough for cops and cars. It’s good up to 120 or so and then the road is a little wavy. [emoji15] Anyone rent an exotic for a weekend? I have absolutely no reason to buy one and don’t want to deal with the upkeep. I would, however, like to drive a Ferrari for a weekend.
Why do you get to decide what is and is not a national emergency? Three soldiers were killed on American soil by a foreign entity. That needs to be dealt with swiftly before it becomes an all out war. I’d say avoiding another all out war IS an emergency.
To strike back, he doesn’t need it. Our base was attacked. It (War Powers Resolution) provides that the president can send the U.S. Armed Forces into action abroad only by declaration of war by Congress, "statutory authorization", or in case of "a national emergency created by attack upon the United States, its territories or possessions, or its armed forces".
No President can take a way guns. Our education system has either failed or has done what it is designed to do. Congress writes and passes laws. They are the only group that can change gun laws. If Biden does it - our entire system of government changes.
Sales guy that worked for my wife died of a massive heart attack before Christmas. He was 45. He ate well, ran marathons and seemed to be in great health. Tell your co-worker to get into his docs office for stress tests, etc.
They look awesome. I want one. However, I can’t justify getting rid of my truck. I work from home. We fly for most trips. It’s a 2017 Tundra with only 85k miles. It’s paid for. There is no good reason at all to trade in.
And do what? The borders aren’t open. We have laws in place. Congress won’t pass shit on immigration and that’s where Biden’s messaging needs to be aimed.
If retired - vacation homes are much easier to own. I watched my grandparents own the family lake house and they could spend a month there. My grandfather built a second bedroom, boat house, screened in back porch, etc, etc. over those summers. They could also go up a week here and a week there just about monthly.
