  1. Never skimp on tires....ask me how I know....
  2. Get some old TRX straps with a carabiner clasp. Push down, pull back. You can do that continuously or until you meet Jeebus.
  3. The power of the fap compels you..... Dead hanging is great. Both for the strength it builds but also for the stretching. That and farmer carries - either with large kettlebells or a hex-bar. At the end of the day just do hard shit as often as you can. Sweat a lot. Sleep a lot. Drink a lot of water. And eat real food. Rucked yesterday in the hilliest part of the neighborhood and it had to be 100+ degrees outside. That's a kick in the dick. 2 miles. 35 minutes. 50lbs.
  4. This is great - they are far and away my favorite brand. My two+ decade old Seamaster will forever be my favorite.

  6. This is the end game - when interest paid on debt eclipses yearly GDP.....we have a problem.
  7. We were in San Diego a few weeks back and off the road, tucked back between two hotels has an I&O, it was so packed that at certain times, the drive-though line blocked the entrance to the hotel parking lot. Those things print money. That this was the 1st closure in more than 7 decades begs the question it was more than just poor location planning.
  8. In-N-Out Burger is closing its Oakland location permanently due to safety concerns related to ongoing crime in the area. This is the first time in the company's 75-year history that it has closed a location. The closure, effective March 24, 2024, is a result of frequent and severe incidents of car break-ins, property damage, theft, and armed robberies affecting both customers and employees, according to a statement from In-N-Out.
  9. A Korth, hell yeah. Not sure what makes them so special, but I'd "take" one if offered.
  10. Had dinner down in Deep Ellum over the weekend. Triple-D visited, Mexican food place 'Pepe and Mitos'. Great, great food. Found a spent 9mm casing in one of those paid parking lots. Every city has places where you have to be dialed in and very much aware of your surroundings. We were in Memphis on a recent college recruiting trip. Stayed downtown at the Peabody. Walked all over, down by the river, etc. Stepped around a few cracked out sidewalk zombies, but otherwise felt fine. Zoo was epic, and that area near it reminded me on the M-streets in Dallas. I'd steer clear of Beale street at night, but you could say the same for 6th in Austin
  11. In the Pantheon of parental pain around kids sports, cheer mom's can say a big fuck you to the rest of us. 6-8 hours for a two minute routine. Nope. They sit atop the mountain of "fuck this shit" supreme. Dad's I know don't even go anymore. They're out. Disney was fun for the kids. I preferred the rides at Universal.
  12. Lol. The massive cooler under the table isn't visible. The "beer pumpkin" was just to get everyone's attention. Definitely a conversation starter and a good way to meet new neighbors.
  13. Check the first page....
  14. Can't get enough of "We have ways of making you talk" WWII podcast. Two British guys. One is a historian and the other a comedian that happens to know his stuff. They turn out a ton of content, do long series formats and keep each episode close to an hour.
  15. My little Weber tailgater is indestructible. 20+ years old, great for burgers, dogs, etc. Last Halloween I had a bunch of leftover jalapeno & cheese venison sausage so I made a "Dad zone" at the house to hang out while their kids ran around the neighborhood. I bet we had a dozen guys in lawn chairs and went through most of the sausage and beer. *pumpkin is full of ice
  16. Alpha man Suburban hero Don't you already have an oven in your house?
  17. How is this news? It didn't "suddenly" become credible. Josh Rogin wrote and entire book about this. It was brought up at the time and dismissed away as wild conspiracy. In the wake of the SARS outbreak teams were actively investigating bats and potential viruses. The issue was the containment lab in Wuhan. The US Embassy Health and Science personnel sent three teams from 2017-2018 to meet with WIV scientists, including the infamous "Bat Lady". Upon learning how dangerous the understaffed lab was, two additional cables were sent to DC. Then Wuhan scientists themselves were hospitalized in 2019 with Covid-like symptoms US officials at the Beijing Embassy prompted alerts from the lab about a series shortage of trained technicians to safely operate such a high-containment lab. When it did "leak" into the open, the original scientists claiming it came from the wild were vested Chinese from the lab itself. It was EcoHealth head Peter Daszak that sent the original letter back to the US mirroring this narrative who's own scientists were working in tandem with them and tied together. GOF specifically, which Obama blocked domestically back in 2014, was being partially funded in China by the NIH.
  18. Doesn't A&M have that trademarked?
  19. I suffered through YEARS of it with both kids.
