  1. I floated out the following and I'll put it here for thought. I've previously found spaces in restaurants/bars for groups as part of a "tailgate" plan. Typically, less sports bar more local bar/restaurants tend to be more amenable to non-home team fans and affordable. In short, find a place we can all meet in the 11-2 range, eat some lunch, watch early games and have libations prior to heading to a actual tailgate closer to the stadium or wherever. I'm not at all tied to the idea, but have reached out to get an idea of price for space and potentially food. I'll report back cost here and gage interest from folks traveling in the thread.
  2. Fair, no offense take nor ill will perceived. One of us was wrong.
  3. Out side of But I'm a Cheerleader (haven't seen) I like everything on you list too for 1999. Mystery Men, Stuart Little, Ghost Dog: Way of the Samuri, The Minute Man, Big Daddy, Any Given Sunday, Analyze This, Ratcatcher, Romance (brutal), and Eyes Wide Shut (arguably good/bad but interesting either way) Yeah 1999 is damn strong. I like Bicentennial Man, maybe more than I should but I absolutely love Robin Williams in more serious roles like Insomnia, The Night Listener, Awakenings, Being Human, Good Will Hunting and my personal favorite The Fisher King. Then 1994 brings me right back with Legends of the Fall, Air Heads, Heavenly Creatures, Clear and Present Danger, Speed, Hoop Dreams (holy shit I forgot about that), Quiz Show, Crumb, The Lion King, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Ed Wood, The Client and Little Women.
  4. We talked about the Netflix series in the main aggie thread in football. Its pretty amusing. Waiting for them and Mississippi State to boycott Netflix. Oh wait, MSU isn't crying about only showing a loss on the series. Never mind.
  5. I looked at the weekend before. Titans play New England that Sunday in Nashville. Not really sure why you felt compelled to express a simple error that way, but you do you.
  6. Texas A&M fans, as with most college football fans, have about had it with the obeisance and hagiography of Arch Manning by the national media My dear Graham you are per chance apt to mislay your assemblage with aforesaid variegated verbosity.
  7. Kentucky is know for bourbon, horses and hillbilly hijinx which is two thirds of the fuel that drives Aussies. So, invariably.
  8. A man must have a code.
  9. And an error from the other page... Blue GRASS Parkway is a relatively short but fantastic longer way in from Louisville but an incredible drive. Since I'm on about cars, it is a hike from Lexington but the Corvette Museum is down in Bowling Green. You could hit it on the way from Nashville to Lexington if you choose to visit Nashville on the trip. If you want to make a longer trip out of it Nashville is about a 3 hr drive to Lexington. Unfortunately, Titans are playing away that Sunday. There will be far more flight options into Nashville. Since I'm on flight options Cincinnati is 2 hrs so its a 3rd option. All 3 will be scenic drives but Nashville and Cincinnati are largely Interstate to Lexington.
  10. Hah, doh! Indeed. I intended Blue Grass Parkway Sorry.
  11. Seems like a pretty solid plan. We should let Sark know.
  12. I am confident I've gotten to the bottom of the issue. I know exactly how to alleviate your problems. 💯
  13. Not only that he's got directly family that played QB in the NFL fairly recently, where hating on a QB is absolutely worse than any college including Texas. That's a support system that almost no QB has ever had prior. Add that to a logical, methodic process which was clearly strongly supported by his family and it puts Arch in a fantastic place. Sark, his team, his friends outside the team, family and access to any mental health assistance he could possibly want is frankly a dream for a college QB. Arch is 100% aware, as are his family of the certainty, not possibility, but guaranteed slams in the media and select fans the first time he falters or takes even a minor mistake. Being mentally aware and prepared in advance by family who know exactly what it will feel like is an advantage that many of us can't even fully understand. How many people have a family member in a public position that can prep them for success and the aftermath of failure in their chosen fields. That did the exact same job. A few coaches and politicians is all I can come up with that have experienced that reality.
  14. I only watched the Texas v Vandy and Texas v aggie ones. 5 and 6 iirc. Besides the aggie fail joy, it gives a bit of the flavor of the coaches and team. Of what I saw Beamer seems the most level headed and relatable of all of them. Also, his wife is pretty damn hot. Lebby felt like he was in way over his head but the team results certainly had a part in that. Lea came off as very good at maintaining a game face and competent coach but it felt like there was some shit brewing below. Elk came off, far and away, as the biggest choade, to no one's suprise here. Pavia came off as an entitled POS. They absolutely glossed over the complete drubbing aggie took in the tackle box. Really only showing the 2 turn overs and I think both Texas TDs. However, its clear Texas AD said hard pass as there was zero Texas engagement on the series. Georgia and Bama seemed the same but I didnt watch them all.
  15. Not only that, but the assumption that it's easy to "talk yourself into" aggie being a dark horse candidate in the SEC??? Not if you have paid any attention to them or their results/performance at any point for say... the past 10-100 years.
  16. Taurean York first bitching about Texas coaching staff not giving him time of day was the first highlight. Particularly, after they flew a helicopter to Temple and his coach asked him to sit in the office while his team mate was recruited seems questionable all around. Then the old fat white lady gushing on York for having "sacked both quarterbacks" after the loss was extremely aggie. Elko came off as an absolute dick, but you could tell he was throwing in some "I relate to these players" shtick for the cameras at a couple of points.
  17. She's walking, sadly sooner rather than later. Coffee zilla is killing it. 🤬
  18. Heathers, Drug Store Cowboy, Say Anything, War of the Roses and Sex, Lies, Video Tape are some great sleepers from 1989. "Greetings and Salutations" I used that line for the better part of a decade.
  19. I brought up Krull on the recruiting thread in regards to Kreul about 2 days ago. Krull is umm.. a cult classic but it's not um... great.
  20. Hits way, way too close to home.
  21. I dunno man. I'm gonna end up watching some of these movies over and over. 1994 is really hard to argue against. Forest Gump, Shawshank, The Professional, Clerks, Pulp Fiction, NBK, Ace Ventura, Dumb and Dumber and The Crow is a really great, broad selection that I've already gotten a lot of mileage out of prior. 1971 has a lot to offer 1999 is selected by a lot of people. Fight Club, The Matrix, American Beauty, The Green Mile, Being John Malkovich, Man on the Moom, Office Space, Boone Dock Saints, Galaxy Quest, Phantom Menance, Austin Powers and Bicentennial Man are all very re-watchable. I think I'm torn between 1994 and 1999.
  22. Not Murican' nor manly enough for aggie.
  23. Sure, but wait until we pull in our girl friends.
  24. I truly hope you're wrong but put near zero faith in that hope. I could just copy and paste that quote from Ron Filipokowski for what is likely to happen if she walks. "I have no idea. That's not my area. It happens all the time. You need to ask whoever runs that department." Like a fucking produce worker at a grocery store when you ask them where to find spices.
  25. Agree that injuries in 2024 and 2025 seriously hurt his draft stock, but performance, even if while hurt, also factors in to the equation. Agree that getting him that late and making the 53 would be a huge win for Quinn and the Dolphins. I really don't see him getting a ton of snaps in 2025 at QB3 so injury is obviously less likely. However, given health issues ahead of him certainly not impossible.
