  1. This. The ability and privilege to travel, experience other cultures, and understand what people in different parts of the world experience is going to most likely be higher if you grow up wealthier and (often) better educated. That inherently means to me that you are in less of a bubble. But I’m just a second generation upper class white guy. Big lol
  2. AI Overview +3 A government that prosecutes political enemies is often described as an authoritarian state or a dictatorship, where the justice system is weaponized to suppress dissent, rather than uphold the rule of law. In such a system, law enforcement and judicial powers are used for political retaliation and to eliminate political competition. This is in contrast to a democracy, where prosecutions should be based on evidence and non-partisan policies, not political motives.
  3. So their premise is that “mainstream” American culture is poor and working class and those people live in less of a bubble? That seems…flawed.
  4. Felt like it
  5. What? I mean, literally, what? He want the DOJ to just pay him a random sum? wtf is going on here? https://www.nytimes.com/2025/10/21/us/politics/trump-justice-department-compensation.html
  6. That is incredible. And to think Stroh would be even worse (well, as bad I guess). How has it come to this?
  7. Don't let's be silly.
  8. He just sounds like he's being forthright to me. Honestly, I don't care if this guy gets elected or not. I'm more just reacting to your insinuation that a job interviewee being honest and open is a bad thing. Perhaps it's because I'm currently interviewing for jobs at the moment, but I have always hated the idea that you have to not be yourself in an interview and should play the game to say what you think the employer is wanting to hear. Frankly, it's insulting to the intelligence of the employer.
  9. I'm about halfway through right now.
  10. Yeah, I hate when people are genuine and talk like human beings instead of telling you what you want to hear.
  11. I just watched the interview with Tommy Vietor. It seems clear this guy had some ignorant and terrible ideas when he was a young infantryman, shocker. But he seems to have had a lot of self-reflection and broadened his world view. I think people can change, so he gets the benefit of the doubt from me. Again, I don't live in Maine, so it doesn't fall to me to vote for him anyway. Have you ever seen American History X? Seems like that could apply here.
  12. Do you live in Maine?
