  1. I have no doubt Ewers will give us the shot in the arm that will lead us to a decent season(8-4). If you score 30+ points in a game you should win every time and we will do that with Ewers. The issue is that Sark looks like he’s with PK until he is forced by Del Conte to fire him. That defense is the thing that’s going to hold us back from getting to where we want to be unless the scheme philosophy changes. The talent is there. The strategy not so much. I just don’t know who we get to replace him if Patterson is not interested in getting that involved
  2. Agree with this and I agree with everyone wanting to fire everybody after losing to a bunch of scrubs. Sark needs a defense that focuses on putting pressure on the QB with DBs that can handle man coverage. It would be a perfect complement to his offense that puts a lot of points on the board placing teams in position to abandon the run. PK dropping eight in coverage without the threat of a blitz isn’t going to do anything but let other teams dink and dunk on us for 3 to 4 yard gains and keep the ball away from Sark’s offense. I like Sark. I know I’m in the growing minority but I believe he can be the right coach for Texas. If he refuses to get rid of PK, however, we will doing this whole process again in a few years.
  3. TEXAS-42 tortillas-10 Wr-158yds(Card) if Ewers was playing-225yds
  4. Yes. We all misinterpreted the sacred mspaint. They haven’t made it to October yet.
  5. Yeah I’m one of the 14 that picked Texas. Not because I necessarily thought they would be one of the 4 best teams at the end of the year but I thought winning the big 12 with our only loss being to Bama would get us in over just about anyone else not named Alabama or Ohio St. Needless to say, I was very pleasantly surprised by the performance of our team especially the defense. If that’s the defense we play with all year I’m even more confident that they will make it to the playoffs this year.
  6. TEXAS 47 UTSA 16 235 yards allowed bonus 2 interceptions
  7. Totally disagree with the bolded. This defense with even 75% of the effort it put out vs bama will win the next two games by themselves. Throw in the face that UTSA and tech don’t have the defense we just faced and the running backs will have a field day. Card isn’t at the same level as Ewers but I think the Alabama game might have finally gotten him over his tendency to turtle up under pressure. He leans on Bijan and connects on a few passes we will be in good shape.
  8. Alabama (13-0)- This just seems to be one of those years no one will be close to them Ohio State(13-0)- They will take a step back but no one on their schedule is good enough to give them issues USC(12-1)- Lincoln Riley will dominate the PAC. I think Utah, to their credit, has racked up wins against weak PAC 12 competition. That's about to change. Texas(12-1)- They have completely overhauled their roster and appear to have improved in almost every key position. The defense will be improved and a lot of those Casey Thompson fans are going to realize how much more production Sark can get out of the QB position when they see Ewers play. OU sux got worse, Okie st got worse, Baylor got worse. Georgia may end up being a better team but Texas final record along with a conference championship will get them in.
  9. If Saturday was any indication, letting Casey Thompson go to Nebraska may be the biggest halftime adjustment he can make all year.
  10. Side note: I really hope Bijan is the focus of our offense this year. Sark should set a goal for him to average 200 all purpose yards every game so he can have a chance to win the Heisman.
  11. I’ve been a Sark fan ever since the first time it was rumored he might be our head coach. He is clearly using his experience he gained with Saban to help build the talent of the team and culture of the program. I think given time he will have us back to 9-10 win seasons as the floor of our program. Texas fans have just been burnt so bad by chuckles and Mensa that they can’t let themselves see that we have a potential long term coach in Sark.
  12. Could definitely see them going 6-2 coming out of that stretch then finishing 6-6 after that last 4. Casey Thompson will be responsible for all their wins but, of course, will have nothing to do with the loses.
  13. Casey still under throwing passes which was his problem here. That running back for Nebraska is going to be a problem
  14. Texas 56 ULM 14 Bijan gets 185 total yards (140 rushing 45 receiving).
  15. If this is the case and the two are close then Ewers should be named the starter on Monday so they can spend the next three weeks focusing on getting him ready for the season. Card has been a good solider but it’s time to move on and unite behind one QB.
  16. 11 wins. The team will play better this year and a lot of teams in the Big 12 will take a step back. Last year's team competed in almost every game and on talent alone should have won 9-10 games. Their mental makeup and poor attitude towards the end of the season is what caused them to finish 5-7. I believe a lot of that mentality has been shipped out the door. Qb, WR, TE, and O-Line should all be better and the defense should get to at least average with the players they brought in.
  17. This here. I doubt Texas and Ousux came in with a lot of demands but I would guess this was one of the handful they might have had.
  18. I think you’ll find most Texas fans are indifferent to what happens to the Big12. Unlike aggy or Nebraska, the move to the SEC isn’t about trying to one up anyone or prove that we can survive on our own. The SEC move is about money, recruiting and exposure nothing more and nothing less. I think the new Big12 should be a stable and competitive conference with only Kansas and West Virginia as possibilities of leaving if given the chance. The biggest concern should be if the level of recruiting takes a hit and the product on the field suffers. Whoever takes over as commissioner should be working every angle to get cbs to broadcast games. That’s the only way the league will stay in the spotlight on a national level.
  19. I think there’s going to be schools supporting the 9 conference games in public but behind closed doors are going to be hesitant to lose an extra home cupcake game to increase their win total. I would not be surprised if we end up with two divisions instead of the obvious choice of a 3-6-6 schedule that all the fans and players would love.
