  1. last lambo I drove certainly lived up to it's heritage as a tractor producer. least exciting exotic car I have ever driven, and I really wanted to love it.
  2. pretty much the size of it. the martinis were cool and tasty. the food is below average, but acceptable college eats.
  3. wow. that guy needs an ass kicking, and the league should go after him for reimbursement. ridiculous.
  4. pepper jr became the first in the league this year to hit a bomb. crazy to see how har you have to hit it in 50 degree weather, slow pitching, and USA bats. It was definitely a "no doubter".
  5. that article is from 2003 before they released HOW to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb. Not recent at all.
  6. i'm a total homer, but I disagree pretty strongly on this. 2000 album All That You Can't Leave Behind was fantastic, and 2004 How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb was as well. Both were sort of a "return to their roots" style. I was not a huge fan of No Line on the Horizon mainly because they claimed it was an "experimental" album, but really it wasn't and frankly was just boring. Songs of Innocence..meh….Song of Experience was better than I expected. Had a few great songs, and some whiny shit I didn't care for much. They're clearly past their prime, but Bono will be 60 this year. I don't expect another Joshua Tree or Achtung, or even ATYCHLB, but I won't be shocked if they put out something with a few kick ass tracks. If they can get out of their own way and make some rock inspired tracks and stop trying to be so ultra sensitive/philosophical about their message they can still churn out a great album. I think. We shall see.
  7. So true. Starbucks coffee is pure horse piss. Just utterly terrible.

sad to report I went to Spanish Village for some Enchiladas a la Taylor about a week ago on a cold and rainy day. Food was total dogshit. Pretty sure they gave me a plate of food that was left over from the previous night or day, and just reheated it as my lunch. it was most certainly not fresh. Salsa wasn't hot and spicy like normal. beans were reheated left overs from the day(s) before. the whole thing just sucked. so sad it was so shitty. I was literally the only customer the entire time I was there. On the positive side I finally made it to Candente and thought it was really damn good. everything seemed fresh and homemade. I really enjoyed my food there.
  9. no official word it seems, but I won't be surprised if the dawn of the U2 station on XM that is set to launch at some point this year is accompanied by a new album, or at least some new music.
  10. atta boy! will be out there soon. glad you're back in the game!
  11. heading out there tonight. Hoping for a better season is a fairly low bar. season could be markedly better than the last, but still be terrible. hopefully the guys have gotten stronger and new coaching is going to help.
  12. i'm not liking this. at all. any shortcomings are maybe logistics, but not quality craftmanship. there is a place for your talent to be profitable in the BBQ business. I don't know where or when that will be, but I am certain it will happen if you can stick with it and not be discouraged. and I get being discouraged. whatever happens, if you're slinging meat anywhere nearby, you have my support and I will be there consuming as much of your que as possible. keep an eye on the new taco restaurant in west u. el toco or whatever. my feeling is that space will be available sooner rather than later. you could make a mint there. I am sure rent would be rough, but people aren't gonna scoff at paying $25.00 per lb for brisket when the alternative is $20.00 at goode co.
  13. exactly. I am certain they do not use smoke at all despite the wood pile. The sausage coated in that neon orange sauce is edible. Everything else there is ass. brisket, ribs, chicken and sides are all absolutely the worst excuse for "bbq" imaginable. I suspect the place stays open due to all those all codgers who have been hanging out at that bar daily since 1978.
  14. did anyone ever actually think tesla was going to manufacture a better overall machine than Porsche? I mean, c'mon man. Interesting that in real world driving conditions the mileage on the Taycan is considerable better than advertised as well. Hell 278 miles is better than I get from a tank (24 gallons)in my Panamera GTS.
  15. Some car and driver updates on real world testing on the taycan v Tesla. Porsche Taycan versus Tesla Model S Performance (Raven) results from Car And Driver:
  16. I wish I had the answer to this. The food you served yesterday out of a makeshift small kitchen is of a quality that I would be stunned if not commercially viable at a profit. I simply cannot imagine a scenario where that brisket, ribs, pulled pork, brisket grilled cheese, pimento cheese, greens, potato salad and fried okra cannot be sold at a profit while shithole places like Luling City Market at the corner of Richmond and loop 610 turn out literally some of the worst excuse for "bbq" on the planet and have somehow made it for 25+ years. How can this be? How can, and I like these people but their que is terrible, Charlies BBQ make it, and there not be a market for exceptionally cooked artisan bbq and sides? I simply refuse to believe this can happen. The correct answer is obviously, location and real estate terms that allow for a place to thrive. Quality of food sometimes has nothing to do with it. it still baffles me. then again, I am part of the problem as I frequent Molina's near my house simply because it is near me house. It isn't terrible, but no way it is good either. it is 1/4 mile from my house, it is fast, and it has tequila.
  17. I didn’t check on any big red ice cream, but damn that brisket, ribs and brisket grilled cheese and fried okra was just what I needed today. Legit as always. Hope many of you made it over.
  18. sounds like addition by subtraction to me 😉
  19. is it possible that I am repulsed by the organization setting up camera's, etc to steal signs, but have no issue whatsoever with the players receiving a signal for stolen signs? Hear me out. Sign stealing is, has been and always will be part of the game. this is not in question. there is no way to stop this. it is absolutely a part, a very big part, of the game. I simply do not have an issue with signs being stolen and players alerted. not at all. I do not consider anyone who has received knowledge of pitches via signs stolen as a "cheater". theres not a single player who's every played in an MLB game who has not received some form of sign alerting them of something the defense or pitcher is about to do. none. It's no different from a football game where the defense sees the offensive alignment, knows the play based on that, or from their calls at the LOS, and audibles into the correct defense accordingly. HOWEVER, I have an issue when you are using "unnatural" means of collecting the data. That part is cheating. 100%.
  20. yeah. this doesn't really work at this level especially given the egos of the guys involved. this isn't some pony league tournament team.
  21. guy who played Opie from Sons of Anarchy would be a perfect casting IMO.
  22. yeah. at 9/10 firs tyear of kid pitch it will be mostly about 38-45. you will get some kids who crank it up to low 50's. my son threw mid 50's at that age. it was pretty unfair for most of the kids who had to face him.
  23. and this is a microcosm of our programs. The potential for excitement is the fact that all 3 major sports may possibly need ANOTHER rebuild within the next 18 months. good lord. we suck. at everything.
