  1. How about this: Rome>Siena>Cinque Terre>Florence>Rome? Yes, I watched rick steves this weekend and the cinque terre seems like a must (and better than venice???). Plan on airb&b/etc for everywhere except Rome. Also, can all of that be done via train/public transportation? I dont want to rent a car unless i have to.
  2. Love seeing some activity in this thread. The wrestle off in Round Rock was awesome, i think around 1300 folks showed up. The wrestling community was going crazy saying that Texas outdrew IA, NJ, PA, etc with the final x wrestle offs. It was good enough that we have the Sr. Nationals in ft worth later this year. Season is getting ready to start...my boys go to Iowa next month for pre-season nationals, time to start cutting weight. Where did you wrestle in missouri? One of our coaches wrestled in HS there and at Mizzu, I'll see him tonight at practice. I think he went to park hill??
  3. Im going to get an older shelby or something to satisfy my mid-life crisis, they learn manual shifting with that. Pretty sure I'm going with what i mentioned earlier. Neither give a shit what they drive and school/wrestling are the only places they go and both are a couple miles from the house. I am curious about getting liability only coverage. I dont see why I wouldnt do that, right? Wouldnt that save significant $$?
  4. Has anyone fished B'bow/Mountain Fork lately? Taking the crew up this weekend and was hoping to put the kids on some fish, any fish.
  5. I have done: PT-no help (although i do have an inversion table and i do lightweight box squats, those are the only things that can head off an "episode" when i feel one coming on) injections-temporary help microdiscectomy and laminectomy-4-5 years of 75-80% relief/help fusion is in my near future have heard about stem cell treatment, very interested. As far as how mine happened, it wasnt a specific injury. I have mild scoliosis but played football for 11 years, I'm sure that attributed to it.
  6. Ended up at Brotherton's, good call. Wasnt too crowded and everything on the menu was available. Everyone in the group ordered something different and passed stuff around. Brisket was solid, ribs were good. Jap sausage was good too. The sandwiches were really good. The only real let down was a shitty beer selection.
  7. little bump...buying in the next few weeks. narrowed it to altima, mazda 6, kia optima and ford fusion. looking 2014-2016. im guessing those are all good enough? they all have 5* crash ratings. also found a 1992 eddie bauer bronco for the youngest, im buying it and enjoying it for a year before he gets it.
  8. Ok, i might just leave this thread alone if no more participation. We are driving down early tomorrow to Round Rock for Dake v Ringer wrestle off. Supposedly there are over 700 tickets sold. I can wait, arguably two of the best wrestlers in the world. If anyone doesnt have anything to do in the morning, go to round rock high school at 1:00 to watch!
  9. I am very biased, but wrestling is the answer. PA is the best place in the nation for wrestling. girls wrestling is the fastest growing high school sport in the country. two of my kids old club coaches have moved to that area and are coaching wrestling.
  10. so, im hearing brothertons for lunch and mueller for dinner (beef ribs)?
  11. driving down either tonight or early tomorrow so we could make it to snow's. i was wondering about brotherton...you would suggest that over mueller?
  12. ill be in round rock for one night this weekend and will have a group of folks wanting bbq. my first thought was just to drive to snow's but if there are good options closer, im open. not interested in salt lick...should we just drive over to taylor for LMueller or is snow's the right answer?
  13. My only input is that Neal McDonough is the best actor on that show by a long way. My other comment...Beth's tits should be shown in every episode.
  14. ok, i took yalls advice and talked with the boy tonight, he is wanting to go for architecture, art, etc. so now im thinking rome-train to florence maybe parma? bologna? i think he would enjoy tuscany too. maybe do that loop and back to rome? has anyone ever read Playing for Pizza? I want to do what he did...travel to small towns, hang in the piazza and eat/drink local. also, you have talked me into extending it, think we will make it 10-14 days (not including travel)
  15. exactly. since i first saw that, i have always cut my garlic with a razor blade.
  16. Ok, I'm still unsure what to do. Planning on 7-10 days in Italy next summer. This is a family trip and it is for my oldest son's graduation (Italy was his pick). It almost seems like we need to pick either southern or northern Italy or could we do both in that time frame? Seems like flying in/out of Rome is the best choice and that would give us 1-2 days there to hit the highlights. Amalfi Coast looks awesome but so does lake Como. Is the group think we should pick between N/S and go?
  17. I respect you as a human, however, after this, i am agreeing to the knife fight. p.s. brand new brass tap opened 2 blocks from my house...they have ayinger octoberfest on tap.
  18. we need to fight. the ancient monks brewed marzens to please the gods, they knew what they were doing. no sour, fruity, shit to please the gods of the land.
  19. first neg i have ever dropped on shag/surl. correct answer showed up where? my ayingerradar hasnt picked up on it yet. sam at lone star bev always saves me a case and i havent heard from him yet.
  20. Find a youth wrestling club (let me know where you are and i'll find one near you).
  21. Kid grew up as my neighbor. Dad groomed him for this. Mom and dad are solid kid was a wreck young but really grew up. Has always had ton of talent. Glad he is ours. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Our school = I guess that sounded like it's UT's fault since he isnt taking AP, didnt mean it that way. He took lots of AP, Pre-AP classes his fres/soph year. He has AP calc this year. What i didnt expound on was that the ap english, etc. was the same as on level but shit tons of homework. He loves math and science and has all the pre and AP courses, however, it was killing him on all the homework. Kept his straight A's but not getting any sleep. Once he realized he isnt in the top 7% he gave up on UT and decided he would pull back on pushing himself so hard. He will graduate between 10-20% and will be around 1400 SAT so not worried about college. I'm just echoing others on here about how they let me in 30 years ago and he is 100X a better student than i was.
  23. 2 boys, jr and frosh. Both are straight A students but not 10% (p.s. our district just announced they are doing away with class rankings...wtf?). Oldest has had his heart set on UT since he was very young but i dont see it happening. Its crazy, straight A's, good test scores but nope. We are looking at Tech, Arkie, ACU and who knows where else. They dont take any AP courses due to athletic time commitments, i guess thats going to screw them on UT.
  24. hey @markstanco how about the st. walburg inn, saskatchewan? drank lots of kokanee, eh!
