  1. He almost always uses the pronouns “I” or “me” and rarely the pronoun “we”. He very clearly thinks this race is for him, and his wife is only there because people on the race are required to have another person with them. This episode he was blaming her for the haystack saying “you picked a bad challenge.” Then he parked like a dumbass and said “I have the worst luck on this race.”
  2. What’s the spin that the conservative websites are putting on Trump’s change in tone re: China? It was a high stakes game of chicken that Trump started and he is now the first to back down. He swore he would make a deal with China and now he is backtracking with no deal in place, while Xi stood firm. It took less than a month to break him. How does a Trump supporter look at this as anything other than Trump being a dumbass pussy that got in over his head and got outplayed at his own stupid game?
  3. Is it possible for any of the prisoners to get a voucher and get upgraded to a $34k/month prison that also teaches them about the Ten Commandments?
  4. Nothing you described sounds like the marriage is completely beyond hope, so counseling seems like the obvious answer. Sometimes things just get off track and y’all have had some hard shit to deal with. Does she sense that something is lacking? You need to have some straight conversations with each other, and let her know in a non-accusatory way that you want to improve things. Tell her you care about her and your combined happiness and the wellbeing of your family, and ask if she’s open to counseling.
  5. As a parent of a young child, I worry about that on a daily basis. We’ve worked hard to build a good life for ourselves and provide a good future for our kid here, but maybe that was all for naught. I’m constantly doing the mental calculus on what it would mean to start from scratch in new country. Leave our family and friends, give up our jobs, our home, everything that’s ever been considered normal to us. How bad does American life have to get before pulling that ripcord? I’m angry about the open oppression of minorities, immigrants, and trans people. I’m angry that our president talks about claiming Greenland by any means necessary and tries to rewrite history about Putin’s war on Ukraine. I’m angry that the orange man thinks tariffs are a viable economic strategy. I’m angry that education and medicine and science and the rule of law are under attack. I’m angry that our congress has rolled over and does nothing to slow the power grab of the executive branch. As bad as those things are, what really concerns me is the possibility of economic ruin, civil war, revolution, or just the general idea that America has forsaken its values. That’s not a future I want for my child. It blows my mind that I have to worry about that, but here we are.
  6. I actually appreciate it and those houses look nice.
  7. I would say something along the lines of “the world needs Christian ditch diggers,” except that I’m starting to think the entire country will be in anarchy and civil war by that point, so maybe I shouldn’t lose too much sleep over school vouchers. A $10k voucher is meaningless when Trump runs Powell out and replaces him with a sycophant that drives inflation up and eggs cost $192/dozen. It’s like worrying about the wine offerings as the Titanic is sinking. The priority should be finding a life boat or anything that might float.
  8. Is there any language about what types of private schools can qualify for the voucher funds? We are currently watching Harvard, one of the most prestigious private academic institutions in the history of the world, battle our federal government for its future due to not sharing Trump’s values. Once the Texas state government, which aspires to be as MAGA as possible, starts making payments to private K-12 schools, does anyone really think those schools will remain in control of their own curriculum and values?
  9. Once the Trump administration ships enough good folks down to El Salvador, we’ll be able to start a new movement and Make El Salvador Great Again. It won’t matter what happens to America because all the dissenters will be part of MESGA.
  10. So now the Trump administration is withholding $2.2B in funding to Harvard? I fully expect the next step is to revoke the visa for every international student and faculty member.
  11. I wanted to watch the 60 Minutes piece but also wanted an anxiety-free Sunday night so it’s saved for tomorrow. But now I’m even more excited. It feels like we’re watching a crazy person come completely unhinged, and unfortunately, that crazy person is currently our president. He’s a bully picking fights with anyone and everyone and eventually he’s going to find himself on the losing end of things.
  12. What an incredible finish. Happy for Rory.
  13. It’s a shame that Trump’s buddy Bryson got such high tariffs on his putting game today.
  14. This is going to be a fun day.
  15. It would just be nice to live in a world where leaders could recognize a mistake and make a good faith effort on both sides to reunite this man with his wife and autistic son. I think every presidential administration in history would do that until now. Trump could get a big PR win out of returning him home but they won’t do that because it undermines their effort to instill fear, which is one of the goals. If this family ever gets reunited, they need to immediately look for a better country to flee to. Change names 3 times and become cattle ranchers in New Zealand.
  16. Maybe Greg Abbott could also give the Greenlanders some private school* vouchers using Texas property taxes. *private school must not engage in antisemitism, DEI, or acknowledge any ideological values that don’t align with white Christian nationalism
  17. So the same people who decided a legal immigrant was part of MS-13 because he wore a Chicago Bulls hoodie will now be deciding which social media posts constitute antisemitism and therefore worthy of going to El Salvador? What’s next? Facial recognition to figure out who attends an anti-Trump rally?
  18. The surprising thing is that they stayed open close to 2 years.
  19. The Dubai leg was pretty cool. Would’ve liked to see all the teams do the scuba challenge, but it was still good. I liked Pops and Jeff and was sad to see them go. Old man is ripped. Hesitating for that train was a fatal mistake. I actually like all of the remaining teams except Jonathan and Ana.
  20. That was a great season. It also had the NFL cheerleaders and Mallory/Gary. Lots of fun teams. Didn’t Kynt/Vixen drive about 2 hours the wrong direction when they got eliminated? Like record time for being horribly lost in TAR history. They were a pretty bad team that somehow managed to avoid elimination longer than they should’ve, kinda like the Hillbillies in their season.
  21. Not only were they in first, but they had assigned 25 lbs to their 3 biggest competitors, and only 15 lbs to themselves. Getting to the Driver’s Seat first should’ve all but guaranteed winning the leg without extra help.
  22. If Jonathan and Ana had not foolishly burned their Express Pass when they were easily in first place, they could have used it in this leg where he struggled, no?
