  1. Gamescom '25 started out with confirmation that Silksong is finally releasing this year. Developers are streaming a "special announcement" tomorrow, which is widely expected to be an official release date. For the uninitiated, Silksong is the sequel to Hollow Knight, one of the most successful and beloved indie games of all time, developed by a team of just 3 guys in Australia. It originally was planned as a DLC expansion to HK, but the developers raised a ton of Kickstarter money and decided to make it a full sequel. That was in 2019. A teaser trailer was released back in 2022, and since then there has been almost complete radio silence from the developers. The rabid fanbase would get their hopes up for news at every single gaming convention, Nintendo direct showcase, Xbox Showcase...etc. and always be left disappointed. R/silksong has close to 175K members posting daily and it eventually became a meme that Silksong was simply a mass-delusion that didn't actually exist.
  2. Spent the past 8 days in Aspen area. Never got above 85 and humidity was usually around 15% in the afternoon. Typically high 50's on the short walk into town for coffee in the mornings. Almost every single one of my last 20+ meals were eaten outside. Current "feels like" in Houston is 101. Man this is rough to come back to after a nice vacation.
  3. Pretty obvious that Espada was unwilling to use Abreu or Hader tonight, no matter the scenario. Glad it worked out (just barely).
  4. 7-2 with 2 outs and no one on and scrub relievers give up HR, 2B, 2B, HR, 1B before finally heading into the dugout with a meager 7-6 lead. Pathetic.
  5. Historically speaking, tomorrow is the last day before the worm starts to turn ever so slowly, at least in regard to average daily highs and lows. From 7/29-8/12, we're at the peak daily average of 96/77 (this is for Houston). Typically, that drops to 95/76 from 8/13-8/22, then 94/75 starting 8/23 and so forth. Over the next 3 weeks or so, we'll drop an average of 1 degree off the average high and low every 7-8 days, before speeding up to every 5-6 days once we get into September.
  6. Just a brutal forecast. I hope I survive.
  7. Blubaugh pumping 97 and 98 on some big K's to end the past 2 innings.
  8. Haven't bought a new dress watch since buying my current TAG 7 years ago, but I've had my eyes on a Pepsi Tudor for a while and planning to finally pull the trigger later this year. I'd obviously rather have a Pepsi Rolex, but I've yet to achieve Surly 1% status.
  9. LOL. Weather.com really phoning it in today.
  10. W #63. A 100-loss season is officially off the table.
  11. Rain and clouds keeping it well below 90 in H-town today, but we're in for a long stretch of the suck. High pressure heat dome looking likely to settle in over the state for the next 10-15 days.
  12. Man, I'm getting to the point of the Summer where I'll be happy just to see a day on the forecast where the low is even 2 degrees less than the day before. Every single day in the current 14-day outlook for Houston is a high between 92-96, high humidity, and a low of 78 or 79. Groundhog Day weather, where it's just the same day over and over and over. Really looking forward to my upcoming trip to Colorado the week after next. That first evening in town at sunset and it's in the 50's after flying out from a heat index over 100 is one of life's great pleasures.
  13. Holy crap, just saw a stat that we're 36/199 with RISP (.181) since the LAD series. No wonder we're 7-14 since then. Can that possibly be correct?
  14. Through 2 losses: 4 runs off 21 hits and 8 BB, 3 of which came off 2 swings by Walker. Watching this team since 7/6:
  15. Just the way things are going with this team. Correa is 2/4 with a BB today but saved his absolute worst AB of the day for bases loaded situation.
  16. 13 hits, 5 BB.....3 runs.
  17. "Benches clear after intentional balk" is not a phrase you hear often.
  18. A Neris sighting this season is basically equivalent to a white flag. It means we've given up and are looking to the next game.
  19. Lol, for a second I almost believed Neris was capable of a clean inning.
  20. In a world where anything goes as planned for the '25 Astros, Smith gets frequent days off, accounting for the fact that he has only spent 32 games in the minors and has never played anything remotely close to a 162-game season.
  21. Finally a shot to get some momentum and Caratini and Smith both K with men on 2nd and 3rd.
  22. Holy shit, an RBI single with RISP.
