  1. Was at Circle C HEB today checking for beers. No Zilker Anniversary, had the Tupps DDHDIPA. Saw a Dammit Jim! amber from New Republic Brewing which I haven't heard of. Looked at the can, and fuck me, it's from College Station. Got the Tupps and left.
  2. Kansas still keeps making the tournament but you could argue that they have kind of hit a wall the last few trips, Self might be losing a little of the mojo? I can't see them axing him but you know they had to cringe watching Tech make their run.
  3. Helluva come back, also have not seen any players using the Angell racquets on the pro circuits.
  4. I sometimes venture in to the Whole Foods at Wm. Cannon and S. Mopac for a smaller/specific items run. Those people that are at the beer/wine bar with an empty basket next to your bar stool, you're not fooling anyone, you're day drinking in a grocery store. NTTIAWWT.
  5. Well, it would be an improvement over the current situation no? Or I guess there is always the old " lower your expectations" formula to fall back on.
  6. So, if Shaka had assistant coaches who were responsible for his VCU teams success (limited) and his buyout is what keeps him here, then we should go after better asst. coaches and just let Shaka recruit? Didn't that work for Mack in football? Short term anyway.
  7. Go to HEB(Circle C/Dripping Springs) at least 3 times a week, family of 3 and 1 dog. Wife hates going and I kinda like it, especially the beer and wine section. Spend about $100.00 each trip.
  8. Tried Real Ales WallBall IPL today. Hit the spot after doing yard work, but not getting the mad hops taste as the can implies. Still not a bad one to add to the Texas summer beers lineup.
  9. Thanks for the post, these are the kind of places I was hoping to come across. That Schoolhouse in Eola may be the ticket since it looks like there is a good chance of rain on Saturday and my outdoor plans will be called off.
  10. That was a solid effort in singles today. Was at the USC match and watched on LHN today, doubles were not good at either of those. Are those teams that good or was Texas just off those days? Have not seen earlier matches but they must have done well enough to be ranked where they are. Will be tough on the road if they are playing from 0-1.
  11. Linky linky? Just go to Candy Warehouse.com
  12. Well my bad, I thought it was already light.
  13. I wish I still had all of my old National Lampoon mags from the 70's. In a way it's like they prepared me for Surly. Still miss my monthly reading of Bernie X, My Meter Is Running.
  14. Thanks for the input, but unless they have their moms with them I won't have anyone in my age range . Going to take my chances at the SoCo Taphouse or Zero One Ale House, those keep coming up on searches. What could go wrong?
  15. Yeah, I can't get out of this trip but it's only for two days. Was hopeful that I could at least get a decent burger and beer at one of the local places. Forgot to check the Surly small town link, maybe there's hope yet.
  16. Going to be in San Angelo April 5-6, been through it a few time but only stopped for gas. Did a search for brew pubs / tap rooms and looks like there might be some decent options. Who's been and whatcha got?
  17. Yeah, it was a great video, but Everything Must Go is the least familiar of all their work to me. Gotta give it a listen again
  18. Love SD, so many great tunes and always top notch musicians on their recordings/live shows. Hard to pick favorites from such deep and diverse catalog but Chain Lightning, Any Major Dude come to mind. Rick Derringer with the solid guitar work on Chain Lightning. The video they did to promote Everything Must Go is hilarious. Cab rides with the Dan in Vegas(I think) really shows their quirky sense of humor. They are in their own musical category for me.
  19. Apolitical Blues. Little Feat with Mick Taylor from Waiting For Columbus is my favorite version.
  20. Just had a Tupps Series 8 TDH IPA. So good, not even gonna complain about their pricing anymore. Ask a beer guy stocking the cooler about when to expect to see Electric Jellyfish on the shelves, was told that has been put on hold for the near future. Anyone else heard this? I thought they were already canning for distribution at the new Round Rock location.
  21. Saw one of those weight loss commercials with Marie Osmond. Would, if she didn't speak.
  22. Picked up some Spindleltap Houston Haze at South Austin Central Market. I'm liking it.
  23. Seeing all of these old candy brands from my childhood and did a search to see if they still make them. Apparently Candy Warehouse has them all. Even still have the candy/gum cigarettes for aspiring young smokers. Who knew?
  24. Kinky Cheesy
  25. You won the Silver!
