  1. I have no idea what you are talking about, your initial post didn’t contain any specifics except for some limp both sides talk and a Lebron reference for some reason. I didn’t even consider you were talking about one specific incident. I’m also going to guess Lebron didn’t tweet the officer’s address. That would have been a big deal and nobody would have excused it. Pretty baffled by what point you are trying to make in this thread really. It was about Babbitt being propped up as a martyr by the right but for some reason you felt that it needed to be said that some hypothetical person is a hypocrite about “street justice for police”?
  2. It's both sides bullshit because you are equating what this officer did to an officer shooting a kid playing with a toy gun at a playground or an innocent woman sleeping in her own bed. I have mixed feelings about his identity being withheld but of course you treat an officer who was put in a difficult situation and did his duty differently than you treat a reckless (at best) cop whose actions result in the loss of innocent life. But you know that.
  3. Clowning on Nahlin and Wells is always fun but Gerry is good and he needs a W before he's left with zero credibility this cycle. Sure would be nice if that win coincides with winning out for Anderson.
  4. https://www.avclub.com/pig-is-so-much-richer-and-stranger-than-the-nicolas-cag-1847281425 So it might actually be good.
  5. Chances the advocates in their respective households are the sources that led IT to be way too optimistic about Texas' chances with them in the first place?
  6. Nahlin still seems pretty shook from last week. You can kind of tell he wants to be a little more bullish on our chances in that Arch update but is hesitant to go out on a limb after the Cam, Banks & Brooks meltdown.
  7. We were straight up lucky to beat Tech as well. Needed a miracle onside kick, quick td, and an 2 point conversion just to get it to OT. In a 10 game schedule we played 6 games that were true toss-ups until basically the final gun.
  8. https://theathletic.com/2696515/2021/07/12/college-football-win-totals-could-clemson-miss-the-playoff-is-north-carolina-a-10-win-team-and-more/ Texas section of the Athletic win total column: Ari Wasserman went with a tepid "over" with the O/U set at 8. Andy Staples went "under" mainly because he refuses to get fooled again. Some talk about how good they think TCU will be in there as well. If we have a 7 win season that is an outright disaster, so fuck you Andy.
  9. Watched the first episode of White Lotus last night. It was fine, I like the cast and the setting. I usually enjoy the Hawaii/resort setting even when the tone is supposed to be bitter and focused on how miserable the rich people on those vacations actually are. It is pretty criminal that in a show that features this level of talent: The only nudity was a close-up of Steve Zahn's balls.
  10. Yeah, not exactly the parameters but interesting example, especially considering Sark's involvement. Admittedly what I'm talking about is going to have a pretty small sample size. By the way, how exactly did Washington play 14 games in 2014 without playing in a conference championship? They were allowed to schedule 4 OOC games in addition to their 9 game PAC schedule for some reason.
  11. I'm not talking about constantly dominating though, I'm talking about the people wondering how we are going to hit the over at 8.5 because we have a new qb and coaching staff. Saban didn't immediately turn them into the absolute machine that they became, but he didn't take a step back. 6 wins the year before, 7 in his first year. We won 7 games last season and had 3 games cancelled, two of which would have been easy wins. That was good enough to (rightfully) get Herman fired. No excuses for Sark to get less than 9 wins in his first season. Said another way, is there a recent example of a coach that took over a blue blood program, took a step back his first year but went on to have a successful tenure?
  12. I'll push back against the OL being terrible. Quite average seems right, with enough good pieces to improve a ton with some real coaching. Also, I've posted this before but programs who have a lot of talent improve quickly when they upgrade their coaching. All these coaches were basically breaking in a new qb as well: Notre Dame - 2009: 6-6 2010 (Kelly's 1st): 8-5 Ohio State - 2011: 6-7 2012 (Urban's 1st): 12-0 Michigan - 2014: 5-7 2015 (Harbaugh's 1st): 10-3 Florida - 2017: 4-7 2018 (Mullen's 1st): 10-3 If you hire the right guy, teams that have been underachieving get better really quickly.
  13. I’m sure Oregon is having this same problem, nothing Nike can do right.
  14. Trying to think of examples elite recruiting HCs who are personable and well-liked and come across as laid back in 1-1 settings. I guess Pete Carroll is the obvious one and would make a lot of sense of the model for Sark. I think that approach can work but it probably works better once you have some real success to back up that easy confidence. When you are as vulnerable to negative recruiting as we currently are (and the only counter is Sark’s vision of the program) it’s probably a better time for the hard sell.
  15. This is fair, but we aren't currently looking at the Sarkisian era as trending poorly before we've played a single game are we? If we are writing off the misses in this class so far and adjusting our expectations for the 2022 class I'm there. I don't expect a flood of big flips from committed prospects no matter how well we play this season. Unrelated, but were we in on the Jeudy recruitment at some point? I don't remember that at all.
  16. I don't know that Sark is necessarily the point of that picture but still. Slow day. https://247sports.com/Player/King-Mwikuta-45572616/high-school-181425/
  17. It seems like a bit that you would get this pissy about being criticized for this rather than... considering the wider gamut of issues that led to getting your very light rebuking.
  18. This is neither here nor there because your point is BS, but wait until you find out how wars are fought and justified.
  19. https://247sports.com/player/derrick-brown-47485/ This guy I guess? Funny enough, I graduated with Keondra Smith who went to aggy as a rb the next year. He also got a new car senior year, the rumor at school was that it was paid for by Nebraska boosters who he lead on for a while before commiting to a&m. No idea if it was true or not. If there is any truth to either it's pretty wild that low 3 star rbs would be getting cars purchased for them, even back then.
  20. Let the Moczulski vs Stone debate rage.
  21. https://uproxx.com/life/tom-colicchio-interview-top-chef-18/ Pretty good interview with Tom about the season. Touches on Dawn missing elements off several plates and some behind the scenes stuff. Looks like the interviews was before Gabe's troubles started to circulate more so there is no mention of that. I liked the answer on his favorite dish of the season because I really wanted to try that hotpot:
