  1. https://www.perfectgame.org/players/playerprofile.aspx?ID=490292 He played 39 PG events. I'm sure growing up in a new country was difficult, but that story is seriously overselling the underdog angle. When you have his kind of talent you get scholarshipped into elite programs so they can sell to bigger numbers of parents of lesser talented kids.
  2. Great story of a young man overcoming the difficult odds of being only 6'4" 215 pounds with a mid-90s rocket arm. Brings tears to your eyes.
  3. I think it was '29 and '30.
  4. But the Phillies are the only team with two 250+ hit seasons and they were by different players in consecutive seasons.
  5. Agreed. Basically the reason is that a sac bunt is on purpose and a sac fly isn't. Which raises the exact issue Beau Vine has.
  6. This table right here ties in with the other thread where I talk about hating 3TO baseball. Top 8 all time within the last 8 seasons. More irritating is it's by 8 different players. If it were one outlier piling up seasons that would be kind of cool.
  7. Fair to question it but I'm a balls in play nerd / 3TO hater. Famous single season hits totals is something I know. Combs is very obvious because his big hits total season was for the 1927 Yankees, I'm far from the only one who knows lots of stats for that team. Klein had one of the only 250+ seasons which everyone watched Ichiro pass. Wheat is the only one that some stat nerds might not know. Now if you made me name players with 200+ hits since Ichiro last did it not named Altuve I'd have a problem. Although I guess not many guys reach that number anymore anyway.
  8. Looked it up but the answer I found was not for a defunct franchise.
  9. I bet this seemed like a really good point in your head.
  10. Oh man the second one today is like my dream grid. Astros and old teams (plus the Mets), stat is season hits total. Immaculate Grid 100 9/9: Rarity: 52 IMMACULATE! 🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩 Play at: https://immaculategrid.com
  11. This is why the Republicans keep winning elections and hurting the country. There is no pride in it but it's a fact that we nuked millions of innocent citizens because their rulers were doing bad stuff. And in this case the citizens of Alabama actually bear responsibility for Tuberville. When you're fighting pieces of shit you have to set aside some integrity until after you win. Refind your moral center once victory is achieved. That doesn't mean everything is okay in any battle. But it sure as shit means petty politics are okay to fight against petty politics.
  12. Immaculate Grid 99 8/9: 🟩🟩🟩 🟩⬜️🟩 🟩🟩🟩
  13. No, I have no opinion regarding what you thought of Fitzgerald. What I saw was your disparaging student journalists because sometimes journalism reveals things you wish weren't true. And it started to appear very quickly after you posted that those students were right and you were completely wrong not only about journalism in general but about those student journalists in particular.
  14. 1M - 40k = 960k x .015 = 14,400 1.1M - 100k = 1M x .015 = 15,000 As he said, you'll likely pay more. 600k current year home value is the breakeven point for actual year over year tax bill drop versus increase in this very simple analysis.
  15. Entered the transfer portal. I don't see how someone accepts him at anything above D3 (meaning how someone would give him an athletic scholarship).
  16. WTF is going on in here? Pretty sure sexual assault is both weird and stupid. But more importantly it's illegal and awful. Trying to "no big deal" sexual assault is also both weird and stupid. Yes, if what is described happened it is 100% sexual assault.
  17. But it's not. I looked earlier today and it didn't say anything about career stats unless my rage blinded me. I had never read it before so assumed it did.
  18. So single season stats and awards have to be when playing on the team in question but career stats do not. (Yes I was thinking my Clemens answer might have been wrong, too)
  19. Immaculate Grid 98 8/9: 🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩 🟩⬜️🟩
  20. Exactly. Waiting for the Phillies/Nationals square so I can use Pedro MartΓnez when most use Trea Turner.
  21. Immaculate Grid 97 8/9: ⬜️🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩
  22. Immaculate Grid 96 9/9: IMMACULATE! 🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩
  23. So dumb to have a fireworks celebration after getting your asses kicked.
  24. Well this is stupid. Brown had no control from the start and then Maton one-upped him. Offensively we've hit Castillo hard with nothing really to show for it. Shitty game.
