  1. Feels wrong to be this high in the standings with the season being a disappointment so far
  2. Do you also take fucking cold as shit showers like my wife does? "The water didn't get that hot in the pueblito growing up"
  3. Yup. "Let me tell you what is coming. After the sacrifice of countless millions of treasure and hundreds of thousands of lives you may win Southern independence, but I doubt it. The North is determined to preserve this Union. They are not a fiery, impulsive people as you are, for they live in colder climates. But when they begin to move in a given direction, they move with the steady momentum and perseverance of a mighty avalanche." -Sam Houston

Lots of Weston to AVFC talk out there right now UTV!
  5. I was talking to a couple of New Zealanders who just got done surfing the Pacific Coast of Mexico and they were flying with me to Mexico City and then on to Houston for 2 days. They were worried that their hotel room wouldn't have AC in Houston. I told them they didn't have to worry about that at least lol.
  6. Why would you write yourself a check when withdrawals are free (assuming you dont mean your business)? Our checks are up to $25 for 80 of them now and I still have a hard time getting customers to switch over to using a withdrawal form for cash or just using our atm (has multiple denominations and you don't have to talk to anyone or fill anything out).
  7. Well Zelenskyy would love to have NATO join the war. Why wouldn't he?
  8. 100% not "off the beaten path" as just about all of Mexico City is here but Huatulco on the Oaxacan coast has been great this week and in the summer I dont believe there are any direct flights to Canada/US so there are hardly any whites here (well besides me). Really nice people and I've gotten the correct change 100% of the time which is usually not the case in Mexico City or Quintana Roo. My wife also refuses to speak to me in English and she thinks that might be why we haven't been ripped off yet this week. Food is great too if you don't eat at the shitty all-inclusive resort.

  10. UCF and UH will win plenty of games in the B12 and there's no reason to think that either school will struggle (besides UH struggling to fill stadium) with their recruiting base.
  11. You could sub out Texas Giant or the Rattler depending on your Six Flags of preference and still fit in here comfortably. I loved all 3 of them in their wooden state of bang you up coaster.
  12. I'm surprised you don't have any suits. That has to be pretty rare for your generation.
  13. https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/sports/aztecs/story/2023-07-03/san-diego-state-sdsu-aztecs-mountain-west-conference-pac-12-exit-letters-6-6-million-distribution
  14. Man, you were so close to being forced into Kilgore.
  15. Alright Chilangos, I have a 6 hour layover at MEX on Friday from 10:00-16:00. Normally I'd just uber into the Zocalo and wander into a restaurant/taqueria and kill an hour but this time it's a group of 7 of us including a 1-year-old. Any ideas that are relatively close to the airport besides just sitting in that fucking awful terminal (#2) for 6 hours?
  16. See that's the great thing about being a legacy. I got in, but it might've been my stunning application that got me in instead of my parents both attending the university too. I guess on the pro side is that you get kids that are excited to go there and are more likely to finish and donate, but those seem relatively small in the grand scheme of things compared to the cons.
  17. How is this pronounced btw? I always just say supermercado so I don't butcher it.
  18. AMLO isn't a fan https://www.eluniversal.com.mx/nacion/ni-un-voto-a-desantis-amlo-arremete-contra-reforma-migratoria-del-gobernador-de-florida/ Pretty strong words here:
  19. No I'm not suggesting that, but there's some form of cruelty involved when you teach kids 0 financial literacy in school and most of them have 0 experience with adult finances and then put them in a predicament where they are pressured (socially) to put on the burden of $50K+ of debt that isn't even real to them as it's something they'll pay "later" in some abstract future that they don't comprehend.
  20. Well yes and no. Adult enough to add $100k+ of debt that can't be removed via bankruptcy, but not adult enough to buy a beer.
