  1. One of the many, many, many perks of being white is not getting judged based on the actions/words of any one rando white person. The closest thing I probably feel to what you're describing is when I look at the TV, as a Texan, and there is a news story with the caption "Ted Cruz (R) - TEXAS."
  2. Fox News putting a bullet in irony's head and raping its corpse.
  3. Trump right out of the gates with the "no true Scotsman." Even using the phrase "no true...."
  4. We now take you to the replies to Ben Shaprio's tweets...
  5. I wonder how far they're going to try and push their alleged victimhood...Oh.
  6. For inspirational courage, that Congressman should watch AOC's livestream from last night. You should at least be able to be as brave as a dainty little 31-year-old female minority snowflake who is probably the most marked person in all of government by the fascist right. She was spitting fire yesterday.
  7. ^^ Also, that Bulwark video needs to be in the Fox News thread. This is your brain on Fox News.
  8. Common thread in most if not all of these soundbites: Extraordinary claims with no supporting evidence or facts. Just unshakable, religious-like faith.
  9. Those metal detectors probably went up because some bureaucrat wants to CYA. I doubt Dems pulled strings to get them up in order to shame Republicans.
  10. Festinger stated that five conditions must be present if someone is to become a more fervent believer after a failure or disconfirmation: A belief must be held with deep conviction and it must have some relevance to action, that is, to what the believer does or how he or she behaves. The person holding the belief must have committed himself to it; that is, for the sake of his belief, he must have taken some important action that is difficult to undo. In general, the more important such actions are, and the more difficult they are to undo, the greater is the individual's commitment to the belief. The belief must be sufficiently specific and sufficiently concerned with the real world so that events may unequivocally refute the belief. Such undeniable disconfirmatory evidence must occur and must be recognized by the individual holding the belief. The individual believer must have social support. It is unlikely that one isolated believer could withstand the kind of disconfirming evidence that has been specified. If, however, the believer is a member of a group of convinced persons who can support one another, the belief may be maintained and the believers may attempt to proselytize or persuade nonmembers that the belief is correct.
  11. I haven't read any of Chuck Tingle's books but this one is on point.
  12. Louie Gohmert getting tuned up and hauled off from the Capitol in zip ties would get 10 million views on Youtube.... from me alone.
  13. In countless criminal cases, cops threaten the girlfriend with an accomplice charge to get the goods on the bad actor. Unfortunately, maybe about 5% or so of the actual insurrectionists have girlfriends to turn them in.
  14. There is basically ONE GUY - Mitt Romney - who has not put Trump before: 1) Constitution / Rule of Law 2) the Good of the Country 3) their own political party 4) fucking anything else The Republicans in Congress are, by definition, fascists. If not all, definitely the ones who objected to the election certification.
  15. This STILL the banner on the Texas GOP twitter account
  16. And those are the closeted photos he presents to the general public (as opposed to the ones on his Grindr account).
  17. Since Trump can't tweet, every Democrat should just straight up lie like, "The President called me this morning and said he was scared and even cried about being impeached."
