  1. Despite being a one-hit wonder nationally, Better than Ezra was a pretty legendary New Orleans band. I saw them at the Houston Rodeo cookoff on an outdoor stage and they fucking rocked everyone's asses off. I definitely hated "Good" and was a nonbeliever until then.
  2. Whitney Rose & Ms. Emmylou I tried to think of a comment but they were all too horny. Listening to Gram & Emmylou on Grievous Angel. Chefs kiss. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Listen to what this guy does with a Vox AC4 and a Memory Man. Pretty awesome. He's not even mic'ing the amp up close.
  4. I spent my 21st birthday at CSNY at the Frank Erwin Center in ATX, baby. Setlist: Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young Concert Setlist at Frank Erwin Center, Austin on April 10, 2002 | setlist.fm
  5. There was an article or something about referring to the 68-69 dead as the "proto-dead" or something. Because they were legit muddy, and doom sounding blues like black sabbath. Can anyone find that article and the show(s) it was referencing? This is driving me nuts.
  6. This page is delivering.
  7. One reason debut albums are so good, and often a band's best album, is because the band has all their best material together and they have no idea if they'll ever make another album or "make it" in general. So they just go for broke and put on everything they've worked on for a long time. I read this in some interview somewhere and it sounded like it made sense.
  8. Sold. Which one of you got it?!? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. This is pretty close to what warren Haynes plays. Some kind of custom soldano. He’s an above average guitarist if you asked me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. So this is kind of like Carr's take on a Princeton. Added is the attenuator type "headroom" knob and mid range tone control. Totally simple & amazing sounding. Carrs are the jam. Check out their "Telstar." If I am at a guitar shop and there is a Carr for sale, I will never leave without plugging in for a second.
  11. Anything even up to the asking price isn't terrible. Looks like it's local pickup only though. I don't know if this has been discussed, but Thomann out of Germany sells these cabs for $245. "Harley Benton" is basically the generic, Chinese-made brand for the store. Harley Benton G212 Vintage Vertical – Thomann United States (thomannmusic.com) And 4x12s for $409 Harley Benton G412A Vintage – Thomann United States (thomannmusic.com) I saw this and I was like, how the F is this possible? One Celestion Vintage 30 speaker costs about $145. How can they stick two inside a decent enough cab and sell the package for less than the MSRP of the speakers? Well, after seeing this video, I pulled the trigger. I'm definitely satisfied with the thing. There is some corner-cutting in terms of construction but you cannot beat the deal. Even with the Euro-Dollar conversion and having to ship the damn thing from Germany, the 2x12 vertical only cost me about $300. 12. I got this last fall and don't think I posted the pic. I have it running through a cab with 2 Celestion Vintage 30s.
  13. Miley Cyrus' NCAA concert last Saturday was kind of badass. Looking through my itunes, I'm seeing these other guilty pleasures: Mariah Carey - I would probably pay decent money to see her live and also go to the show in disguise Miscellaneous Musical Theater - Wicked, Les Mis, Phantom of the Opera Taylor Swift - 1989 but that's about it Skrillex - Mostly his collaborations with folks like ASAP Rocky, but the dude can lay down a hook Nicki Minaj - She is a legit amazing rapper. If she did away with all the wigs and pageantry and over-the-top shit everyone would probably get that.
  14. Ha, it actually stands for "stability." Turning it down makes the fuzz more sputtery and insane.
  15. I bought this recently as a knee-jerk response to a limited release. I thought, hey even if I'm not crazy about the thing I'll be able to sell it for more than I bought it for. I have yet to understand how everything works - there are 6 knobs, 4 toggles, two footswitches, and 16 dip switches. Shit is fun though. Chase Bliss Audio Bliss Factory - YouTube
  16. I'm listening to Quadrophenia right now. Pretty fucking outstanding.
  17. Would love to see Bo Diddley's contract riders. "Management shall be responsible for maintaining a deep fryer sufficient for preparing fried chicken in performer's dressing room."
  18. David Gilmour's wife continues to post outstanding stuff on instagram. While other aging rockers still dye their hair and cover up baldness with caps and bandanas, Dave has just straight up embraced the Grandpa vibe. He's constantly out ambling in pastures with his dogs and admiring his garden. Love it. https://www.instagram.com/p/CLCpWYGhu_o/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Polly Samson (@pollysamson) • Instagram photos and videos Also, his youngest daughter is a straight up clone of him. It's uncanny. I've posted this before but I'm posting it again because I freaking LOL every time I see it. "GTFO Dad, I'm Trying to Do Music!!!"
  19. Way Down in the Rust Bucket is out! (Streaming on archives website until full release on 2/26). Sounds fucking good. Love that there is now a good live version of "Don't Cry No Tears," one of my favorites. Neil Young Archives
  20. A challenger enters the ring. Tom Gara on Twitter: "Aljazeera is getting into the right wing news business https://t.co/LYvYRX5OLN" / Twitter
  21. The grid collapsing and people freezing to death is good, actually, because it is making people aware of how dangerous it would be, hypothetically, to have a Green New Deal. But in all seriousness, this is making me aware of how dumb Abbott is. When Rick Perry left I was like, bring on the next right wing nut, but at least he can't be that dumb. Abbott is just not competent.
  22. Hunter Biden collected toddler faces in a tan suit made by Mexicans. I knew it.
  23. Twins sketch was an instant classic. I am still laughing right now. I thought it was a good episode. Multiple LOL moments - Subway, Weekend Update (esp. My Pillow), liberal Georgia. I haven't come to expect a ton from SNL so the whole thing was a pleasant surprise.
