  1. Really nice year in the market. 401(K) +20% depending on these last few days. Most other non-cash investments mirroring the S&P, so overall a good solid year. Im probably a little older than most on here, graduated Texas in '92. Im here to tell you younger guys, just stay the course. Put $50-$100, per week forever, whatever you can muster.... augment with consistent 401(K) contributions and pay yourself first when you get bonuses. As soon as your kid is born, open a 529 and seed with a couple grand. Then put $50 a week, you will never miss it. If you are lucky college will be paid for and with solid market gains, you will be good to go. Live good, but be smart....metaphorically "don't buy the couch" was advice a mentor of mine gave me 35 years ago. He meant it as a way to train me to be frugal but not dumb. Especially if you are married, pick your battles. Take care of your shit, it will last. Buy and hold your car, get it paid off, nix the Rolex, buy nice set of clubs and resist the urge to get a new driver every year. Keep track of your bills on a spreadsheet....handle all the bills and money yourself, don't delegate that shit out...you watch the money. Use Vanguard or some other low cost , low fee provider. I started saving and investing at 25, about 3 years out of Texas before I could start saving, up until that it was hand to mouth and where is the party?! When my generation was young all the books (Millionaire Next Door, 401(K) Millionaire , Dogs of the Dow etc..) all said if you follow a simple strategy of dollar cost averaging and consistently paying yourself first, you will be very happy by 60. Hard to be disciplined at that age when buddies were buying Rolex watches and leasing BMWs etc..but the system works. Just need to start, start now, be consistent and don't waiver. I only pulled out once, right after 9/11, but quickly got back in. Once kids and houses come in to play it gets harder but not impossible. Mrs JDhorn (no pics) and i have done well.... next year will mark 28 years with the same firm, slow and steady wins the race.... hopefully that advice will have an impact.
  2. What about HS early enrollees? I commented on @Im_smarter_then_you 's post that Cooper could not play, but maybe Im actually am not smarter than him
  3. Is Bryce Underwood playing in the game?
  4. Michael Terry was ranked a 5* athlete, I imagine he'll get touches at RB, as will Ryan Niblett. Between those two and the 2RB still on roster we will have 4 deep who can rush. What i don't have calculated is if this game will violate any RS participation max, as that would alter things. Overall Im really looking forward to a bunch of new faces getting PT.
  5. We have one committed to us right now. I think in time he’ll fit the mold you covet
  6. There were at least 2 walk in touchdowns missed with a drop or overthrow. There were another 4 at least drops in crucial down and distance moments with 10-20 yards of open field. I dont put that on Sark. Not saying completing half those plays makes us 10-2 or 11-1, but IMO Sark's offensive play calling is about 4th or 5th down the line....OL personnel, Mosely not seeing the field due to whatever, lack of quality RB depth, drops and flags are way up the list when writing the story of Texas this year IMO
  7. Be nice if he and Brad Spence are buddies
  8. 9-3 in a 9 game SEC conference schedule is not the same as 9-3 in B12 or the previous SEC. what we are going to witness next year is unprecedented in college football. Spread 8 more SEC losses around this year and things would have looked a lot different. This is why there will be expansion to 16, no byes, first 2 rounds at home schools. 9-3 will be the new 10-2 imo.
  9. I like also the fact he’ll be 24 when the season starts next year with an ‘02 birth year. That maturity and experience, body development is hard to replicate
  10. We’re playing Michigan’s back up QB, so should even out.
  11. Ah the only comment needed reading that post….TAMU, where the women are champions and the men are cheerleaders
  12. Rpongett? HPSlugga, maybe BillinSinton?
  13. Dont believe he's Jewish anymore. COuld be wrong but i think hes a known atheist.
