  1. So excited to be at an outdoor concert tonight at Moody Amphitheater
  2. I found them while listening to "Amyl and the Sniffers Radio" (you know how Spotify has "radio stations" if you like a particular band. Anyway, I thought they were pretty good. @jimmyjazz Check out Lambrini Girls... songs like "Love" or "Big Dick Energy". The whole Who Let The Dogs out album is something.

Tickets this year are crazy which is why we do early bird tickets.
  4. Give me 61 and humid again and I won't complain
  5. I'd like to point out that the past two mornings were incredibly nice in Austin and completely unfair.

I used those in Amsterdam and saw them in Ghent, too. In Ghent they were funny because they were more like a line of urinals all side by side with little dividers but the front partition stopped at about shoulder high so you could look out and at people while peeing. Pretty funny.
  7. No doubt. Had mother's day lunch out on the back patio yesterday... perfect weather to relax and enjoy the outdoors. This morning was 53. Glorious. That all ends but still, it was a great start to the month.
  8. Africa Night... one of the best things to do in Austin

Yeah, all things considered the public bathrooms at ACL are surprisingly not bad at all

Definitely not referring to you. I know you're relatively on top of things. Having a musical family clearly helps, too. I'm talking about the people that see the new lineup and complain because "uhhh I recognize three bands".
  11. Caught The Point again on Saturday night at the Sahara Lounge. Man, their talent and the energy is so infectious. They brought the house down, again. All three of them are great but Nico Leophonte on drums always blows my mind. So good! (Not from that particular show...)

Right? I love the lineup and have already found some new bands but these guys who complain non-stop... Picture yourself at 21 or 24 or 25 Some 50-year old whines about the lineup at ACL Yeah, dude... that's you! Cut it out.
  13. Been getting into the growing psychedelic Cumbia scene in Austin. A lot of very fun bands.

I'm just thrilled that The Strokes are opposite Sabrina Carpenter so that big ass crowd will be over at the Amex stage.
  15. Just here to say I just saw Case McCoy at Butler Pitch and Putt and that man is a hero who broke aggy
  16. So September would be way better. Temperatures are still warm, prices drop, a lot less people. If you're thinking of only using a train, you could go to Riccione on the Adriatic side. Very Italian. If you have a car, from Rome you could look at Sperlonga (my family has been going there on/off since the 50s) or even go to Maremma to Talamone, Porto Ercole (swanky) or Porto Santo Stefano. If you can get to Ancona maybe with a train, look up Numana or Sirolo. We regularly go to Rimini. Honestly, the water is not the best you're going to find on the coast but for a family, it is unparalleled. There's always tons to do. Beach is wide and full of beach clubs. Very Italian. It sure as hell will be at the beach. Guaranteed.

Poking around the lineup, finding some prospects...
  18. I'm sure Montana will be fine... https://nbcmontana.com/news/local/us-could-look-to-montana-after-chinas-critical-minerals-embargo
  19. I think I saw reports of sunny weather this afternoon in Austin. Going to feel and smell like a pair of soccer socks worn during soccer practice in the drizzle.

I can totally get into Ocean Alley. Big fan of so much of the music coming out of Australia...

I see gold all over the place. My taste in music is really eclectic so I can dig all kinds of bands in that lineup. Immediate ones are The Strokes, Modest Mouse, Cage the Elephant, Wet Leg, Empire of the Sun. The Dare cracks me up... definitely will catch that set. John Summit should be a great electronic headliner. Been wanting to see Orion's Belte since I dig the Khruangbin/Glass Beams vibe (see below). Polo & Pan should be good. Bunch of other good options. I'll leave W1 with a bunch of new bands I like.
  23. Seriously - you could get sweet places in prime locations under $100K
  24. I should've bought when I thought of it in 2006. Cheap cheap cheap.
