  1. 1000% intentional. His buddy recorded the whole thing.
  2. Ah belly flops... Diving board is one of the best parts of BSP. So, last summer these two guys were doing some amazing dives and wowing the usual spectator crowd. Anyway, towards the end, one guy signaled to the other that he was ready to go so they talked about one last dive. Guy #1 goes and stands in line while Guy #2 waits to the side, by the ladder, with his camera phone. Anyway, its finally Guy #1's turn. I'm behind him in line so next up. He jumps up, gets an amazing amount of air and lands flat and I mean F L A T onto the water with his arms to his side. Picture this (below) but coming from about 10 feet in the air and landing straight down on the water. I cannot describe the sound of him hitting the water and the crowd's reaction. It was brutal. I could not even climb up the stairs for a good 30 seconds. Really hard to describe. The guy finally came up the ladder looking like he was two tone... red on one side, white on the other. Unbelievable.
  3. The legend of E. King Gill Of course aggy memorializes everything...
  4. Well, I'm pretty sure its in the news... quick Google search below. Also, maybe it was a cyber attack, maybe it wasn't. Let the smart people sort it out. The investigators don't have to tell us everything. Maybe that's your clue that it may not have been a cyber attack if they didn't rush out immediately? I don't know.
  5. preacher seat > cannonball (prepare your nads)
  6. I'm going to guess that case of wine I ordered in container #27 to be cooked
  7. Man, I think we all have the same perspective... I love Austin, I hate where it is located, I want to leave but we're kind of stuck for a while for various reasons. At least while we're all here, we see the good side of Austin and do our best not to bellyache because Player's or Dry Creek is gone. Every town changes, every town evolves... some things get better, some things get worse. We're still in the best city in Texas. Fight me. I'll meet you by the diving board and Barton Springs Pool. I'm the one doing a can opener.
  8. 61° Sunny and wonderfully green outside. This morning Austin kicks ass
  9. Supposed to be aggy Benny Hill
  10. I like Kinser. They feel a bit grumpy but prices are fair. I also like picking up on their property (firewood)
  11. Think I'll finally visit this summer and check out the track. I've driven past it but never gone down to tour it.
  12. Sitting in my home office in SW Austin with the window open... listening to the rain and thunder. I'll take this. This is nice. Looks like the worst stuff is staying south and some storms may head to the Lake Travis Watershed... Let's do this...
  13. That's not all they're talking about Sometimes I'm glad I can't see the Capitol Building any more
  14. Its aggy graduation time, y'all! Things gettin' crazy on campus.
  15. I feel like last year's was perpetual 0% with witty graphics of the high pressure dome of death
  16. Feeling darker here in SW Austin but I'm hoping the worst of it does not head this way. I'd like to see a nice training storm sitting over the Lake Travis watershed though. Rain bomb, plz
  17. I mean, its the party apparatus... Goebbels, Himmler, Heydrick, etc. were all lined up and supporting no matter what. What's the difference?
  18. LOL... that's funny. You know, I've noticed old people love to talk about their health problems and procedures. I've noticed it too much unfortunately. Don't get old But, hilarious that someone would want to take a picture of that. We go downtown/South Congress a lot - I just like the vibe. We hear the funniest things from tourists when sitting on a front table at Guero's. I'm trying to figure out how some of these people haven't seen Tex-Mex before. Then again, I remember being in Southern California for two weeks my senior year in HS and this girl from Iowa would keep taking pictures of touching palm trees.
  19. It happens because people will go to great lengths to ski great untouched terrain. You have to be smart and know the avalanche report so you make decisions that won't put you in (too much) danger. But, honestly, sometimes nature does what it wants. Even extremely experienced people end up dying (see background and some pretty kickass footage from a guy who dies earlier this year near CB) https://www.gunnisontimes.com/articles/eric-freson/ Eric enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling and ice climbing in the winter months. He combined all three passions frequently in pursuit of placing turns at obscure places and times. Eric rallied his friends to start skiing at night to get more hours in during the day. Nighttime second bowl laps became a weekly occurrence. His ski equipment frequently included ropes, crampons, ice axes, and deep trust between partners as essential tools for skiing the lines he was interested in. Eric would patiently scout lines, sometimes for multiple seasons, until conditions aligned, but would also be up for a quick strike mission when the snow was good. For Eric, the people and the places were just as important as the snow conditions to have a good ski day.
  20. Don't forget San Francisco
  21. Just finished watching the race in Le Man's and MotoGP > Formula 1 and it's not even close
  22. Man, he sure can fire you up!
  23. The first time I went to the Domain I looked around and said, "this is nice but you could tell me I was in Atlanta or Houston or some other generic city and I wouldn't know the difference"
