  1. Yeah, not super accurate. SW was told there was a Boeing 767 heavy on 3-mile final and they even fucking acknowledged it when confirming their takeoff clearance...then for whatever reason they either took too long to line-up or they sat for 20-30 seconds before applying takeoff power. 3 mile final for a 767 is basically a 1-minute warning, and at an airport like JFK it's not uncommon at all for the 22R/4L or 31L/31R runways to be shared for pretty tight departing and arriving traffic in similar proximities. I'm no expert but the controller at AUS seemed to totally lose it with respect to both aircraft in that critical 60-second period. Hopefully they fire his ass or transfer him to Albuquerque.
  2. We went to the Bellagio boofay last October and it had gone WAY downhill. Super disappointing.
  3. We don't have a thread for this? Grayton Seafood Stinkys Fish Camp Donut Hole (breakfast) Chiringo (good alternative to Red Bar which is across the street)
  4. We don't allow any outside syrups, jams, or condiments in the restaurant.
  5. Business Breakdowns podcast did a deep dive on Netflix back in late November, pretty interesting following their evolution.
  6. Do you ever get down on your knees and thank God you know me and have access to my dementia?
  7. Next you’ll be telling me we lost Roger Moore again, too.
  8. Somehow we missed that Robert F. Chew aka Prop Joe from The Wire passed away a (decade) ago. 52 years old, damn. He did a great job in that role. RIP. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_F._Chew Anyways back to 2023.
  9. I was in the Cayman’s yesterday and this long haired dude in the red cap was taking this ship to sea from George Town. Incidentally, it made me think of Kirk Russell’s greatest role.
  10. Oh Angeline’s no cretin, boss, she’s a Puerto rican!
  11. Can’t you see I’m burned out!
  12. “What are they saying now? “It’s not you, it’s me.”
  13. "I'm running the meeting." The other old man in charge of building A puffs his cigar and says "if you think so" and it slays me every time.
  14. What are you getting on the Long Island Expressway for? Do you know what the traffic will be like? This is a suicide mission!
  15. And who could forget from The Secret Code: “And there, tucked into the river's bend was the object of my search. The Gwon-Jaya River Market. Fabrics and spices traded under a starlit sky. It was there that I discovered the Pamplona Beret. Sizes seven-and-a-half through eight-and-three-quarters. Price, thirty-five dollars.”
  16. I, too, once fell under the spell of opium. It was 1979. I was travelling the Yangtze in search of a Mongolian horsehair vest.
  17. Gotta have one pick under 40. As far as prize you find out when you win.
