  1. I don't think Iowa understands how Fat Bear Week works.
  2. If there's one thing aggy knows, it's what would have happened in a hypothetical match up.
  3. Let's not aggy this up. Ewers is having a good season and continues to improve, but he's not playing at a Heisman level. That's not a bad thing. If Ewers plays out of his mind, he'd probably be on the bench way before he throws for 400 yards and 5 or 6 touchdowns. Meanwhile, Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels need those numbers for their teams to have a chance. Ewers just has to drive the bus. If he's in the Heisman conversation, it's because he ran over all of Texas' opponents, backed up, and then ran over them again.
  4. You can add Bama to that list too. Their OL is, at best, a work in progress.
  5. I haven't watched OU at all this year, but so far this season doesn't look that different than last season. Last year they won their first three games by 30+, including a road win against Nebraska, and were ranked in the top 10. And then lost at home to the first good team they played (KSU). So far, it seems the biggest difference between this year and last year is an easier schedule through 5 games.
  6. If Jimbo manages to finish 6-6, it would be financially irresponsible to not give him an extension.
  7. Is it Tuesday already? This week is flying by.
  8. I don't think that's how regardation works. It sure as hell isn't how surly works.
  9. Why not? They held the ball for most of the quarter and settled for 3 points. Then immediately gave up a touchdown. Sark's approach is straight out of soccer - absorb pressure then score on a counter attack. "ToP-a-dope?" Wyoming held the ball for almost 40 minutes. And lost by 21. Baylor held the ball for 33 minutes and lost by 32.
  10. This would make a great aggy recruiting thread title.
  11. The substitution patterns drove me crazy last year. I think it was against Tech at one point we needed a stop on 4th and 2 and brought Blackwell in. It's paid off though. There's not much drop off from the starters this year. And time of possession is essentially meaningless. Wyoming held the ball for 40 minutes and I don't think anyone on defense played more than 45 snaps. No one's going to wear this defense out.
  12. They have two heisman-level QBs.
  13. Ignore that it was 6-0 late in the half when he was hurt.
  14. I agree, but for slightly different reasons. Surly used to be hilarious when it was rooted in Texas football and dick cartoons. It was mostly funny and occasionally douchy. Now it's mostly douchy and occasionally funny. Half the posts are some form of "[fill in user or board] is stooopid!" It's not about being thin skinned or wanting well-considered assertions. That shit is boring. Why would I want to go to the 9.95 board to read a bunch of douchebags complaining that the football board is dumb? If you don't like the football board, don't go there. Also, too, SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT IT. The same thing happens with Futureman. It's become a douchebag rite of passage to talk shit about him. Futureman's bit isn't really my thing, but he's better than half the posters on Surly he doesn't parrot the same fucking thing over and over. If you're going to rip on someone, at least be original about it. You want more engagement? Ratchet down the douchiness. P.s. Even when I'm not logged in, I have an ad blocker so I never see ads.
  15. I don't follow Virginia Tech at all, but it's got to sting a bit to be 5 point underdogs to Marshall.
  16. I'd really love to hear a single concession the Big 12 has offered to Texas. Or a single instance of Texas attempting to exert "hegemonic control" of the league.
  17. We need a meta-roller coaster graphic for aggy - it's the same roller coaster for players, seasons, coaches, conference affiliations, etc. It looks exactly the same no matter how far in or out you zoom.
  18. This is probably an unpopular opinion, but I thought the refs last night were more incompetent than biased. The three yard spot may have been the worst placement I've ever seen, but was way down the list of plays that could affect the outcome. The DPI was bad, but they called Wyoming for OPI in the end zone and took points off the board. Don't get me wrong, they were shitty. I just didn't get the sense they were shitty in a way that gave either team an advantage.
  19. Sark's first season and the early last year, we'd score early and then blow the lead. Now we dick around for 2 or 3 quarters and then turn it on. Hopefully we find somewhere in between.
  20. Well that was ugly. On the bright side, when we needed guys to step up and make a play, several did. These are the types of games Texas managed to lose the last few years. But Worthy stepped up, Brooks got it going, Barron make an incredible stop, we got a pick 6. That's progress.
  21. I agree. Everyone has PTSD from him starting at defensive end. He's a pretty good linebacker coming off the bench.
  22. Why are you thinking about his asshole?
