  1. NZ taking some frustrations out on Namibia over that first game loss to France
  2. Was at the post office in the same center so decided to try it for lunch. Ordered with the app. BLT, Fries and iced tea. Was ready in 5 minutes or so and pick up from the lockers was super easy. They forgot the tea so I had to find an employee to fetch it for me. Got home after a short drive. BLT was fine. Fries were clearly not fresh and soggy so needed re-heating. Full cup of lukewarm iced tea with zero ice (not requested that way). I'll give them a few weeks before going back.
  3. From today's SABJ. Still saying it's in the Bee Cave neighborhood (which I guess is sort of correct [but not really] since that area is known as Bee Cave Woods).
  4. I don't understand why the owner of that center hasn't developed more pads on 290. Or sublease the parking lot to a car dealer.
  5. Alien invasion
  6. actually it will just be overcast with smoke from wildfires
  7. My favorite memory of the Hobby Building was right after they acquired it and, needing upgraded A/C because of the huge number of TDI employees they shoved in there, dropped a huge cooling unit right on the sidewalk between the south (adobe) building and 3rd Street because they're the State and can do what they want. You just have to assume that Stratus paid big bucks to get that eyesore moved when they constructed the W.
  8. Just wait until they finally finish the connection of Barton Skyway across the Creek!

    Mexican

Back in 21 I started making reservations at popular restaurants a couple of months in advance (3 or 4 for really difficult ones like Red Ash and Hestia). I just calendar the dates with a reminder popping up a week ahead of time. If we end up having plans I cancel since I know they'll be able to fill the table. More often than not I forget about it until I get the reminder. Helps that we're empty nesters and and most of the time I make the reservations for mid-week and not weekends.

El Alma is fantastic. Suerte and Este are great too, but getting a table on Saturday night at this late date may be difficult.
  11. Who are you calling those people///
  12. Talk about burying the lede. You need to expand on this! And I agree with ztejas. I've lived in the hood since 92 (20 years in West Lake Hills proper; shoutout to Mayor Anthony) and before that went to the movies at the building where the Mall Polvos is now (that was sliding down the hill into the Mopac row before being demolished), and it's always been known as being in Westlake. And while I haven't checked lately, Dillards used to own their premises in fee simple like they do in many other regional malls, so I assume that's going to throw a wrench into any redevelopment plans. And I'm really waiting to see what B&O do with Brodie Oaks. That's a cool looking project if they can pull it off.
  13. @YGIFS so is this place ever going to open or what?
  14. When all I have is your office number. But fair point.
  15. People who - call me back without listening to my voice message - call me back when i text or email instead of responding by text or email by text or email - call me also people who go to the grocery stores in groups of more than 1
  16. Start at 21 second mark for mini golf
  17. Back in the mid-90s, when Enchiladas y Mas was on the I-35 southbound service road just north of Dean Keaton, they had a portable tube tv in the corner tuned to the Rush Limbaugh show during lunch hour. First place I heard of Mega Dittos other than the 360.com board. That's all I've got.
  18. Just had the Los Primos plate. One relleno, one tamale, beans and posole. Outstanding as usual.
  19. I’m actually in Angel Fire right now. Was in Santa Fe Thursday through Sunday. Tons of food recs in Santa Fe. We did Tomasitos Thursday and the Cowgirl Friday (they also had a great band on the patio which was a plus). If you’ve never been you have to go to the Shed. I’ve also spent a ton of time in Taos and it’s worth a day trip but not worth an overnight except in ski season. Orlando’s is the best place in Taos for NM Mexican food. There’s also a cool local brewery with an outpost in town. And if you golf the Taos course is legit with great views of Wheeler. Since you saw Oppenheimer go to Los Alamos and check out the museums. And Bandelier is close by. And Madrid is always worth a stop
  20. I've eaten at most of the Austin ones, including the ones that are closed. Also, my wife's a Tri Delt, so there's that.

    Burgers

if you could combine C&A's burger with Dan's curly fries and Billy's beer selection I'd never go anywhere else again. And I'd die within 24 months.
  22. Do the Highpoints backwards and see how far you can get. My brother just did Mt. Sunflower in Kansas. He said it was a nice walk through a cornfield. https://www.peakbagger.com/list.aspx?lid=12004
  23. From today's SA Biz Journal in re: Digital Whataburger

    Pizza

Not really any onsite parking. The space is very small too. It's great for grabbing a slice for lunch or take out, but I don't know that I'd make a special trip downtown with a group to eat there. Particularly this time of year. When it cools down they do have outside tables.
