  1. Yeah, I just don't understand the continued idea that we're not going to be back to (fairly) normal very soon. Just back of the napkin math: Right now a conservative estimate is 100 million with existing immunity via having had the virus. 1 million vaccines a day. Accounting for the vaccine being 90% effective, and accounting for ~30% of vaccinations being "wasted" on people who already have immunity, that means every day we add about 630,000 new immune people. At that rate, by April 1st, 65% of Americans over the age of 18 will have immunity. If we increase our output to 1.5 million per day which is not only doable but probably lowballing it some, that number is 74% of adults. These estimates are likely on the low side of reality, because they're also not accounting for new cases between now and April 1 which would be a few million more. By April 1st, here's what things are going to look like: - 2/3 of adults in America have Covid immunity - Almost every senior citizen (who wants it) vaccinated. Everybody with risk factors who wants it vaccinated - Hospital admissions are going to be almost rock bottom, onesy-twosy type stuff. - Deaths are going to be the same way. Near-zero regionally. - The weather will be warmed up which helps transmission If ya'll think we're not opening up basically fully at that point, ya'll are insane. Memorial Day is going to be the biggest party weekend our country has seen in a long time.
  2. I think it's almost a certainty that concerts will be back by then. I've got tickets to the Black Pumas on Memorial Day weekend at Stubbs and I fully expect it will happen. These venues won't survive losing another summer.
  3. I imagine there are a nonzero amount of vaccinations of body builder types who have 30+ BMI and qualify as 1b via obesity, which is pretty funny.
  4. They are reporting normally and on a daily basis now. Hopefully we're on the downside of cases from the holidays which means hospitalizations will follow in the next 10-14 days.
  5. Can confirm that it's pretty easy to skip the line if you know the right person. Group 1b will basically end up being "high risk people and also family of doctors or anyone in leadership in healthcare". (I did not skip the line. I will once we're vaccinating all groups)
  6. I haven't been following all of this as closely lately but I've seen this talked about. If that's true, is there anything in place to stop a scenario where Rs have the house and senate and impeach (without convicting) then vote to bar a first-term Democratic president from future office? This seems bad.
  7. Everyone who complains that you can't hit hard in the NFL today should take notes from that 3rd down tackle. That's how it's done cleanly.
  8. The hot takes this week have been epic. It's like the entire football watching world forgot who Mahomes is and what he does just because the Chiefs half sleepwalked through the regular season and other guys got the media hype this season.
  9. Nice post. Dems underestimate the truck driving PFG shirt wearing Hispanic population in Texas. They seem to either not understand its existence or just don't have a good grasp of what drives that population. The problem is that demographic is basically lost to Dems. They aren't getting them back. At least not the ones I know. That plus the incoming Republican messaging shift towards the "party of the people" spell trouble ahead for Texas Dems. I don't think this state will ever be purple. It's a mirage. The only way to make it purple or blue would be to abandon all gun issues which won't happen.
  10. Rodgers wussing out of running reminded me of Favre doing the same on a 3rd and 5 in the 2009 NFC CG. Time is a flat circle.
  11. Cashed it as well. But I only bet it because I think Conor is a bitch and I'm pretty drunk. I convinced myself that if I drank bourbon it meant 'Merica. I wasn't wrong..
  12. Absolutely. Not trying to take anything away from him at all. He wrecked shop.
  13. In UFC anyway where a height advantage can mean a size disadvantage in a weight class. He looked like a ball of muscle compared to Hooker
  14. Chandler is that dude that obnoxiously bench presses more than big tall guys because he only has to move the bar three inches per rep
  15. Rep for the working link @youdunnf'dup Hooker got KTFO
  16. The link I'm using is still working nicely, if anyone still needs it shoot me a PM.
  17. No but I'm capable of recognizing patterns as are you.
  18. What? It's been 17 games. Or are you excluding games that he sat out for no real reason?
  19. Nothing says offense like the SEC and nothing says defense like the Pac 12!
  20. Some real maturation of our program being shown here in that we're not waiting several years to force our head coach to fire the shitty coaches they hired. Good work CDC.
