  1. late reply but exercise equipment is also incentivized to lie about the calories burned. If one stairclimber said you burned 250 calories in 30 minutes and another showed 200, the average person will prefer the machine that offered them 250. It must be better, right? If your competitor is returning 250, change the algorithm on yours to 275.
  2. so 3-6 against the rule enforcement. Why isn't that enough to move forward with the recommendations? They have to be unanimous when it comes to rules against themselves? They only need a majority to rule over us.
  3. I hate local govts adding more laws and regulations on us but people suck. If they would take the plastic bags home and dispose of them correctly, mayors wouldn't pass laws like this. Trash rant incoming. We can't have nice things without the govt regulating us more. I live near a park in Houston where they recently improved/expanded the size of their playground. Which is fine but the increased number of parents/kids using the park has led to a tremendous amount of trash that they fail to throw away. Why bother walking 25 feet to a trash can to dispose of a dirty diaper when the parking lot is a fine alternative. The place is a low grade landfill somedays.
  4. so in summary the Korean president is unhappy with his party's parliament ouster via an election so the military is going to remove the new parliament. Not good. For those not following South Korea, they're a relatively new democracy. They were under control by an authoritarian military from 1961 - 1987. Only then did the people have a say. Not CR but this is a good reason why a military should not have personal loyalty to a president but rather the constitution. I would argue that having military and their leaders slightly in opposition to the president is a good thing if they at least respect and obey the chain of command.
  5. I'm still surprised almost 4 years later that Trump didn't offer blanket pardons to himself and his family member for unnamed crimes dating back as far as possible. Even if those pardons were later successfully challenged in court, it's not like the pardons would have harmed them. I fully understand that the constitutional scholars are fairly in agreement that a President cannot pardon himself. But it wouldn't be illegal for Trump to attempt it and SCOTUS ruling on such a claim would always buy Trump time.
  6. Interesting how so many of them only become interested in the truth when faced with large financial liability claims in courts. Rudy or Alex Jones' financial fates are one of the best results in the last few years. I'm perversely rooting for Elon to continue going after govt individuals before he officially joins the govt. He has zero protection coverage when he's naming people on Twitter today, and arguably he won't even when he is holding some fake office next year.
  7. Would have been great if the mentalist would have predicted that weigman’s days at A&M were quickly coming to a close.
  8. A&M has done a good job of being the QB starter school for others.
  9. Weigman will enter the transfer portal next Monday when it opens. He will want to land somewhere for the spring semester. late reply to some earlier posts but A&M’s overreaction to losing to us is just that an overreaction. They went 8-4 for a first year coach. Wasn’t Sark practically the reverse of that. 5-7 or 5-8? I understand that our rise in the SEC and nationally is painful for them but that’s how it is sometimes.
  10. Texas. The anti-science state.
  11. My main question is why now. It could just be a thought of “sooner rather than later” is preferred politically but I’m not sure I see the benefit. Or who knows, maybe Biden realizes that it’s not impossible that he could pass even within the next 2 months. was something coming up soon with Hunters case that would put him in prison soon? as far as why pardon Hunter, Hunter is a POS. I have no doubt he committed more crimes that could easily be discovered in the next few years under a Trump doj.
  12. There was always a zero percent chance that Biden wasn’t going to pardon Hunter. what president is going to walk out of the office without protecting their child?
  13. I will die on a hill saying that the Chris Mullin-Patrick Ewing era was the pinnacle of college basketball. It felt like ESPN had a colossal Bkg East game every other night, or the ACC did. I concede that I was 12-13, and couldn’t get enough of college basketball at the time.
  14. I imagine that Abbott is going to take something like this as a challenge and look to pass a law where the question isn’t voluntary and lying is illegal. when you point out a loophole to a rule maker, they close the loop hole. i also expect a project veritas type group will send some Hispanic looking people, with hidden cameras and mics, into one of these hospitals to catch an overworked ER register telling them to ignore the question.
  15. As a non-parent, and that isn’t changing, I sit back in amusement at parents who bring their multiple, <5 yo, kids to a bar for college football games. Just a constant cycle of yelling, throwing things and eventual crying. Kids not the parents. The meltdowns look to occur when the child is told no for the first time im not judging you but others are. lol. I can see why the parents are getting drunk or at least one of them.
  16. Love college football but I can’t watch game day. Prefer catching about ~5 minutes of highlights either during the broadcast or later. I really don’t see how someone sits thru 3 hours of it.
  17. Bonfire was an obvious tragedy and I understand trying to give meaning for the death of those students but I was always disgusted how some Ags played the story into their own mythology. Those 12 should all be living normal lives today instead of dying for a rule breaking bonfire.
  18. Whew. The btc recession of Nov 25-29 is over. Until the next one.
  19. The police can just as easily submit questions to a suspect’s/person-of-interest’s lawyer. Not talking directly to the police might make you look guilty to the public but thats 100x better than going to prison.
  20. But you don’t have to be in the top 0.5% to do well under Trump. But if you’re just someone that gets by on your paycheck or SS check. You’re screwed. For those who fit that description and voted for Trump, too fucking bad.
  21. Growing up Holliman was one of those guys that you recognized on many tv shows or older movies. I distinctly recall him as the cook on forbidden planet. He asked Robby the robot to duplicate his pint of Kentucky bourbon. Robby came back with many pints. I also believe he was the star of the twilight zone debut episode. Lived to 96.
  22. When I slightly wonder if I should feel sorry for him, I recall how he tried to ruin and perhaps have others violently harm the election workers.
  23. Yeah but it beats the 90 minute trip to HEB on shepherd.
  24. Many of those sites no longer allow US users to log onto their accounts. And the account may not longer exist but you can attempt to log on. At one point, they advised customers to download reports but that was years ago. If you know the date that you purchased or roughly the month, you should be able to get a decent idea about the cost on coinmarketcap.
  25. As for the doctor telling patients not to answer the citizenship question, he's putting the hospitals' tax exempt status at risk. Not-for-profit hospitals and their employees are not supposed to participate in politics. For employees I mean in terms of representing the hospital. The doctor could make a political statement on his own but he's risking his job if he describes himself as a TCH doctor. And even if the govt is ultimately unable to punish the hospital or healthcare system, it's stupid of the doctor to risk his employment by making a political statement. Now if he's not representing himself in any way as a TCH doctor, then I don't think he's in the wrong. Or he could advise patients on the law of ignoring the question and the lack of consequences but he shouldn't give his recommendation. just my 2 cents.
