The best part of that is that Ricky ran a 4.38 and was the fastest player on the field when we had the ball.  So we watered down the field to slow down their defenders who couldn't catch him anyway.  Yawn.

I remain puzzled why I carried an umbrella with me that day.  I mean, I rolled into Sholz around 9 AM for some early beers, and almost misplaced that fucking umbrella a few times.  Carried it with me to the game, and put it under my bleacher seat.  Carried with me BACK to my car with some beer stops along the way, where I almost lost it a couple of times.

I have no idea why I was carrying a fucking umbrella with me on such a nice, sunshine-ey fall day.  Stupid 'sip.

If any of you need to get your hate warmed up, Ricky is about to break the record against aggy again on LHN.

I need to head over to texags and check out the inevitable "they watered the field, it didn't rain at all that day" thread of bitchassedness.

  3. "Executive authority".

Remember the hysteria over President Obama allegedly issuing an historical number of executive orders?  Yeah, let's look at that.  It turns out that Obama's average issued EO's per year was the lowest since Grover Cleveland's first term.  Grover.  Fucking.  Cleveland.

Trump is outpacing Obama by 54% to date.

I know, fake news, false facts, DO SOMETHING!!!

  4. -- I shouldn't be shocked that a sitting POTUS openly advocates for one press outlet and against another, but I am

-- let's not lose sight of the fact that all aspects of Justice and Intelligence are of the opinion that Russia not only interfered in our election but did so to help Trump.  This leaves Trump with no choice but to (a) lie and say otherwise and (b) point the finger at those very governmental institutions as being "partisan" and "biased", which of course they bend over backwards to avoid (not to mention their ranks are chock full of Republicans).

It's bad enough that POTUS does these things.  It's infuriating and terrifying that a large part of our populace is either stupid enough, treasonous enough, or both to buy it.  Fuck them.

I think some of the older folk still have memories of the GOP as being something wholesome and good so they're willing to give them the benefit of the doubt while continuing to bend over backwards. They don't want to believe the old GOP really doesn't matter in today's age against Trumpism.

I'll buy that -- you just described my in-laws.  They're in their 80s, and my MIL in particular is a hard-core Baptist conservative.  My FIL is a little more flexible -- he has an art degree from UT, for crying out loud -- but just the other night he was equivocating about how all the stuff Trump is doing was done in the past by almost every President.

  6. Quote

Ask Nebraska about the sips if you do not believe other Aggies.

Oh, please tell me they're referring to McCoy's pass OB that clearly landed with time on the clock during the 2009 championship game.  That would be the classic Aggie angle -- taking on the fortunes and woes of another team entirely in order to make a (stupid) point about another team (most always Texas).

I want to try and avoid painting Republicans with the broad Trump brush.  It’s the same mistake the Republicans made when they vilified Democrats as progressive communists that should be put to death, according to the hardened Trump supporters.

I know there are some good ones out there but I can’t deny the GOP has been completely subverted by Trump/Putin.

You're making a distinction that largely doesn't exist.  If Trump's rise had been more like a coup, you'd have a point, but when the vast majority of Republicans vocally support the man, it is correct to call their party "the party of Trump".  Their words.  Let them own them.

Stop bending over backwards to appear objective, because you're going too far.

  8. Great article.  Thanks.

I've always enjoyed Steve's music.  I never understood the backlash.  It's well-written, well-performed, and hooky as hell.  The guy has a ton of talent.

  9. Yeah, it seems almost every time I go to the Seychelles for a little R&R I end up running into a shitload of people I know, and usually some Russians, too.  It's frustrating.  I'm gonna have to pick somewhere more obscure and out of the way soon.

DDA=Drunk David Ash=a fan with hippie flowing hair and beard wearing a David Ash #14 Longhorn Football mesh jersey.  He strategically has placed himself, most of the season as well, behind the plate where the LHN field mics(and cameras) can pick up his nearly constant mid to late game cheering on the team.  He is both an embarrassment and a treasure in an almost cringe-worthy way.

Que?  He's not an embarrassment at all.  We need more DDA.

Y'all do know he didn't really feed his uncle to starving dogs, right? That was some old school fake news. Some Chinese satirist just made it up, a shitty paper in Hong Kong ran with the story, and now we think he's an even bigger asshole than he really is.

Yes, because he only executes people with antiaircraft guns.  He's just misunderstood.
