  1. Let's see if your genius brain can work your way through this.
  2. I drink the Trader Joe's boxed reds from time to time. They seem fine to me, nothing spectacular but I am not enough of a vinophile to give a damn.
  3. Fire Marshal just reported that it was indeed a propane explosion in Great Hills.
  4. You should have framed that as a question.
  5. Not a bad tackle by Milroe, though.

Yes, across from the hospital. I recall a happy hour marg that was drinkable, but not exactly Fonda San Miguel or even Guero's level. I've honestly never had a meal there that rose above "eh", but unfortunately it's kind of a middle ground for my wife's big family so we probably end up there once or twice a year. I mean, it's not BAD, it's better than El Mercado, it's just generic.

The sad thing about Santa Rita is, it's in a great location and I actually like the vibe. It's just the food that is forgettable.
  8. Auburn, yeah. He might not have looked great against UK, but he only gave up 1 earned run in 4 2/3 innings, so he was effective. (1 ER in 7 2/3 innings against UGA.) I hope the extra day of rest gets him right before A&M.
  9. "cult following" lmao. Maybe one guy consistently stans for Quinn. Most people are reasonable and understand his strengths & weaknesses. Quoted again for emphasis: So you'll come back and address this gem when he gets drafted, right?
  10. The post office needs to issue stamps in the shape of guitar picks.
  11. I suppose it's a coincidence that the entire Final Four is on that list. Where do Tech donors get their money? Mostly oil?
  12. There was a tangential argument about athletes from one school never/sometimes/always hanging out at another school's tent. I regret my part of that.

I had the ground beef nachos. They were . . . nachos. The pair of 512 IPAs helped.
  15. LMAO. You just have to love it. Fuckers.
  16. Gotta win this one. Can't lose a lead this late in a series that's this important.
  17. Burger purists crack me up, and they come in all kinds. I worked at Wendy's for a couple of years, the toppings were (recited in order, always) mayo, ketchup, pickles, onion, tomato, lettuce, mustard. Pickles, lettuce and mustard was far and away the most common order. Mayo & ketchup was second. After that it was dealer's choice.

No way. This is an annual celebration of my wife's parents, both of whom passed in the last couple of years. They are WAY old school Austinites (my wife and most of her siblings were born here, Austin High holla) and El Mercado was the family TexMex joint. Can't change history. I'll live.

I eagerly await the scowls of disapproval over my alcohol intake coming from my Baptist preacher in-law.

Yeah, but you enjoyed the dirty mopwater ambience, right?
  22. I'm not particularly optimistic about this series, given Auburn's recent hot streak and our injury situation. A 2-1 series win for the good guys would be a relief.
  23. Oh I agree, and didn't mean to imply otherwise. I don't know if they'd have to flip the actual broadcast teams or what. It seems like a solvable problem.

And? Any recs for something edible at El Mercado (Burnet Road)? Not my choice, it's an in-law thing I have to attend. I hate that place. Straight tequila?
