  1. I do. Just got it in December, I'm already bonus eligible. I guess that is what happens when you book a trip to HI. The Citi Premiere also has an 80k bonus. If you want a referral link to either one let me know.
  2. I discovered the fun of taking my parents car in that middle of the night in summer when I was 14. We did it for an entire summer. Had an elaborate system for getting the car rolled down the street before starting it, duplicate keys made from a MI-like scooter run to the store from a friend during Baboon family dinner, etc. One night during a torrential downpour with half a dozen girls in the back we drove through a big deep puddle in the neighborhood. It was fun, let's do that again. Car stalled. Shorted out the entire electrical system in my Dad's sweet ass red Pontiac Grand Prix. Hoping it was just a temporary thing and trying to play hero I told everyone to stay put and hoofed it home in the rain to steal my parents OTHER car to drive the girls home across town. Only my mom was up reading when I went in, no idea the car was gone. I panicked and took off and next thing I remember she pulled up in the rain in the other car to the broken down vehicle and all of the girls went scattering into the woods. I'm still not sure how they got home. I was not allowed to talk to them or anyone else for a very long time and I also had the pleasure of getting my very first job as a bus boy to pay the ~ $600 bill for my dad's car.
  3. I have no opinion on the fence. Grocery guy is kind of an asshole, within reason. I could let you slide with 13 in a max 10, or if you had duplicate items. Made me think, though. Am I an asshole for using the (no limit) self checkout at Kroger for big shopping trips if there are people behind me? They usually have a 12 and under self checkout as well so I don't feel so bad. Maybe I should. But probably not. Plus I'm fast af.
  4. On the one hand if you know you love it there, go home. But on the other hand what you fear will absolutely happen.
  5. Please people check out a gentle leader before you go down the pinch collar route. It is more effective than any kind of harness or collar I've ever used. I'm disgusted with myself that I used a prong collar on my dog in college. https://www.petsafe.net/gentleleader
  6. I do believe she was on something else. My malamute started having seizures at 6 or 7 years old, ultimately deemed to be a brain tumor. This was about 20 years ago. They put her on phb and it was brutal on her liver. She turned into a zombie dog. She was a big dog (> 100 lbs) but not as big as Weezy. I guess pheno is the initial go to still. I had to help get Louise to the vet a few months back during one of her episodes as her Dad was out of town (he actually works for the Pistons, so sad that he is in Paris for what should be a cool experience and has to say goodbye over the phone to Louise in the middle of the night). Let me tell you it is not easy to carry a 160 lb St Bernard from inside of her house to the back of a vehicle in the driveway, but I digress. That was the first time they put her on pheno. She seemed to adjust ok after a few weeks, probably due to her size. Her parents told me a few months after that the pheno wasn't really working so the vet had her on something else, and had also given them some shots to administer at home in the case of another cluster. Very sad stuff, I'm still broken up about it. I kind of hope they get another pooch soon, for their sake. Not to forget about Louise, but to have something new to channel their energy and love into. It helps, for sure. I feel selfish being this sad about it when she isn't even mine. I can't begin to imagine how heartbroken my friends and their kids are. Way, way too young. What a loveable dope. I will miss her so much.
  7. Goodbye to my stepdog Louise aka Weezy aka Weezers. Love this girl. My boy loved her just as much. We were the only family crazy enough to take her in when our friends would vacation. Hell we hated giving her back when they came home. Only 2.5. She started having seizures about a year ago and they kept clustering and happening more and more frequently. She was dosed up on phenobarbital and everything else but nothing could stop them. Her quality of life grew too poor to allow her to keep suffering after another mega cluster today that would subside for an hour and then repeat. Her Dad is unfortunately overseas currently so my wife had to be emotional support at the ER. Yet I am the one crying. I hate having to say goodbye to these creatures so much. There are worse things in life I just can't currently think of any. Devastated for her family. RIP Weezy.
  8. I didn't realize that liking The Imperial Palace was an option. Though I did once throw a shoe off of a balcony there into the pool at Harrah's next door.
  9. Probably will surprise absolutely none of you that I have a Scooby Doo tattoo. I got it when I was 16 in Daytona Beach. It has aged wonderfully. Anyway, I agree, fuck Scrappy.
  10. First thing handed to me when I crossed the finish line for my marathon was a beer by event organizers. Best beer I've ever had in my life. This was Chicago so ymmv.
  11. @Francisco 2.0 I think I mentioned upthread. Check out Marin Deck. It skins Tweetdeck to make it mobile-friendly. It's not perfect but it's better than Twitter.
  12. Maybe some nice cooking/BBQ stuff? Solo stove? Ooni? Wsm?
  13. Count me as one of those who will probably be done if they truly cut off 3rd party APIs. I don't like the interface on the native app. Talon and Tweetcaster both went down. Tweetdeck still works great on desktop but it's not great on a mobile browser and I'm on desktop less and less these days. I did find an app that seems to skin tweetdeck better for mobile for the time being (Marin Deck) so I guess that will work for now.
  14. They are so far and few in between that I shall also use this thread to celebrate good commercials. Hulu's new promo with the Bear reference. "Are you watching the Bear without me?" I'll leave it at that but I LOL'd.
  15. So we're really trying to do The Heights again 20 years later with a 50 year old Jamie Walters/Ray Pruitt? Man I fully bought into this being a mob show, not a promo for an acoustic guitar heartthrob's new release on Spotify. How times have changed but they really haven't. How do you talk to an Angel?
  16. Same issue with Powerbeat Pros. Fucking annoying. I've learned to press them back into the case before I take them out to put them on to make sure the white light is on and not the red, but if it's the red then I'm still SOL because I'm ready to leave to go somewhere I intend to wear them and now I have to wait 30 minutes for them to charge. That's an impressive sentence.
  17. It's not the bourbon. It's the stuff you eat after the bourbon. Add 30 min of moderately intense cardio and keep drinkin. Sorry not sorry to be an enabler
  18. Zeroing in on two separate Maui stays with a short jaunt to Oahu in between. Looking like Papakea for the first part and I'm looking at Honua Kai for segment two. Anyone familiar with Honua Kai?
  19. The padlocks on the trash cans is a nice touch in the latest installment of becoming your parents.
  20. Starting to poke around at accomodations. I have a solid lead from a friend but thought I might ask here, as well. Ideally would like an independently rented (VRBO or Airbnb) 2 bedroom villa/condo in a resort with beach access. Papakea is where they stayed and it looks pretty good. If anyone has any recs on either specific properties or general locations, would love to hear them. Kids 10, 13 We will swim in a pool more than the ocean but ocean front is nice No golf
  21. Additional random opinions that don't need to be shared but I'm on a roll. I don't like Chiklis. Obviously I don't like his character but I just don't like him as an actor. He always seems so typecast and forced. I thought he played a good asshole as Herc with an ounce of empathy but since then he's just always an asshole with a bad accent. His underboss is Chandler Bing's younger cousin who got beat up a lot in grade school. I also appreciated the appearance of Archie Manning to instruct Dwight on how he was hip to his game.
  22. Yeah. I really like it, but the plot is advancing suspiciously quickly and it is becoming more reliant on shootouts and such. They aren't spending as much time developing characters and storylines as they did in the first few episodes. It's funny because a lot of people complain about things like the above in lieu of more action, and I'm a 90s action movie buff but in a show today I really like all of that development. I do really like Tyson's character and I'm gonna be pissed if he gets dead. I also like Teller (I think that's his name, the bar owner). Hell I even like Bodhi and Amber had a nice little moment in this last episode. Hopefully Dwight gets a cell next to Kurt Russell's.
