  1. Went on a quick run this morning and am paying for it now. I showered off immediately after but every time I step outside the headache starts to creep. Just really sucks when perfect running weather means a mega dose of meds.

  2. I don't know why this stuff still amazes me, but amaze me it does. A few weeks ago Trump said, on camera, in front of witnesses, that he unequivocally would not blame Democrats for the shutdown, and tonight he unequivocally said the exact opposite, and none of his people give a shit. They just kiss his ass more and defend him more strongly. It's just so nuts to me that this is our reality now.

Sometimes I wonder if he just has some fantastic blackmail material on every GOP senator and that's how he's able to do and say what he does. Maybe they were all members of a secret sex club at one point. Maybe they all bear the Dark Mark and must do as he bids when he calls them. Etc.

  3. Bummed that we missed the happy hour by a hair, along with the chance to meet some of y'all, but other than that it was an amazing night. I've been to a lot of football games but that was the most fun I've ever had. Love my Horns and I'm really hoping we get to go back to New Orleans next year.

  4. I think there's about as much a chance of there being demons as there is a chance of a god(s) existing. (I'm agnostic and I'm not being snarky - I really have no idea. It's a big universe out there.)

Have y'all read anything on autoimmune encephalitis? There's a pretty good memoir about it from a woman who was diagnosed in her early 20s, and because it's so rare, doctors are now starting to think that some people accused of demonic possession in the past actually had the disease because the symptoms align with what people thought possession looked like. It's a quick read: Brain on Fire.

My entire life's worth of experiences tells me that you're wrong about this. Most women I know will say exactly what you said, but when it comes to taking action out in the real world it's a different story. If you're rich, the majority of women will put up with your shit for a very long time. If you're attractive, most women will put up with your shit for a very long time. If you're rich AND attractive, most women will put up with your shit for a very, very, very long time. No matter how big of an asshole you are. And I'm not even saying there's much wrong with that, it's evolutionary. It's just annoying when women put up this hilariously false image about what they want in a man, and then are perplexed when men who fit that false image are upset to find that women don't actually want them.

I said "for a lot of us" to account for those who'll date assholes if they're rich/hot. But the point is that we're not a collective group who share one hive mind, and that kind of thinking seems to be about when incels start going down the redpill path.

If you (the general you) are constantly rejected by women, it's worth stepping back and considering whether or not the calls are coming from inside the house.

  6. These dipshits really don't get that you can be attractive and have a job and all these other traits that look good on paper, and still, acting like a dick can negate all of that. I may start talking to you because I find you attractive, but I (and most women) can tell if you're an asshole after a few minutes of conversation. For a lot of us, that'll end it right there, your pretty face and fat paycheck notwithstanding.

Also, and this is kind of tangential, but I hate being called a "female" instead of a woman. It feels almost...dehumanizing, I guess. Definitely not high up on the list of things to be righteously offended by for sure, but it's annoying.

My only concern would be if the councilman had been sending the pics unsolicited, or some Favre-ian attempt to 'persuade' someone's sexual interest. Seems to me he could have exercised better judgment with regard to content on the internet, but unless it was a child or was unsolicited, who really gives a fuck?

The article doesn't say if the councilman is married, but I am assuming he is not. As a citizen, that would matter to me.  Again, could have used better judgment, but hardly a crime.

    He's not married. And this:

Some defended Coburn and agreed that he had done nothing wrong but was instead a victim of bigotry. Others claimed his sexual preference was irrelevant, but said what he did was “immoral” and that as a councilman he is held to a higher standard than the average citizen. But unlike other politicians’ sexting scandals, such as that of former New York congressman Anthony Weiner or Texas congressman Joe Barton, which had involved adulterous, predatory, or even criminal acts, Coburn had legally exchanged his photos with a consenting adult under a reasonable expectation of privacy. There was confusion among commenters over what Grindr is, and some mistakenly believed Coburn had posted the photos in a public forum.

Of course, it's never a good idea to post suggestive pics anywhere if one plans to be in the public eye, legal and consenting or not, but I guess this kid had to learn that the hard way. In front of one of the less forgiving populations he could've picked.

  8. This goober is in a cone for two weeks because he chewed on a spot on his tail so much it got infected. He's never been in a cone and I gotta tell you, it was one of the most pathetic things I've ever seen. He stayed like this for a long time, just staring at that toy, since he couldn't figure out at first how to get it with the cone on.
