  1. Incredible I was in the camp of 'well maybe it still works for them because he's a good football mind,' then I looked up his offensive rankings... Almost as many years outside the top 50 in points per game than in the top 25 for his career. Best finish without Lamar in the past decade was 52. Last FBS offense was ranked 122. Significantly worse than I had been thinking.
  2. Y'all need to calm down. Our roster is in a good spot. I've got us for 10 wins next year even if we don't add a transfer. Assuming X stays, the offense depends far more on Quinn's development than a transfer WR. Most discussion seems to be around the defense though. This staff is going to develop players. We've got a lot of options to replace Ovie.. I haven't given up on Crawford at safety either and Holmes gives us a lot of options to move guys to that spot. PK has fielded elite defenses with far less talent than we'll have on campus in a month. It was understandable to doubt him last offseason, but personally, he's earned my trust back. They stood by a far less proven roster last year and it worked out great.
  3. Moore enters at the 30ish with the other guy at the 33ish. Pushes him out at the 12. Angle adds 3.78 (triangle would be 51 yards along sideline and he's about 20 yards inside (if hashes are 18 yards in)). We don't know where the pursuit actually started though. So let's call it 7 yards.
  4. Love it. Throwback to this classic
  5. I think this is generally a good way of looking at how our coaches are involved with recruits. But also consider that you're asking people to tattle for any scenario that doesn't play out like that.
  6. Y'all are forgetting the biggest benefit of the NLI. All the other staffs have to back off. After 2 years of bs I'd want some peace and quiet. USC has gone after Worthy twice. They've poked the bear plenty. Miami went after Derek Williams. There was also that one tweet about Hill possibly visiting the final weekend, though I'm not sure if that was legit at all.
  7. 2019 was our last decent class, though it turned out to be a disaster. De'Gabriel Floyd, David Gbenda, Marcus Tillman, Caleb Johnson, Juwan Mitchell, and Roschon Johnson.
  8. It's not about loyalty to a shoe. Look at how basketball shoes are marketed. All the star players have their own line of shoes. Stars will generate hundreds of millions of dollars to whichever company they choose. People think Nike may have lost a billion when they lost Curry. So there's a ton of incentive for these companies to get in really early with guys so that they can sign them once they get to the NBA. It's not about loyalty to a shoe, it's about getting paid a fuck ton. It's mostly a basketball thing, but it wouldn't surprise if some of the brands were willing to help some of their schools get a jump start on a couple key football prospects. Louisville makes sense as a program that is down but could garner some national airtime if they get back up.
  9. In basketball, shoe brands spend a ton of money to get kids to their schools. They'll pay for AAU teams, parent jobs, big houses for the families, give cash, etc. The reasoning is that highly ranked guys in basketball have a quicker path to the NBA and are more likely to pan out, then the brand has the inside track to signing an NBA star. It's not as big a factor in football but maybe it happens some. ETA: This stuff has been around for years, it's not an NIL thing. Maybe that's the avenue for it now but it's not new. And every shoe brand does it.
  10. lol this is my favorite part. We'd heard about him being on the basketball team and even competing to stay for the spring. This isn't what I expected. "In the midst of all that back-and-forth from the industry, where he is ranked anywhere from the top overall prospect to top 10 overall at the lowest (as of late August), Manning was a reserve for Newman's basketball team. Listed at small forward, Manning would cap his third season on the hardwood with a state championship while averaging just better than a bucket per outing. Everyone who watched him play says he was just fine with being that role player on the roster, with one onlooker calling him the best cheerleader on the team, even. "
  11. I wonder if there are any Ethan Burke-like possibilities tomorrow
  12. Bit late on this. Keilan filled the motion guy role for us this year but I don't think they'll recruit a RB/APB type for that. At Bama Sark used Jeudy, Waddle, Smith, and Metchie for that. Personally I think Niblett could be incredible there.
  13. Hill reportedly committed during the visit - hadn’t told the staff previously. I don’t think we should read too much into this staff’s twitter.
  14. Wat. Ojomo was a beast this year.
  15. God damn, I don't think the tears about us joining the SEC will ever be beaten, but the way they're turning on each other right now is up there
  16. The defense will literally implode. LBs and DBs will claw at the Earth, trying to escape as they're sucked into the vortex where our DTs should be lining up
  17. I don't expect Murphy to declare early but he'll be eligible next year and it could all come crashing down if he leaves lol
  18. FWIW Maitre is graded a 63.0 by PFF. 6 PBUs is pretty decent. For reference, Thompson was at 75.7/6 and Cook was at 66.1/3 for us this year.
  19. lol KKL and Petrino on the motocycle is quality
  20. My man, the very first subtitle in the contents of that link is about how it's not part of UTSA.
  21. I'm in a public administration program, so not BA, but I think being a college football player would give just as much experience as my couple years of working. You'd learn a ton about organizations being on a team like Texas, and NIL would also be a big learning experience.
  22. Anybody that doesn't have multiple pages for their ignore list is doing it wrong
  23. It's a busy recruiting weekend for the Texas Longhorns. As visitors being to arrive, Head Coach Steve Sarkisian whips out his photos app. "Oh hey there 5 Star Recruit, welcome to Austin! My name is Steve. I'm excited to be able to tell you about the Texas Longhorns. But first, let me show you these screenshots. Can you believe that AgSince39 would say that about A&M players and recruits!? Quite rude, if you ask me. Now go on ahead for a tour of the stadium with Position Coach. I'm going to show this here photo to more of your peers and I'll see you after!" "Hello again 5 Star Recruit! I hope you enjoyed the tour with Position Coach. Now that we're talking again, let me show you this screenshot of what InSalesOfWk88 said about their QB playing through injury. Oh, position coach already showed you that one? That's good. We make sure to take every opportunity to show you these screenshots. Have you seen this one of LoochNutsYum? It is extra vulgar. Oh, you'd like to commit? And it's because of the screenshots? Well I can't say I'm surprised; LoochNutsYum works every time. Go that way and tell them you committed so they can make your graphic and let 247 know to bump your rating." 'Muahaha,' Steve thinks to himself. 'It's a good thing Jimbo and his staff are so virtuous. I can't talk good, scheme an offense, or coach QBs like him, but he can't match my subterfuge. Those Aggies are the best fans in sports - and Kyle field is a marvel of engineering - but by making fake TexAgs accounts and saying mean things, I'm able to turn their greatest advantage - the Vaunted 12th Man! - against them. Bwahaha what a ruse.'
  24. The bigger red flag to me is that he's one of like four freshmen that didn't play a snap this year. I think the others were Maalik, Trevell Johnson, and Derrick Brown.
  25. He's not talking about Jimbo. The guy he's responding to has "RIPBIGDOG" as his bio
