  1. Is Brandon Campbell the one that's a lock? IIRC there were two guys that were supposed to be locks that we offered over the summer. I want to say Campbell and a LB
  2. The flip side is that Liebrock is the only one that was a competitive recruitment and Beck seemed like the primary guy there.
  3. I think ctj has a point that OU is also a super unique situation in that they had 2 heisman winning QBs + Hurts transfer in (plus they haven't had the talent across the board to win a CFP game yet). He just went full ctj in communicating it.
  4. Rivals article is still up. From some dude named Josh Helmholdt
  5. Random complaint here but I hate #UTDLine I always see it as #UTD Line not #UT DLine Maybe it's because I'm from Dallas and have a bunch of friends that went to UT Dallas Also just for the record the Hester news is coming from the Midwest Rivals guy
  6. Also I'm not sure if this has been mentioned but Roach mentioned on the LHB podcast that one of Fillinger's high school coaches played for Todd Orlando at Utah State
  7. Suchomel put out a lot of details about Broughton's recruitment
  8. I'd call him a poor man's JaQuinden Jackson I disagree with the idea that a guy will take as much punishment as Sam if he's a similar athlete. Sam seeks out contact more than most running backs. There have been tons of successful dual threat QBs that aren't built like Sam.
  9. I wouldn't hold any reporting on Broughton against anybody He was pretty clearly telling people different things so that he could announce it when nobody was expecting it
  10. Interestingly, Fillinger is our first out of state commit after so much success there last year and this idea that we were going to be a national recruiting brand/power this cycle I can't even think of anyone out of state that we might add, though I'm sure we will find a couple more
  11. Maybe I'm in the minority but I want Stone much more than Milroe
  12. There was a Rivals article this week with an tOSU mod talking about some national prospects. He said they looked good for both Ransom and Robinson. He added that he felt better about Robinson than Ransom. Ransom committed within a couple days. Take that for what you will as you try to talk yourself into us getting Robinson.
  13. Do we really have to discuss what is and isn't a silent again? It's not that hard y'all
  14. So not add more fuel to the flames in here, but the other day on Rivals they had an OSU mod talking about their national recruiting. He said he felt more confident about Robinson than he did about Ransom. First I had heard about it like that.
  15. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that basically the exact position Leal was in last year going into his senior season? Then he balled out and earned his fifth star
  16. I agree that Washington and Naivar seem to be struggling a bit the last two cycles. Can't really deny the fact they have both missed on a lot most their top targets the last two years, especially Naivar. Williams, Richardson, Catalon, Washington, maybe Ransom, maybe Alford. Kimber, kind of Ringo, maybe Rogers, Jones. Maybe they really got a big boost from the first year bump and Houston connections in 2018, but I think they're good recruiters and good coaches regardless. Washington especially. I also think they're in a weird spot of having to sell guys on joining a full depth chart without also being able to show NFL success yet. It's not like Bama DL where you can say "come sit for 2 years then go in the first round." That said, we're obviously fine at DB. They are both really good at evaluating and recruiting Plan B and C guys and there are also many more of those guys than DL or LB.
  17. I mean, he put out Lake McRee's and Quay Davis's right before their commitment BC doesn't always put them out as soon as he gets a commit and I'm sure he'd hold off if a kid asked, but he does send them out right before announcements sometimes
  18. I feel like I should add that I'm just saying a couple cycles of really strong showings could sway opinion enough so that we don't assume we're losing every DL. I was just answering the question about what it would take for his name "not to be mud." I don't think Giles will ever be a plus recruiter. And again the context around all the recruitments will be pretty important. If 20 and 21 both go down like 18, we'll still be dogging him even though our DL room will be in good shape. Drayton and Beck both had their reputations totally reversed in two cycles. It can happen that quickly.
  19. Yeah I don’t really know how we’re doing with 2021 DL. I just named the guys I could think of off the top of my head. It’s also super early so who knows how it shakes out.
  20. It wouldn’t take that long. Broughton/Collins this cycle and a good haul next year (say a couple of Sanders/Jackson/Burris/Adeleye) and I’d be pretty neutral. Of course context matters. Broughton and Collins both have ties to Texas that are helping Giles. They’re recruitments we should win. And we’ll have to see how BC/Samples and other coaches are involved with them and others. Those factors will play a big role in Giles opinions. But generally, 2 great cycles will at least be enough for us to not assume we’re losing every DL battle.
  21. I'm with futureman here. Obviously not the same carpet.
  22. The question wasn't about biggest rival, it's just who considers us one of their rivals.
  23. 1 might not play again and 2 are JUCOs. Taking 1 isn't good for this class.
