  1. IP ban everybody with less than 1162 posts
  2. Vernon Jackson might not play football again due to a neck injury. I assume the jumbo ath DL you're referring to.
  3. A) It's not. I actually hadn't heard about the job thing until it popped up on this board a couple days ago. No clue if it's true. B) And if the job was given with the intent of getting him to play for UGA it would be a violation.
  4. So many straw men being built in this thread. The good posters here didn’t complain about bagmen for Kimber or Lindberg. There’s a reason we’re saying that for Ringo.
  5. College Station is a great town! It's so much better than Austin! --Aggie that doesn't live in College Station
  6. That's him Everyone said we were a strong favorite when we offered. Then we backed off with other guys on the board. He's been an A&M lean since. But now that we've missed on those guys we're circling back.
  7. Haha you put $ instead of S that's really clever
  8. Such says Bijan is announcing at 2
  9. Everybody knows this was a dumb post, but I like how you made it after that ESPN blurb on the Brock bros that had a quote from Blake saying exactly why they're visiting so many schools and that there's even a quote about how the kids may not want to be taking so many visits.
  10. I have a hard time calling any of them whiffs since I'd define that as recruitments like where the staff did something negative to mess it up. But I'd say that all but Richardson are him just getting out-recruited. That's not to say he recruited those guys poorly. He could have done well, but someone else did better. Like I said I think Naivar is a good coach and recruiter--I believe he was Broughton's area recruiter--but I also think he may have been overrated after 2018. But obviously I want to wait and see how these 2020 guys shake out.
  11. Kimber, Rogers, Lindberg, CTjr, etc. aren't guys that are worth really panicking over if they go elsewhere. However, if they all go elsewhere, it's reasonable to be concerned. I posted this 2 weeks ago. Since then, we officially lost Ransom and Rogers and we might lose a guy that I didn't even mention because he was considered a lock. In the 2019 and 2020 cycles Naivar is batting a combined .250 on guys we heavily pursued. (missed on Cine, Williams, Richardson, Catalon, Ransom, Washington; landed Adimora, Owens). Plus the two guys he landed were looking at Boise State and Baylor. Not exactly highly contested recruitments. Now he's stepping up to the plate for Alford, CTjr, and Thompson. Honestly though it doesn't matter how many guys you miss as long as you land some of them. If Naivar goes 2/3 then he's fine. I don't want to put the cart ahead of the horse here because I still think we land CTjr--it just makes way too much sense--but I also don't get why there was an entire page crucifying satya for voicing concerns. Actually I do get it. Dallas and negative recruiting aren't really issues in my mind, but the fact he's a bit concerned is fine.
  12. Orlando's ability to quickly install his defenses at all his stops is a good point I hadn't considered. 2017's defense was elite but had a tendency to gave up some big plays. We don't have the same talent at LB as that defense, so our ceiling is lower, but it's definitely still a positive sign. Lately I've been starting to think that Coburn might be the most important non-Sam player on the team next year. If he steps up and starts to command consistent double teams, I think that gives Orlando more freedom to play around with personnel. Put another way: I think Coburn could be the key to having a defense with Overshown/Brown on the field rather than Dele. I'm interested to hear if others agree/disagree.
  13. UH gave up 70 to Army. They'll need a lot more than 40. I'm not counting on them to even keep it close.
  14. Wow, his dad needs to back off. Let the kid go where he wants. I hate when parents get involved in the kids recruitment, unless their last name starts with B or R. Otherwise let the kid make their own choice.
  15. It’ll be interesting to see if we get back in with Eaton. IIRC we were pretty strong favorites back when we offered
  16. The one thing I thought was missing from Bowman's hudl was tackling, but he mentioned in an interview with Suchomel that he's moving from corner to safety this season and he's glad he'll be able to play downhill more often and improve his tackling. I love it when kids have an understanding of things they need to improve on. Also his hudl song choice was a classic so I'm giving him bonus points for that.
  17. The real newest narrative is that they’re scheduling FCS schools in order to supposed lower tier football. They make us sound like charity. Whatever would the FCS schools do without the generous and altruistic Texas A&M Aggies?
  18. I’d been wondering what LV stood for
  19. I knew their run game was bad, I just didn’t realize it was that bad. Also it’s kinda sad that ours improved so much last year and still ranked behind theirs. Part of that was the use of the QB run in short downs and our general ball control style, but still. As for rankings, in my mind JT Daniels wasn’t a good QB on paper. Even though he was highly ranked, a reclassified true freshman screams team weakness. That’s where I’m coming from.
  20. “The Trojans were a better team in paper than LSU” is the part that I disagree with pretty staunchly. As for rushing offenses, they’re pretty similar so an argument could be made there. I looked up their rankings and LSU was a lot worse than I thought. LSU ranked 81st last year in rushing S&P+. USC was 78. We were 98 though so that’s depressing. I know LSU signed two really good backs last year that are supposed to be instant upgrades at the position.
  21. Sorry, must’ve missed it among all the other important discussions /s
  22. Looks like a DT from Willie Tyler's JUCO visited yesterday
  23. His mom told OB they want to decide soon, before his fall practices start. Maybe this weekend.
