  1. Ive seriously only ever heard horrificIy negative things about gristmill. It sounds like the oasis in Austin in terms of service and food quality
  2. You sound like a fun person.
  3. They’re the only major pro sports organization in the world that has never had a last name appear on any variation of a jersey. Seriously. They also actually did invent numbers on jerseys as well.
  4. The rule is no hair below the lower lip. Hence Austin Wells’ mustache currently. Other teams can have their players looking like unemployable bums but that doesn’t fly with the Yankees, and I would hope Texas doesn’t abandon it ever either.
  5. The best part of ST is seeing if the prospects you’ve been following can hold their own at that level. I creamed myself when George Lombard Jr homered last spring
  6. This. The Yankees set the standards for both (no names on jerseys ever and no facial or long hair). It’s a tradition that should be expanded on throughout the sport. No individual is above the team, and you represent the team with class and respect. Kids look up to these players, and as a man there’s nothing “respectful” about having hair down to your neck or a beard. You should take pride in your appearance.
  7. Same teams every year. Go to Arizona though, all the spring training sites are right next to each other in Phoenix. In Florida they are spread across the entire state.
  8. The best one was way back in season 1, with the axe murderer guy from Laredo. To this day the most genuine killer they have interviewed. He was a genuine psycho but he made no qualms about it.
  9. Too me it did get a little better the episodes after that when godzilla showed up and as they dove deeper with the 1950s storyline. But objectively, no it did not get better. I’d say the best episode was the pilot. As a big time godzilla fan I just felt compelled to ride it out anyway. And I’ve got a monster in my pants that Anna Sawai can check out anytime she wants, if she thinks she could handle it.
  10. Monarch LoM Season 2 has wrapped up filming.
  11. What a horribly written article. Please tell me it was AI
  12. I’m pretty surprised to read about how many people on here have gotten massages. I seriously thought it was something only women, the insanely wealthy, or gay dudes did (nttawwt). I’ve never gotten one in my entire life except from someone I was dating. I can’t imagine paying for that.
  13. There’s a new Capitol grille opening up next to J. Alexander’s at I-10 and La cantera.
  14. 27 titles. Exactly 0 are tainted by sign stealing or any other kind of allegation. Sorry your team sucks.
  15. I’ll start watching our team only if she comes here. But everything I’ve read is that it’s between Tech and LSU. It’s funny I get painted as some radical misogynist but I’ve probably paid attention to women’s basketball longer than anyone else on here. There’s been great documentaries about it over the years (The Heart of The Game, the shoni schimmel one, No Look Pass). I remember Amber Ramirez bursting on to the SA basketball scene as a high school freshman, her hitting 7 three’s in the state title game, her playing at TCU. The problem is the sport is ONLY worth watching if there’s a compelling story. You can’t watch it just to enjoy it, because it’s not an enjoyable thing to watch. It’s not like other sports.
  16. His demons must’ve been going at least 2-16 in conference play.
  17. I mean, not really. The games are brutal to watch. I watched the Iowa-LSU game last year. The whole game was Clark chucking up 3’s and LSU feeding their technically unsound big girls downlow. No one had any real skill at all, it’s a pretty unwatchable sport.
  18. Imagine the final score if the men’s team played the women’s team. I don’t know that the women could keep it within 60 points.
  19. Wrong sport there. It’s not basketball.
  20. Not even close. The prime time slots and games right now are more about political shoehorning than genuine interest. Clark was a flash in the pan thing, but now that she’s in the pros viewership has waned significantly. Go look in the comment section of any Instagram or Twitter post when women’s sports is posted on an ESPN or big sports account. It’s 75% “no one cares, why are you posting this”.
  21. Not sure who my favorite player on the team is between Flores, Galvan, Mendoza, and Rodriguez. I’ve known of Flores and Galvan since they were in high school but A-Rod going deep in his first game is pretty special. Dude has a bright future here.
  22. That park is where Lauren Bump got murdered while jogging about a decade ago.
  23. Some surprising depth to Milchek’s character.
  24. It’s special to make it to the MLB no matter what team. But does anyone give a shit that they play for the Brewers, Dbacks, Rays, etc? Of course not. But being a Yankee actually means something, former players say as much and how different it is. No kid grows up imagining themselves playing on the Padres or the Astros. You grow up dreaming about being on the Yankees.
  25. Dramiga was 100% murdered in the greenway. She went for a walk in the greenway and never returned, body was found a day later on the trails. Police are saying she was ambushed in a random attack. Castillo was likely a random killing as well but it’s not as clear, police have not called it random yet. And now I’m remembering a 3rd murder on the greenway about a month ago, homeless woman on the NE Side. But that one is harder to count as it was not on a trail technically https://www.kens5.com/article/news/local/reward-crime-stoppers-san-antonio-bexar-county-investigation-salado-creek-greenway-trail-stacey-dramiga-reward-information-case-arrest/273-01340f57-9e7e-4468-9bee-dbbd6bf3d72f
