On a full count you can. Maybe if he had known the umpire was a literal Red Sox fan that had money on the Astros and was trying to make the Yankees lose he would’ve swung.
Sounds like a possible racist as well. Seriously, Manfred needs to get involved at some point. Last night was so egregious and the talk about the umpiring is all over social media today.
That’s going to be the most lopsided umpire scorecard of all-time when it comes out. The MLB absolutely needs to investigate that ump for gambling connections, like they’ve been investigating pitchers for prop bets lately. He literally took a win from us and gave it to the Astros.
Haven’t followed you guys much. If you are still a team with a pulse we are absolutely fucked. I am dead inside and Aaron Boone and Brian Cashman murdered me.
Special shout-out to this guy, who joined the UTRGV program as a day 1 walk on and worked his way up the depth chart to get some carries in the opener, and scored a touchdown late in the game.
Arch played terrible and was pretty clearly overrated, but it’d be hard not to be at that level of hype. 2 things that give me hope: that Livingstone TD pass, and his final play where we came up short on 4th down (seriously). Unblocked rusher, play was completely dead, but Arch fought his arm free and still completed an accurate throw while being dragged down. That’s a playmaker type of play.
I’m amazed that people thought Belichick was a great or even good coach. Was outright horrible without Brady, while Brady went out and won without him easily. Almost all of his assistants turned out to be terrible HCs. Nothing else needs to be said.
Wouldn’t expect much out of Livingstone or my Sanchez INT pipe dream honestly. Michigan laid the formula down the past few years, to beat Ohio State you run it into their teeth and then run it again and again until they submit. Is Sark smart/confident enough to try that this time? I don’t know that we had the personnel or matchups last year for it but I think we do now.
I’m not predicting anything, but I *feel* like we are going to overwhelm them. They have arguably the best overall college player this season in Smith but for the first time in a long time the rest of the team is lacking. He can’t do it alone. I also kind of hope Devin Sanchez gets an (inconsequential) pick at somepoint, I’ve followed his career a while and it would be cool to see him announce himself in such a big game. Hopefully Arch can toss it all over the field besides that though.
Remember when the PGA tour thought they could ignore LIV? This is the exact same thing, and the MLB would be wise to explore some collaboration or partnership imo.
SA scores of note:
Johnson - 45
Judson - 7
Johnson is legit but the dismal tide continues for Judson, staring down the barrel of an unthinkable 5th straight losing season.
Laredo Alexander - 48
SA Marshall - 14
Priest Holmes weeps.
No offense but MMA had a rep in town while I was growing up of just being a school for fuck ups from rich families. It seems to have shaken that nowadays but yeah the days of 19 and 20 year olds on their roster are long gone. A couple years ago the Harlingen JV beat the MMA varsity squad. I don’t even think MMA has a JV team anymore.
