  1. TX High school football kicks off today, meaning it’s Helobious Poll time: 1. PSJA North - Fully operational valley death star. They don’t rebuild anymore they just reload, with abnormal size and speed for an RGV team. They appear to have built up an efficient youth and middle school football recruiting operation as well, conveniently getting a lot of talented kids ready to play as freshmen. 2. Los Fresnos - Returning a 4 year starter and Mexican Michael Vick at QB in Robert Piñeda, they’ve got offensive firepower to hang with a lot of teams. Gave Buda Johnson all they could handle in a close playoff loss last year. 3. Edinburg Vela - The sun is setting on the Vela empire, but this time I mean it. Solid team returning, but they’re replacing a QB as well. Defense should be stout. 4. Weslaco - added sophomore transfer Malachi Rodriguez from rival East high. He’ll add to their mix of offensive weapons alongside Chris Luna. 5. Brownsville Vets - Need to replace a really good QB, but should have a great defensive unit. Also gave NB Canyon all they could handle in a 3 point playoff loss last year. Darkhouse: McAllen HS. They’ve got decent size up front and some playmakers, they could be an unfun team to play come postseason.
  2. I actually watched his manifesto video. The guy was apparently trans, wanted to kill trump, was obsessed with guns, obsessed with mass shooters, praised far-right politician Brandon Herrera, and had multiple anti-Semitic and racist things written on his weapons and cartridges, including “6 million wasn’t enough”. Definitely an ideological wild card. Above all you could tell he was an edgelord that viewed himself as really cool and funny.
  3. Look at his stats and tell me to my face he was a great college QB.
  4. Laguna: “Simms was overrated” Also Laguna: “Eric Crouch was a great QB”
  5. Ehlinger’s game-ending pick in OT vs Oklahoma state his freshman year is still the worst throw I have ever seen a QB make given the circumstance.
  6. I was under the impression the project would build a new arena and a bar district surrounding it, I didn’t know it included the Alamodome and convention center. I actually don’t see the final four as a big loss because it’s too sporadic to make a lasting impact, but losing the annual events would hurt quick. I’d still like to see an independent study done and the spurs to hold up their end of the deal. I’m not as dead set against it as I was before.
  7. It was panicky cops detaining an unarmed person.
  8. Cops are currently saying they’re unable to verify that any shots have been fired. Looks like false alarm
  9. You can argue about it being a cultural loss for sure. A loss for the city’s bottom line? Very hard to imagine.
  10. I don’t think it would be a loss at all if they moved. No one comes to SA just to watch a spurs game. The locals that go to the games don’t spend any money outside of the arena because there’s nothing out there, so the spurs moving wouldn’t be a loss on any local businesses. Losing fiesta, losing the rodeo would be a big loss. Not so much the case for the spurs.
  11. Ok. Southwest, central, and northeast Arkansas were all hideous. I extrapolated that to meaning the whole state is ugly. Maybe I’m wrong. I thought southwest Missouri was much more beautiful, huge trees and rolling hills and cliffs.
  12. I drove through Arkansas on a trip from Texas to Illinois several years ago. It’s one giant shithole and the 3rd ugliest state I’ve ever been to after Oklahoma and Louisiana. There was a poster here that would always hype up NW Arkansas and I always thought he was completely delusional. Maybe the trailer parks up in that area are fancier than what we have here.
  13. It’s a tiny town on the clear opposite end of the island from Honolulu. I have no idea why you would choose to play there over St Louis or Punahau.
  14. Kahuku in Hawaii has gotten several high-profile Polynesian players from the US mainland to transfer there in recent years. Not sure how or why those kids even want to move there.
  15. I will not tolerate Chien-Ming Wang erasure
  16. That was the most subdued championship celebration ever.
  17. The main actor in this was actually a walk-on receiver at Florida State for a season back in 2017. Hopefully that means the football part isn’t laughably bad
  18. The total abandonment of the “don’t field a punt inside the 10” philosophy in football over the past few years is baffling to me. Like coaches forgot how to do a risk/reward analysis.
  19. Why are these teams ranked?
  20. Lol, I see you’re part of the YouTube/tiktok video generation of football savants that never played that have popped up the past couple years. I played QB in high school and I couldn’t even tell you the difference. All I knew is when I took the snap whatever DBs were back there were about to get beat the fuck deep.
  21. We’re cooked if this does go through. We could be spending that money on infrastructure, road expansion, flood control and social services. Not a free arena for a billionaire ownership group.
  22. I think the simplest thing and what they’re going to do is pretend 2025 is year 1 of the rotation, 2026 is year 2. So everyone plays the same teams in 2026 as they did the prior 2 years. That gives the conference 2 years to come up with a new slate for everyone in 2027.
  23. I missed the part where the Rockies handed $88 million to an unproven lottery ticket at catcher, after their last superstar catching prospect just completely flamed out.
  24. As usual, in the winner’s name I will take $100 from my personal checking account and donate it to my personal savings account at the end of the year. Last year’s winner was Ryan Estrada. Chingon Trophy Watchlist Jermaine Santana-Diaz - S, Fort Bend Ridge Point (SR): Committed to Colorado State for some reason, over some better offers IMO. Sidenote, Ridge Point has a fuckton of FBS offers on their team. All just to get bounced by Katy/North Shore/Atascosita in the playoffs. Justin Morales - OL, El Paso Franklin (SR): El Paso his having probably its greatest run ever of elite talent. Morales (Kansas St), Del Valle QB Jake Fette (Arizona St), El Dorado RB Ryan Estrada (Minnesota) are all P4 commits in this years class. Keep an eye on 2029 ATH Noah Tarrant as well out of Pebble Hills, he already has 7 FBS offers. Juan Hernandez - CB, GP North Shore (SO): Devin Sanchez’s heir apparent is ready to step in for the Mustangs. Has an offer from Arizona State. Ethan Guerra - RB, PSJA North (SR): a difference maker since his freshman year, he’ll probably have a 2000 yard season in this run heavy offense. UTRGV better take notice. DK Garza - RB, Alamo Heights (SR): I’ll say it, he was a more valuable player for them than Michael Terry last year. Single-handedly brought them back into the CC Miller game in the playoffs, including an electric kick return TD. Committed to Cornell
  25. Is there a worser run org in baseball? Jesus.
