  1. Ruth’s Chris’ is always good, so is Longhorn steakhouse and Texas Roadhouse. Perrys at la cantera is about equally as swanky as Bohanons and very good too. But yeah they are all 2nd place to bohanons imo.
  2. If I was a regular person moving from Japan, yes I’d probably prefer living in a place like Cali or Hawaii. But these are superstar athletes. They don’t interact with everyday people. Ichiro and Matsui loved playing in NY, and I assume they loved living there too.
  3. Pujol had a daily menu, and I believe we had 7 courses. It wasnt just a tasting menu, it was probably the best eating experience I’ve ever had. I just can’t imagine shelling out that kind of money for San Antonio food in Southtown. And I read that Mixtli opened in 2021, not sure where you’re getting a decade from.
  4. I bet 99% of San Antonians don’t know it exists either. Reading about it, it looks like it’s only 3 years old and costs $150(!) for a “ticket” to eat there. I don’t know who the fuck would eat somewhere like that here. I’ve eaten at Pujol in Mexico City, so I know fine dining. I imagine there’s similar places in NYC and LA. SA is like none of those places.
  5. Mad Macks on the southside is my fave burger in town. Ah yes, a “this is expensive so that means it’s good” person. Glad you’ve revealed yourself.
  6. Finale was stupid. Only cool thing about it was the hangar scene when Oz smirks at Sofia
  7. Roosevelt freshman team finished undefeated this year and won the district. That hadn’t happened in well over a decade probably. There may be hope for northeast side football yet.
  8. Did people really not know that even the flu can kill young, healthy people? It’s not super common but it happens probably a few hundred times a year in the US alone. It’s always been that way.
  9. The dodgers Japanese pipeline is such bullshit. Is there even much of a flight time difference to Japan from non-California cities? It’s on the other side of the world. I don’t get why they’re all so fixated on playing on the West Coast
  10. I notice his (by 5 star standards) pedestrian numbers. But from highlights his QBs look like a far step down from Ernst last year and the whole defense just keys in on him every play.
  11. I’m going to try to watch Alamo Heights at some point in the playoffs, looks like they will win 2 games before running into the Corpus Christi Miller buzzsaw. I can finally provide my scouting report on Terry, stat sheets don’t tell you everything.
  12. How many third string transfer receivers are the source of significant social media discussion? Exactly one. Tweeting that picture was a smart move exposure-wise
  13. Some place called Mixtli got a Michelin star. I’d never head about it in my life until I saw the list.
  14. This kid is smarter than all the posters on this thread combined. He knows how to push buttons and how to market himself, and knows how true the “there’s no such thing as bad press” mantra is. Everyone is talking about him now and he can leverage that for more NIL
  15. DFW looks filthy this year in 6A. Duncanville, Desoto, Southlake, Allen, North Crowley. Even Euless Trinity is 9-1 with just a one-score loss to SLC.
  16. And people argue over all of this just for most of the state championship games to be one district champion getting obliterated by another district champion. The sport itself is just super unbalanced.
  17. You’re lucky to play in about 20 varsity high school football games in your entire lifetime. Somehow I think these kids will be ok with playing in one extra game even if they didn’t “earn” it. It’s not their fault the UIL put them in a 4 team district.
  18. Del Valle actually is pretty good this year though. Their QB is a 2026 4-star committed to Arizona State
  19. Not really, looks like a bunch of lopsided blowouts. The most interesting ones are at the 5A level imo. Southwest-Seguin. Southwest is actually good and 10-0, they’re looking to go deep in the playoffs for the first time in a very long time. Jay-New Braunfels, can Jay pull the upset? I’ve also got my eye on Burbank-Pfugerville. I’ve been raving about Keven Hernandez on here for 4 years. He’s led Burbank to their first district title in almost 50 years, can he deliver the outmatched southsiders their first playoff win ever (I think)?
  20. People always say this and I don’t get it. Every team could make the playoffs and it would still be the usual ones playing in Arlington at the end.
  21. Colorado had 14 flags thrown on them that game. And they still stomped Tech
  22. Anyone in here have colorado starting 7-2?
  23. Way to be alert on the loose ball, Tech
  24. Florida hasn’t been shutout since 1988. 457 consecutive games.
