  1. Spent the longest 6 hours of my life in Athens airport last night. Due to long delay in Chicago, we missed our connection in Brussels to Corfu. Ended up spending the day in Brussels and had a blast. But then flew into Athens at 1:00 am. Flight to Corfu was at 7:25 am. I had been up for like 36 hours straight I think. I was highly intoxicated and delirious. But finally made it to Corfu this morning. It has been great! Next 8 days will be traveling Albania and North Macedonia, before coming back to Corfu for one more day/night. It is beautiful here.
  2. Rained most of the day today and temps in the 70’s. Skies have cleared a bit, and it’s 86 degrees as I head to an outdoor concert on the beautiful downtown square of Graham. Couldn’t ask for a better weather day on July 1st.
  3. Thanks for the heads up on Iron Horse. Good food, awesome building, great service, and a fun time. Even had live music. How bad of beaches are we talking? Like Galveston bad? A few friends I’ve talked to the past month or so have told me Biloxi has really improved after Katrina. Of course have no to reference point to what it improved from. Are you referring to Jackson or Biloxi? So far Jackson has been fine as far as feeling safe. Unfortunately there isn’t much going on tonight, it seems.
  4. We are staying downtown in Jackson. We are staying at a house on the beach in Biloxi. From the map it looks to be a few blocks from Jefferson Davis house.
  5. Just looked up Pirates Cove. Great reviews and looks good. Thanks. We are driving right through Vicksburg on the way to Jackson tomorrow. I’m all for stopping there on our way through. What makes it worth the detour, if I wasn’t going that way?
  6. We are heading to Jackson tomorrow. Then on to Biloxi for a few days. Any recommendations on places to eat or things to do in either? I have never been to Mississippi. I’m sure surly will say it sucks and full of racist rednecks. I understand that. But there has to be just a few decent places to eat and fun things to do.
  7. Wife and I are going to be in Corfu for a couple of days before heading to Albania for a week. Has anyone been to Corfu? Any recommendations?
  8. Watched both episodes tonight. I didn’t want it to end. Looking forward to the next one. I assume this will be one episode a week moving forward? I know nothing about the book, so I really hope there are no spoilers on this thread.
  9. Flatland Cavalry yesterday at the annual Crawfish and Cannons event at Ft. Belknap. The band was great. This was the first time I have seen them live. If any of you are ever in the North Central Texas area on the second Saturday in April, I highly recommend attending Crawfish and Cannons.
  10. My son, his friend, and I were watching because of the spread. Good on them to put that up where they put the score. None of us bet the game, but we were following the over/under. Part way through the 3rd, we were discussing how we should have bet the under. Then the rest of the game happened. I probably will never bet one of these games, but it did give us a “reason” to watch. I like that they put the point spread and over/under up there all game. Without it, I probably would not have watched more than a few plays.
  11. Booked a trip for January 19-22. Staying at Cosmopolitan for first time. Going for wife’s birthday. We have been to Vegas several times, but this is our first trip just us two. Obviously this is a surly poors question, which means I probably can’t afford it. How do you guys get rooms with good views and whatnot?
  12. Doing Christmas at my mom’s house today. My son is running a tad late. My mom popped off about eating without him. My wife is now pissed. I usually just try to sit in the den by myself all day and avoid everyone. But now my wife is in here bitching to me about my mom. And food isn’t ready anyways and my son will be here before it is. So, all of this didn’t even need to happen. Going to be a long day.
  13. My office is right next door to my house. Office has 6 rooms. 3 I use as offices. The other three I use as bedrooms when people come to visit. Tons of kids at house, lots of adults drinking. No. No way to have sex in our own bed. So, wife and I walked next door to office to get new sheets on bed for in-laws. Had sex instead.
  14. No. They were not too happy with my sex load on the sheets they have to sleep on. oh well.
  15. Picked up my dad from nursing home. Literally took me and three nurses to get him into my car. I was almost in tears and almost gave up. Was ready to tell him I would just bring us both a plate back and eat there. It sucked! But, wife and I just walked to my office to “switch out sheets” for BIL and his wife to sleep. BIL came knocking on door after a while. He and his wife were less than thrilled. Don’t care. Had sex.
  16. Texas - 31 Baylor - 21 Bijan - 236 total yards
  17. Texas - 17 Kansas - 31 310 yards punting
  18. Radney Foster and William Beckmann tonight at a small, acoustic show in Graham. I mainly went due to this thread and the several posts about William Beckmann. He was great! I will definitely be following him and hopefully get to catch another of his shows in the future.
  19. Texas - 38 TCU - 45 Total passing yards - 617
  20. Texas - 24 KSU - 41 Plays - 58 Longest - 57 yards
  21. I didn’t realize they had been playing so long. They are definitely headliner worthy.
  22. First heard them at Crawfish and Cannons in 2021. This was the first year of the event, so organizers were just getting their feet wet. Anyways, Shane Smith and the Saints were the “headliner”. I put quotes, because this was a brand new event and it was small. I said to my wife “They were pretty good. They would be a great opening act for a bigger name.” Fast forward a year. They opened for WCC at Crawfish and Cannons. They were great. I now have them on my music rotation.
  23. I tested positive for N test via Texas Cares this week. This was my 4th draw. My third draw was on June 28th, and I was still negative then. So sometime between June 28th and October 18th, I caught Covid. Not a single symptom I can think of during that time. Last shot I received (which was my third pfizer) was in November of last year. My antibodies kept reading > than 2,500 on all my blood draws, so I did not see a need for a booster. My antibodies on this latest draw are still > 2,500, which was expected after seeing that I tested positive, so I will probably wait 6 months or so to get the booster. The person who took my blood said that they have now been approved for 7 draws (or maybe she said 6). I will keep doing them. If my antibodies drop below 2,500, then I will get the booster. If not, I will hold off.
  24. Texas - 36 OSU - 30 21 receptions - 219 yards
