  1. I guess it really depends on where both Wright and Rojo are as passers. We honestly don't know, so I'd think of it like this: Unless Wright is a particularly more skilled passer, we're probably at an advantage with Rojo. Once we're relying on our 3+ string qb, the game plan should be run heavy. Rojo in as qb introduces more conflict for defending both the run and pass, which should open up more easy running and throwing lanes. In any event we should count on a stacked box, so if we want to rely on running we should add a new wrinkle to help create space. If we feel solid about Wright as a passer, maybe you do go traditional. I'm just assuming that since Card has been anything but consistent throwing the ball and Wright has never even threatened to take the backup role, possibly we have some reservations about him throwing it around. This is all assuming we need a one game fix for UTSA, also. If both Ewers and Card need to miss extended time, you probably start preparing whoever you need to operate the real offense. I'd just rather see Rojo leading a rush heavy attack for one game against UTSA than spend time trying to get Wright ready to run the full offense.
  2. I have a feeling they won't be sending the customary "couldn't believe the hospitality of aggyland" letters after this one.
  3. I'm digging deep for a silver lining, but assuming Card isn't too injured to go, it's suddenly a very good thing the qb competition went as long as it did in camp. At least he's had a lot of quality reps. I know how we all feel about him starting, but there's no way more work with the first team offense in camp hurts his preparation.
  4. I wonder if they're negotiating it. If not, you've actually just valued the next few weeks with the interim coach at around $2M each. Not sure how that works out.
  5. I love Murphy and think it's far from certain that he's never a starter even with Ewers and Manning lined up, but I really can't imagine he's ready. He was a raw project and likely doesn't know enough of the playbook at this stage. Tossing him out there could do more harm than good if he's just not there developmentally. There's a reason he's been listed 4th string despite all that talent.
  6. Rojo is the answer if Card cannot play. Wildcat with Rojo, Bijan, and maybe Keilan in the mix, too. If we're down to Wright or Murphy as our throwing options, we should be running, a lot. We have the backs and our most respected offensive leader to go out and run on UTSA. Honestly would be better for the oline and backs to get reps vs trying to get Wright or Murphy ready to carry the offense.
  7. I was glad he hit the long one at the end of the game. That was a clutch fg and should be a confidence booster. Don't feel the one earlier in the game was entirely on him. Plenty of other reasons for the loss beyond that miss, namely the 2 points erased from one of the most clear safeties I've ever seen.
  8. Is it, though? Their season is over. Sad to say only this far in, but they will not make a bowl regardless of what they do. That team is too bad. So why fire the guy a few weeks early and pay a bigger payout? The rest of this season is about finding someone who can keep developing players and recruiting at some non disaster level while finding the next guy. That timeline isn't changed at all by firing Frost in September vs October.
  9. I have no doubt they've had eyes on him from the day he was hired trying to line up a morality out if needed, but I don't think it will be the recruiting. First, they'd have to admit they cheated to land that class, and second there would be too much collateral damage coming forward about that.
  10. This is the best part of the "fire Jimbo now!!1!!1!" Texags rants. They literally can't because their lawyers actually approved these terms. Every time I read this, I imagine Jimbo's legal team had a side bet to see just how far they could push aggy with one sided terms before they'd walk away. Ends up, as with all things aggy stupidity, there was no limit.
  11. Mack Brown special. Went prevent and gave up a ton of easy stuff thinking the game was in hand. Recall that this man was a mentor to Tom Herman and all will make sense.
  12. [Texags]I heard from a buddy who's friends aunt worked on the queen's medical staff that her final words were "I trust jimbo. He's got the fightin aggy spirit to get this turned around if they just give him the time."[/Texags]
  13. This is why I think the loss of Elko will sting more than they seem to realize. They beat Colorado 10-7 last year, on a td in the last 3 minutes of the game. If CO ever scored one more td in that game, I think not only would they have won but the game might have gotten out of hand. Elko keeping games within one score let Jimbo keep playing his conservative game without really having to ask his offense to go win the game for them. Case and point, Ole Miss went up 9 pts with 6 minutes left in the 4th. Next drive, Calzada threw a pick 6 to put Ole Miss up by 16, and the game was over. Jimbo does not want to get behind by two scores and have to rely on an aggressive offense to win games. Elko bailed him out quite a few times by keeping games manageable. Maybe they've stockpiled enough talent on D that they won't drop off much, but it will be interesting to watch.
  14. His writing is objectively terrible. Hey lucci, since we all know you read these boards, do you write this way because you really don't know how to write, or do you just know your audience caps out at 2nd grade reading comprehension and write like this so they don't get lost?
  15. From Ketch: Yeah, bud, I don't think anyone was too worried about you doing much running.
  16. When asked what made him feel most at home in college station, Bisontis replied "me like they no make big word talk at my ear hole."
  17. Just think, there had to be other pictures from that shoot, and yet they picked this as the best of the bunch.
  18. aggy wet dream: Hey tu, I'm here for your NILs...
  19. That was strong, but I really thought they led with their best material. "Was he in a hurry to get to Bible study" was a great line.
  20. "Jimbo, how are you feeling about recruiting this year?" "How'm I feeling??? I'm feeling great. I woke up this morning knowing I'm getting paid 27 THOUSAND dollars today, regardless of what happens, and anyone who doesn't like how it's going and wants to do something about it is going to need around $85 MILLION to show me the door. So yeah, I'm feeling about as good as my ex-wife's tennis instructor right now. Next question."
  21. Look at this guy throwing stones like he's some kind of hotshot just brimming with money, cars, and a closet full of only freshly pressed tailored clothes... Oh wait. Shit.
  22. I wasn't saying that the situations were comparable. Only that your conclusion requires making some real logical leaps based on a few facts, as does mine. You may or may not be right, but it's hardly a given outcome.
