  1. I always wondered what it must have been like to observe post 2009 Mack Brown from an outside perspective. Now I know. Just amazing to achieve this level of futility with that level of talent.
  2. Just to clarify one thing...there's a lot of "towards the end of the game" or "after they wore down" being attributed to the final score, but that's not really accurate. They scored their last touchdown with 9:30 left in the SECOND QUARTER. From that point, it's a 27-3 ballgame. If you're going to say that we won this because we wore them down with depth, then you are saying their depth was depleted by around 20 minutes into the game. If that's true, then they're just not a very good team due to conditioning. What actually happened is that their guys came in focused and hit us in the mouth, our guys came in coasting a bit and had to wake up. After the onside and score, they clearly had our attention and we outplayed them for 40/60 minutes in the game. This wasn't wearing them down with depth when we started controlling the game that early.
  3. I saw that stat and was pretty surprised by it. Felt like more at times in the game. I'm guessing his average fell a lot in the second half where I wasn't watching as closely. Seemed they were consistently getting a decent push in the first.
  4. He can be infuriating to watch, but that long run probably hurt and also probably sealed the game. You could see in the plays immediately following how fired up the team was by it, and we scored I believe two plays later. The guy doesn't have what we need in a starter, but he's sure as hell giving everything he's got right now. I can be both thankful for his effort, and excited that we hopefully won't need him to for much longer.
  5. Passing, maybe, but they were getting push in the downhill running game. That was surprising.
  6. UTSA oline had struggled until our game, too. Tech will throw everything they have at us. If Ewers plays I'm not worried. With Card, especially on the road, I wouldn't be surprised if we cruise or are in a fight to the end. The team who played bama and the team who played utsa aren't the same. Too early to tell which team we'll get in weeks like this.
  7. My 1st grade son had a college day at his school yesterday, and we started talking about rivalries for the first time. I explained to him why kids at his school who like OU, aggy, Nebraska, Baylor, Tech, etc might all do the hookem down when he does it up. He asked why they don't just do their own school hand sign, which I told him was a good question, and explained that it shows that fans of those schools are more excited to dislike Texas than to like their own school. He said that's weird, and I agreed and gave him a horns up.
  8. He was no Reggie "real deal" McNeal.
  9. Um, in case you haven't heard, they're on the precipice. Been there for quite a while, actually.
  10. Not one fucking person has ever said that to him about midnight yell. Good Lord.
  11. He has already done it. He burned the place down the day they signed that agreement. He pissed on the ashes the day they gave him the extension/raise.
  12. Several others have already said this, but sadly I think aggy wins this one. I've watched their games and know how awful they look and that they have no business winning. They also had no business beating bama last year. This feels like one of those games where the amount of shit they've taken this week combined with Miami being grossly overrated has aggy playing with their hair on fire and able to get it done at home. It won't matter, though, as they're not going to do well in that following string of road games. They are exactly what they've looked like so far, which is dogshit, and they'll still lose a lot of games. I just think things set up well for them to get it done this week. Then they'll crow and feel good about themselves until the collapse starts the following week. I would, of course, reaaaaally love to be wrong.
  13. I'm just happy she's stopped talking about ass play.
  14. Let's not make a mountain of an ant hill.
  15. Because he doesn't need the money and right now he can focus on game planning defense without dealing with the press, boosters, recruiting, nil, managing team culture, and on and on. It's ultimately up to him if he wants to hc again, but for a guy who is financially made, he's almost in retirement just taking on his favorite hobby. You can tell the guy loves football and defense. Right now he's paid to think about that all day without all the other bullshit. We should all be so lucky when we're ready to wind down a bit.
  16. "QB Whisperer"
  17. That would make the most sense, but don't they have a highly ranked recruit who is buddies with King and only considering them bc he's starting visiting this weekend?
  18. I've seen some of these people in the wild, so I can promise you that you do not want that.

  20. Um...the committee hasn't ranked anyone yet. He's not wrong that aggy should be unranked, but this garbage is exactly why the committee says it waits so long to start rankings. I would place a bet that the committee never has aggy anywhere near the top 25 this season.
  21. The tweet says blocked, but unless they're counting the aggy kicker blocking his foot into the turf before he hits the ball, that is inaccurate.
  22. If we're going to need to rely on him, I'm willing to bet they didn't hurt. No one wants Card as the starter, but I'll maintain he probably has a better feel for the offense and better rhythm with his wr thanks to the extended qb battle in camp. Said another way, if you think he looks ill prepared now, it probably could have been worse. Personally I'm not too down on the guy for yesterday. He definitely didn't lose us the game, he just didn't take it over and win it, either. I think we all know Card isn't the guy to do that against Bama, but thankfully he won't have to play them again.
