  2. Unless Tennessee hired aggy's lawyers to negotiate, they're allowed to put a buyout clause in an NIL contract.
  3. No side dishes with our frozen waffles.
  4. Whoops, I'm apparently reading Hornfans.
  5. Rockies so far this season: 40 runs scored - 30th in MLB 81 runs against - 29th in MLB 9 home runs - 28th in MLB 40 walks - 29th in MLB 160 strikeouts - 29th in MLB 21 home runs allowed - 26th in MLB 15 errors - 29th in MLB
  6. It's OK, they have the Dodgers up next!
  7. Just for no reason at all, I'm going to point out that the team record for consecutive innings without scoring is 48, set by the 1968 Cubs and the 1906 Philly A's. The Cubs' streak included 4 straight shutout losses, including 3 by 1-0 scores, one in 11 innings. The last two losses in that streak were to Gibson and Carlton.
  8. The Rockies spam the shit out of me on Facebook, so I've started engaging by replying "SELL THE TEAM" or just plain "SELL." Today, I got this notification:
  9. I thoroughly hate the ONLY 1 TEAM category.
  10. For your mocking pleasure...
  11. No kidding! I mean it's extremely clear they played it wrong:
  12. Well, the regionals were in Fargo, Allentown, Manchester, and Toledo. Whoever is in charge of NCAA hockey is a fucking idiot. The Frozen Four is in Vegas next year and we do have regionals in the Denver area the next two years, but they're of course in a minor league rink in one of the northern suburbs.
  13. I remember someone on this forum years ago arguing that someone (Mattingly?) deserved to be in the Hall, partly because he had more "MVP Award shares than Babe Ruth." Ruth is 100th in Award shares on bref; Cobb (1 MVP in 24 years) is 181st. https://www.baseball-reference.com/leaders/mvp_cya.shtml It's kind of like arguing that Lamarr Hoyt was better than Cy Young himself because he won more Cy Young Awards. This is something I've gone down a deep rabbit hole on a few years ago. I've never found any really specific details on the rules, but my best guess is... I think it goes back to the MVP originating as the Chalmers Motors award, where the winner got a car. There was a rule against repeat MVPs for that (how many cars do you need in 1910 anyways?) and I guess that when that company went under and MLB took over the award, they kept the rule for some reason. It wasn't a rule everyone on the MVP voting committee followed, because Hornsby finished 3rd in '27 after winning it in '25. Somehow though, Ruth got 0 votes for his '27 season. And actually, I'm wrong above -- Walter Johnson was the first to win 2 MVPs, though the first one was the Chalmers and the second was the MLB award, and I wonder if the MVP committee didn't consider the Chalmers award to be a real MVP... And if you've never read about the 1910 controversy, enjoy: https://tht.fangraphs.com/the-chalmers-award-had-a-memorable-debut/
  14. There was a long time where if you had already won an MVP, you were ineligible (not sure if formally or informally). Ruth only got MVP votes in 4-5 seasons. First to win multiple MVPs?
  15. Frozen Four today! Denver-WMU at 4pm CST and Pedo State-BU at 7:30. Zeev for Hobey!
  16. I seen on fox news that train de agua has taken over buckingham palace!
