  1. Good. Now he's got a limited-lifetime of prison ahead of him to be introduced to older, wiser, white and hispanic men who can give him the Edward Norton racial re-education experience a'la "American History X," just before the Pavulon does the rest of the work for the victims and their families.
  2. This, but if the sound bar has an HDMI input (and supports ARC), you should just nix the optical cable altogether and run HDMI from the ARC-compatible input on your TV to the soundbar. Use the TV setup menus to change the audio settings to an external system. Might also help to disclose model numbers of the TV and sound bar.
  3. Pretty impressive record for owning an e92 M3 for such a long term, given the typical things others went through, like rod bearings, peeling interior plastics, rough M-DCT shifting, worn and open differential clutch pack and projector headlights stuck in high/low beam.
  4. That must have been a 328i, amirite? Signed, former N54 owner.
  5. Cooling components too, especially the E36 and E46 water pumps and brittle plastics, from radiator unions to reservoir bottles. Seems a cooling system overhaul was common maintenance for cars beyond 60k miles.
  6. South Florida isn't even part of the U.S. any longer. Better have your own security detail or Boricua compinches to clear that trip for you.
  7. That’s not “abuse”, it’s just a drive cycle that doesn’t allow the charging system to activate. BMW (and a few others) activate their alternators with engine braking. I’m a dickhead know-it-all and can’t sympathize for those who don’t understand how their cars work. Want to treat your car as an appliance? Toyota makes a shit ton of those.
  8. I don't even give them the credit of building the Supra-- the whole car was contracted with inputs on tuning and sheetmetal to separate it from the Z4. TMNA's HQ is in my backyard and I've ripped on the brand to their associates but it's clear TM is incapable of creating anything beyond appliances now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jbyzmtgU_0Somewhere in this 9/11-explained-like BMW-Supra video the author cocked up to explain all about the Toyota-BMW partnership, a side-story evolves about the Kaizen principles Toyota exercised on BMW to make the B58 engine "Toyota-worthy" of precision, efficiency and reliability....then I'm reminded of the BRZ/FRS and struggle to maintain a straight face.
  9. Replace the battery in the key fob, unless it does that with the secondary fob as well. Some models actually use inductive rechargeable keyfobs but you'd probably know that and would have charged it by now.
  10. Probably not and it was far too watered down to become effective, but a noble step in the right direction to reform healthcare costs (and ultimately who's paying for it). Only the lobbyists won.
  11. The phrase, "This is why Trump," was thrown around on another forum I follow and is a point still lost by the Dems to this day. The foundation behind the ACA was hopeful but its implementation was so poor that it pushed the party-parity-pendulum in full swing, as EU free-movement among a looming migrant powder keg and kettle/toaster appliance regulations in the EU pushed the Brexit agenda. Obamacare is exactly why Trump and now politically-aligned moderates join a similarly small table with libertarians, appearing nearly as crazed to the ill-productive sides of both extreme left and right. Force-feeding opposing-party-thought is why we're here to shitfest, right? Stop labeling immigration policies you don't agree with as 'racism'. Melanin and cultural identity has little to do with it and if anything, is just a war on the poors, assuming someone will be stuck with the check to pay for them. Not-so-thinly-veiled here: https://www.cnbc.com/2019/05/15/trump-immigration-plan-puts-emphasis-on-skills-education-over-family.html
  12. I'd argue work isn't the primary motive for a significant number of migrants who have yet to settle here. Asylum claims have risen 1,700 percent over the last 10 years due to gang violence and worsening economic conditions in El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras. Those nations haven't fostered educations or skills that could translate to much useful work here anyhow, making the U.S. just a slightly-nicer destination to continue persecution. Where does the list of free shit conclude, since they must wait a minimum of 180 days for a work permit from USCIS, assuming their permit for residency passes at all?
  13. That 1GR-FE V6 engine and 5-speed auto were already 10 years old before Toyota assembled your 2018 4Runner.
  14. Disagree, Porsche does it better for driving dynamics but perhaps BMW keeps the crown on ergonomics. The X70 and F15 were porkers on the scales and felt just as hefty behind the wheel. Haven't tried a G05 yet but I want to believe they put it on a slight diet. The X3 M40i is a hoot and well-underrated on power. I don't prefer the looks but it's easy to argue that it's more fun and powerful than the SQ5 and Macan S.
  15. With a production date of 2015, your shit is probably already dry rotted. Finnicky, overrated, heavy and noisy Pirellis.
  16. Why not both? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_temperature
  17. I'd argue better at some products (bipolar and active towers) but probably negligible in others, especially subwoofers. I'm about to take delivery of my DefTech 5.2.4 ATMOS setup and wary of the decision but going with in-walls. Their UIW RLS II for the front stage, UIW RSS II for rear surrounds and DI 6.5 for height (ceiling). Their implementation of sealed melanite enclosures and performance/$ caught me. No idea why they went with open-baffle in-walls on GoldenEar, also multiples more expensive. Subs will be a pair of SVS PB2000 in opposite corners of the room, just 208 s.f.
  18. I replaced my relatively-modern Rain-Bird ESP-Me controller (with WiFi dongle) for the Rachio 3, just to see how much better the app was. The Rain-Bird offered 80% of the digital functionality with just a different methodology of talking to the controller. Both were very easy to use and set up. I found the Rachio 3 a complete pain in the ass to wire up and it made me want to strangle the hardware engineers as they tried to make it too simple. There just isn't enough room to store extra wire length, the magnetic cover is too weak to hold with a bulk of #10 wire entering the controller and it won't accommodate a 1" PVC conduit entering the controller either. I trimmed the pipe with a dremel and tried stuffing as much of the extra wire back into the conduit before mounting the Rachio. Tag your wires with tape and numbers before removing the old controller. If your prior controller uses hardwired power, you won't need the old power wires. My Rain-Bird ESP-Me is for sale with the wireless rain/freeze sensor. I sorta wish I didn't spend the money on the Rachio but it does a better job of predicted rain delays and zone watering times.
  19. Where do we place the cretins who paint or powder coat their wheels black?
  20. Pretty sure that turbo 4.0 in the GTS and Turbo is the same Bentley and Audi derived V8 that went in the S6/7, RS7 and S8. It's a hoot and makes all the right noises. I'd like to see what they've done to improve upon it as the oil separator and turbo supply line are the only big known issues, associated with higher mileage cars.
  21. I'm with you and would have expected 25K or so out of them. It's still one of the best tires in that class and I feel compromises are made when choosing a tire for longevity. Take a look at the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500-- it's sold overseas as the Bridgestone Potenze RE003 and has reviewed well among Audizine and Bimmerforum members. They'll probably save you a few bucks too. I'm looking forward to a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S for a set of HRE wheels waiting to go on the S6. Gotta make a world of difference over the heavy stock wheels and Pirelli P-Zeroes.
  22. That's completely expected, given the VZE camera, rain sensor and perhaps an ambient light sensor are bonded to the factory windshield. Yes, shit's complicated, but no way in hell would I trust a third-party glass shop to replace my windshield with all the integrations built in and delicate trim strips that are intended for replacement, not glued-and-reused. We have insurance, take it only to the dealership or their partner body shop.
  23. Backyard looks awesome! I assume it's a DE filter? You'll want it completely disassembled and cleaned if you don't have documented maintenance history. That Error message is just on the pool temp sensor. Easy and cheap replacement, if one is connected at all. I know Hayward stuff really well. You might have an OnCommand controller, which I have installed. You can easily get a wireless gateway that puts it on your network for remote/web/smartphone control.
  24. My confidence owning/servicing a modern Cadillac is high, but I've been fueling and driving kraut for a long while. It's remarkable how such 'parts-bin-engineering' goes on across the board, even German brands. I've fitted and activated a few EU-spec parts to my S6 with basic hand tools and coded them with a $30 bluetooth dongle, paired to a burner Android phone. A set of RS7 turbo cartridges can be purchased for less than $1500, with a $1000 APR tune that supports the hardware and multiple pump/race fuel options, up to 700HP on the otherwise stock engine. People are crafty and this is the best time to be a car enthusiast before we're all driving semi-autonomous, 5G-peered, full-time-monitored, smart-grid-connected EVs that do everything for us except allow us to be actual owners/drivers.
  25. Is there an option for any form of color contrast with the M5 Competition or does the addition of that option automatically equip it with Nissan Murano Night Edition wheels?
