Same old story. Big and slow. They lumber down the field like a clydesdale. Alabama is Secretariat.

Urban Meyer or bust
He's trustworthy and connected, but he made clear he wasn't involved. His brother is also an alumnus and is friends with McConaughey. They would know people that could pull it off.

Urban Meyer or bust
I'm friends with one billionaire. As billionaires go, he's a decent guy and a Texas grad. He told me just yesterday that while he is not closely connected to the situation, he has friends that are and thought there was an all out push to get Urban. I felt pretty good about things, now this.

Trumpism is an Ebola like infection, and these states are now terminal.

All encompassing PAC 4 thread
Agreed. Defense has made big strides. Great mix of blitz packages and Dulcich has really emerged at TE. I guess Kelly ain't done yet.

All encompassing PAC 4 thread
Same here. I watched the first half. DTR makes me nervous as hell, but his physical tools are undeniable. I was pretty happy with how Griffin played, but Griffin also had a 100% Felton. Now we get to wait and see what happens with the USC game. There's a chance it may not be played.

Alabama Football - Now Featuring Kalen DeBoer
Not long ago I had a conversation with an ex-USC OL lineman, Drew Richmond. He played at Tennessee before becoming a grad transfer at USC. I asked him what it was like playing against Alabama. He said there are two big things. One, they don't make a lot of mistakes, and that they're very well coached. And two, he says the #3 guy coming in is as good as the #1 guy.

2020 Soccer Catchall Thread
Pulisic is the most popular American player, but I believe this lady is the most exciting and most valuable player in American soccer. She dominates on the world stage.

Maradona - RIP
I appreciated his populist views. He went after the Pope and the Catholic church after a visit. "I went into the Vatican and saw that golden roof," Maradona said of his 2000 visit. "And I said to myself how could somebody be such a son of b---- as to live with a golden roof and then go to poor countries and kiss children with a full belly? I stopped believing." "I've been to the Vatican and seen the gold ceilings. And then I hear the pope saying that the church was concerned about poor kids. So? Sell the ceilings, mate!"

Iowa State Cyclones @ Texas Longhorns - 11AM on ABC [23-20 FINAL - Cyclones blow away Longhorns]
- Maradona - RIP
Soccer was a huge part of my life in the late 70's and early 80's. It was the greatest era for professional soccer. I saw Beckenbauer, Cruyff and Pele (when he was with the Cosmos), but Maradona was the best. Unmatched skills and the ability to completely take over a game.- Iowa State Cyclones @ Texas Longhorns - 11AM on ABC [23-20 FINAL - Cyclones blow away Longhorns]

Don't forget the drive sustaining penalties.- What are you listening to right now?

I agree. I'm just going through a list of elite programs and where each might stand. It's obviously an elite program where you can win a title, but for someone like Urban, it doesn't offer as much as Texas.- Urban Meyer or bust
If Urban decides to coach again, there are probably only two schools that he'd seriously consider. Texas and USC. He'll want big resources and a major brand, although I don't believe the culture at USC is a good fit for him. He's already done Florida and Ohio State; OU and Alabama are not options; LSU is trashy and Baton Rouge is a hell hole; I wouldn't see him going to Michigan and facing his old program head to head. Texas has the resources, the brand and is better culturally aligned with Urban.- LSU in trouble?
Shocking considering LSU's high standards.- the trump election lawsuit thread of dominance
