  1. I would say getting patted down most times I fly are a much bigger deal/more invasive than a fucking mask. And a hell of a lot more people have died from Covid than underwear bombs. Yet the antimaskers are apparently fine with being felt up by TSA agents on a regular basis. We do a shit ton of stuff as a precautionary measure. I don't have strong feelings on whether we should keep wearing masks on planes. But my patience for the morons doing a victory lap over not having to wear a few thin pieces of paper over their faces for a few hours is limited, to say the least.
  2. That’s insulting to children
  3. Yeah, I don't disagree. I think the point is more to make them feel comfortable traveling and help the tourism industry. But we spend millions (billions?) on TSA, body scanners, air marshals, and other security theater to make people feel safe. I'm flummoxed that wearing a mask, which is just a mild inconvenience, and actually does some amount of good, at least more good than the fucking body scanners, taking off our shoes, or not being able to take water through the TSA line, is the bridge too far that gets federal court intervention. It's bizarro world.
  4. Oh, I'm all out of shits to give about the greater good. I'll probably wear a N95 on my flight over, and go maskless home.
  5. At least for me, the concern isn't so much getting really sick/dying from Covid. I've been vaccinated and boosted. But I have a big trip planned next month, and really don't want to get stuck thousands of miles from home with the latest variant, and have my vacation ruined after catching BA-2 or whatever the next thing is on the flight over.
  6. I have mixed feelings about the whole thing, so it might be a stretch to say I support requiring masks on planes. But, I think the reason for it is that for the people who want masks there's little alternative. It's not like a restaurant or a store that you just can't go to or choose another store to shop at. You're stuck on the plane. A mask mandate will also encourage people who are uneasy of flying to get on planes. I don't really care for myself, but my stepmother who is immunosuppressed and elderly is flying to my niece's graduation next month. Not feeling great about her breathing canned air with a bunch of others. And I know of more than one person who's gotten on a plane with Covid. Honestly, I just don't understand the opposition to it. It's not a big deal. Hell, i wore a mask on a 12 hour overseas flight with a connection---so with all the airport time well over 15 hours, and it was mildly inconvenient at most. And after years of catching colds every time I flew, that hasn't happened at all post-pandemic.
  7. Yeah, but did he have a laptop?
  8. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they knew they'd be dropping the charges before they arrested her. Mission accomplished on putting women in their place.
  9. That's the goal. If you think the party of Hastert, Trump, Josh Duggar, Gym Jordan, and Matt Gaetz gives a flying fuck about protecting children, I got a bridge to sell you. They only want to rile up the rubes, which they're already doing. And well if poor people have their lives ruined, BONUS!
  10. A lot of poor women will die from back alley abortions. To the current GQP, that's a win. The women Kav or Donald Trump Jr. or whoever impregnate will still have access to safe abortions.
  11. They'll overturn it, and rile up the base with claims that if dems come back into power they'll kill babies and molest infants.
  12. That's the goal. The modern GOP and its Court appointees want to destroy rule of law, and install a corrupt oligarchy.
  13. Fuck. Just fuck.
  14. Stifado (Greek beef stew) with spinach dill rice.
  15. So in other words you found some author with an agenda who scrolled the internet to find nonsense to support that argument, with the most "famous" person tweeting in support of Will Smith being Tiffany Haddish.
  16. Who's excusing Will Smith? Other than apparently some comedian I never heard of who someone on this board went out of the way to locate.
  17. This. I listened to the beginning of the audiobook of Will Smith's autobiography---traveling companion chose it. And he was obsessed by how he hadn't intervened in some situation involving a neighbor when he was a kid. I don't recall it more specifically now, but he went on but his weakness as a child and how embarrassed he was by it.
  18. Except ultimately, Smith wasn't protecting his wife. It was a stupid joke that Rock shouldn't have made, which a handful of people would have heard. Now the whole world knows about his wife's alopecia. Whatever Smith did was for his own inflated ego, not to actually protect his wife.
  19. Yeah. But Hunter Biden had a laptop.
  20. And? I have no idea what your point is other than we should ignore all scientific evidence because health experts were wrong on weight loss 30 years ago. Off to chain smoke some cigarettes and have my knee surgery in my backyard since who the fuck knows if germ theory is real.
  21. Problem with the horizontal stabilizer? Similar to AS 261?
  22. As someone who's definitely not a morning person, this sounds awful. Hard enough to wake up at 5:30 or 6 for work, or get to sleep at a decent hour. All I fucking need is the sun to come up after 8 am.
  23. I was in Egypt in December. Stayed at a resort for a few days that turned out to be mostly filled with Russians. They went crazy for the most bizarre entertainment, mainly a show involving placing a chair over some super muscular guy and then piling tons of people on top of the chair hoping it doesn't break. And many got shitfaced and belligerent with hotel staff.
  24. I'm sure it's real. The tell is that the Fox morons don't know that "stand up" is two words.
