  1. IMO, American lives could've been saved over the past two years by more people helping mitigate risk. But I still believe we'd be in the exact same spot right now regarding Omicron looking forward.
  2. Other two kids dinged on Wednesday. 11 year old had a headache so we tested him - positive. Tested 12 year old because might was well, and he was too. 11 year old's only symptom was the headache which is now gone. 12 year old hasn't had a single symptom. Not one. Wife can't buy a positive test and she's about to pull her hair out having to quarantine for other people. Hell, she must've had it first around the holidays and just not know. kids will be back in school Tuesday and we're returning to normal life at that point (I've already been back at work this week masked and 9 year old back at school all week).
  3. NBA says “ahh, fuck it”
  4. Someone finally got it.
  5. Who do you think smokes?
  6. The NCAA already defines fully vaccinated as having a booster. You can be a 19 year old athlete in pristine physical condition, double vaxxed along with a prior infection and will be treated as unvaccinated if your vaccination was more than 5 months ago. https://www.ncaa.com/news/ncaa/article/2022-01-06/ncaa-releases-updated-covid-19-guidance-winter-sports?amp
  7. My kids play "smear the deer." For real. I guess someone made that change along the way.
  8. Or that it is anyone's fault that we weren't able to so far? We are talking close to 4 billion people.
  9. Gotcha, and it wasn't intended to address you "hiding and seeking". It was referring to Loco's comment about UT faculty that are "worried sick" about returning to campus.

  11. Where in the world did I say don't get vaccinated? I'm talking about people who are vaccinated and likely boosted still playing hide and seek. As you say, people who are not inundating our hospitals. They can either continue to play and seek, which IMO, is not a long term strategy. Ot they can stomach the risk of getting the vaccinated + booster version of Omicron. The latter is a much better way to live life IMO.
  12. If price isn't a concern (probably ~ $1000/night), Bay Lake Tower fits your needs. Basically a condo that connects to the Contemporary Hotel via walkway. So on the monorail, yet close enough to just walk to the Magic Kingdom anyway. A one bedroom villa has a living room with fold out couch and fold out chair beds, so kids can sleep in separate room but under same roof. Also nice to have a fridge and kitchen for breakfast so you don't have to waste a lot of time and money on that. Has its own pool setup but also have access to Contemporary pool area (which is all fine, but not as luxurious as Grand Floridian, etc.) Great place to watch fireworks and water parade from. With kids that age, not the worst thing in the world to get them ready for bed and watch fireworks from the hotel with cocktail in hand. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/resorts/bay-lake-tower-at-contemporary/
  13. The reality of it is most of them, if they are in susceptible and worried, almost assuredly already had a booster. And likely had it 3-4 months ago and have seen that it doesn't stop infections and reportedly wears off in 10-12 weeks. That probably contributes to the fear. IMO, we can't keep boost, boost, boosting to try and play "hide and seek" from infection. Everyone is going to get it eventually and if you're vaccinated, Omicron is the one to get.

Sent down the rabbit hole.....16 years old here.....
  15. All three of my kids were just in 5 day quarantine. 2 for exposure. 1 for infection. One of the exposure boys has a basketball game tonight. Letting him play. The infected one has a baseball practice today I’m keeping him out of. It’s been 5 days, he’s back in school, and has tested negative but I’d be annoyed if another parent sent their kid back that soon.
  16. There is value in just getting it over with. I’m day 6. Days 2-3 I was tired. Days 2-4 I had a very sore throat. No congestion. No fever. I wasn’t really sweating it much before now. My Dec - early Jan were admittedly pretty Covid irresponsible. But it’s a weight off my shoulders to really not worry about it when I re-enter society soon Unfortunately my wife and 2 of 3 kids just wouldn’t test positive. One kid did and he’s asymptomatic and back at school today. The unexpected quarantine was the worst part for me. Well maybe not too unexpected as it’s been lingering over everyone for months just waiting to pull the rug out from under normal life.
  17. Do not understand the Malik Willis love. Watched him play vs Ole Miss earlier this year and he was awful. No clue why anyone would want him over Corral.
  18. We get to mandate other countries?
  19. I imagine Gorsuch is raising the question of how to quantify emergency? How many deaths is the threshold? As OSHA has never mandated flu shots, it must be above flu deaths but less than Covid deaths?
  20. I’m going to show my ignorance here, but if the mandate is ruled constitutional, will OSHA have free reign to also change the definition of fully vaccinated as they see fit, i.e. require boosters?
  21. Yeah looks like it moved then he had firm control after down then it came out. Definitely don’t see enough to go against ruling on field.
