  1. I imagine he makes more than that. How much more, is the question. Since you seem to know...what does he make?
  2. Well, google has Patterson at $5.1 and Helton at $3.8 (both at private schools), which seems in line with the market. Why would it be so off the mark for Kelly?
  3. Is it possible BK makes more money from some other sources (direct from boosters, etc) given ND is private so that $1.665 million per year number is severely inaccurate? Not sure how all that works, but I seem to remember discussions like that with regard to Patterson at TCU...that what the private schools report and what their coaches really make are two totally different things. If not, is it even feasible for ND to step up and match anything UT could offer? I mean, with fucking mensa making $5.2 million, if I'm Brian Kelly, the conversation has to at least start at, what $8 million? That's a really long way for ND to come up. Not to mention the raise for assistants that would have to be included. Hell, the more I think about this, it might just make too much sense. Shit, BK may even be a better fit than Urban (ducks)...what with academics being a priority and Urban having some controversies and whatnot. Note, I didn't say a better hire, I said a better fit.
  4. I think you may have answered your own question. According to the googles, Kelly makes 1.665 million a year? Can that be right? Fuck that seems low. He's been there for 11 years and just signed a 4 year extension, so I'm guessing if he could have milked more money out of ND, he would have by now. At first blush, I don't know why he'd leave ND to go to Texas, but if the difference in money is somewhere around 4-5x, that could be a pretty easy call for him. Peel back the layers a bit, and Kelly's probably a great fit at UT. Here's a good article about academic recruiting restrictions at ND. I can easily see the UT admin loving that philosophy and sales pitch, with where UT wants to be academically. Only difference being that they don't really have the same restrictions so BK could sprinkle in some higher level recruits who would have never gotten into ND, while still pitching the same opportunities. The more I think about this, the more I think Kelly might be a great plan B to Urban. Maintained 2+ programs, has experience handling high level recruits and player egos, and high level programs, boosters, pressures, etc. Has made some great assistant hires over the years. Isn't an immature jackass who just happens to be the hot flavor of the year. Okay, he hasn't won a National Championship, but nobody we can get who's worth a damn has. So, outside of Urban, I think he'd have to be in the conversation for the obvious first choice. I think I like it.
  5. Mack won 2 conference championships in 16 years.
  6. Have some leftover Christmas ham? Why not make some Carbonara?
  7. Wait...are there people who actually think there’s another option? I thought that was all just people joking around on here.
  8. Well, of course that's the reality as everyone else outside of aggy sees it. But, aggy and reality rarely clash in the same sentence.
  9. As shitty as the UT program is right now, we can at least take some pride in knowing that, had the roles been reversed, we’d be in the playoffs right now
  10. Not going after Campbell because we're not sure if he can handle the spotlight, but hiring Traylor instead might be my favorite take on this whole thread. Dude. Seriously? The "hire Traylor" thing is just "fuck it...let's try something different" for pretty much no money. It's not anyone comparing the two. At first I thought you were just young and naive...we've all been there. Then I thought you were just drunk...also all been there. Now you just seem dumb. Have some more bloodies, buddy.
  11. This is unfortunately 100% accurate. Sadly
  12. First semi-logical post you’ve made in this thread. Must have sobered up? BTW...you were more fun when you were drunk. And don’t ever let anyone tell you differently Yeah, the long and the short of it is that there are a handful of guys who are potentially...possible...maybe the next coming of Jesus-ish guys if given UT’s resources and yada yada yada. Matt Campbell is one of them. Fickell, Hardin, Napier, Franklin, Allen, O’Brien etc...all one of them. And all are probably guaranteed to get maybe one more win than Fuck You Tom Herman? And that’s a big maybe. None are guaranteed or way better than the next. So here we are. And then there’s the big three. And one isn’t coaching right now. Get him. Or if we can’t...fuck if I know
  13. True. I guess so is Clemson. Not sure about tOSU though
  14. Hate to admit it, but aggy is playing much better now than they were when they lost to Bama.
  15. You’re seriously asking for a link/source for an opinion? Your mom’s calling you for dinner. Better head upstairs
  16. The fact that you like to talk out your ass with these broad sweeping extreme claims like a teenage girl a lot. Even in this very response. No, Mullen isn’t “as unrealistic” as Saban or Urban. And no Campbell isn’t the best “by a large margin”. Exaggerating every point you’re trying to make doesn’t make your arguments more compelling, son
  17. You lose a lot of credibility when you mention Mullen in the same sentence as Urban and Saban
  18. This may all be true, but we’re 0-2 on the hot young up and coming name who does more with less and had one good year with a transcendent player and wins some he shouldn’t win while losing some he should win.
  19. He’s Tom Herman at Houston. Or Charlie Strong at Louisville.
  20. Imagine how great he’d be with Texas talent. Imagine how great Charlie strong would have been with Texas talent. Or Tone Herman. Oh wait. speaking of shit takes
