  1. My guess is that’s how it would most likely turn out, with the spoils going to the side with the greater voter turnout. Texas Latinos and younger voters are not there yet.
  2. Much of what’s being written about Tech is self serving media click bait. Listening to what’s coming out of Lubbock, they’re prepared for an onslaughts of media attention they’ve never seen. They’re pretty much saying they expect to win, but if they don’t, they’ll try to figure out why and go at it again. Campbell told a UT troll on X that he wasn’t going anywhere. I guess we’ll see.
  3. Well, they’ve certainly owned the summer news cycle. There’s no doubt they’ll be big the coming season - big good or big bad, They will be big.
  4. The Diocese of San Bernardino is the first in the nation to formally lift the obligation for Catholics to attend Mass in response to immigration detentions on church property. Catholics are usually obligated to go to Mass on Sundays and other holy days. But Bishop Alberto Rojas has paused that requirement in San Bernardino for people who may fear immigration raids. The San Bernardino diocese told the National Catholic Reporter that immigration agents carried out detentions on two of its properties in June. In a letter to his diocese after the detentions, Rojas said such actions are "creating a tremendous amount of fear, confusion and anxiety."

  6. Hold the phone, y’all: A federal judge on Friday found that the Department of Homeland Security has been making stops and arrests in Los Angeles immigration raids without probable cause and ordered the department to stop detaining individuals based solely on race, spoken language or occupation. US District Judge Maame Ewusi-Mensah Frimpong, an appointee of former President Joe Biden, ordered that DHS must develop guidance for officers to determine “reasonable suspicion” outside of the apparent race or ethnicity of a person, the language they speak or their accent, “presence at a particular location” such as a bus stop or their occupation. Friday’s ruling comes after the ACLU of Southern California brought a case against the Trump administration last week on behalf of five people and immigration advocacy groups, alleging that DHS — which oversees Immigration and Customs Enforcement — has made unconstitutional arrests. Frimpong said in his order that the administration “failed” to provide information about the basis on which they made the arrests. “The Court therefore concludes that the Stop/Arrest Plaintiffs have sufficiently shown at this stage a likelihood of success on the question of whether the stops and arrests at issue have been based solely upon the enumerated factors,” Frimpong wrote. Frimpong also ordered DHS to maintain and provide documentation of arrests to plaintiffs’ counsel. CNN has reached out to DHS for comment.
  7. I’ve always thought UT was far more B1G than Sec. Conference full of flagships, AAU members and good to great sports teams. What’s not to like?
  8. There will come a time when Stephen Miller will wish videos like this didn’t exist: https://nurse.org/news/ice-immigration-agents-detain-surgery-center/

  10. Before the fall, this would be an outrage. Now, Americans just shrug and fill up on cheaper gas.

  13. Chuckle. Cody must not understand that all of this mishegoss is not about money. It’s about culture.
  14. I disagree. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-comey-letter-probably-cost-clinton-the-election/
  15. Trump has sic’d. his DOJ on Comey and Brennan. I don’t understand why he’s not grateful to Comey for sabotaging Hillary’s campaign 11 days before the election. I’ll repeat for emphasis. Trump is irredeemably evil: https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-says-brennan-comey-crooked-hell-amid-fbi-probe-may-have-to-pay-the-price Well, I know nothing about it other than what I read today," Trump said. "But I will tell you, I think they're very dishonest people. I think they're crooked as hell. And, maybe they have to pay a price for that." "I believe they are truly bad people and dishonest people," the president added. "So whatever happens, happens." Justice Department sources told Fox News Digital that CIA Director John Ratcliffe referred evidence of wrongdoing by Brennan to FBI Director Kash Patel for potential prosecution. The sources said that Ratcliffe's referral was received and told Fox News Digital that a criminal investigation into Brennan was opened and is underway. DOJ sources declined to provide further details. It is unclear, at this point, if the investigation spans beyond his alleged false statements to Congress. As for Comey, DOJ sources told Fox News Digital that an investigation into the former director is underway, but could not share details of what specifically is being probed.
  16. Why would the Nobel committee be swayed by a war criminal?
  17. This is the second time Whiskey Pete struck out on his own without telling Trump. I believe he thinks he can ignore Trump like the others in this regime and do as he pleases. He can’t, though, because even Trump, being unqualified himself, recognizes that weakness in others. Clearly Trump is not in control: https://kyivindependent.com/hegseth-reportedly-authorized-ukraine-weapons-shipment-pause-without-informing-white-house-06-2025/ Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth authorized a temporary halt to American weapons shipments to Ukraine early in July without notifying the White House, CNN reported on July 8, citing five undisclosed sources. The pause, approved on July 2, affected a package that included Patriot interceptor missiles, 155 mm artillery rounds, Hellfire missiles, Stinger and AIM air-to-air missiles, and other key munitions. Some of the weapons had already reached Poland and were en route to Kyiv when the shipment was stopped, according to NBC News.
  18. I’d like the mineral rights to his face.
  19. All Pam Bondi’s lying today during the Trump adoration session proved is that she, Kristi Noem, Dan Bongino, Alina Habba, Kash Patel and Pete Hegseth are The Deep State. Sad but true.
  20. How long before the UT system is swallowed up into this mess https://www.forbes.com/sites/michaeltnietzel/2025/06/27/public-universities-in-six-southern-states-form-new-accrediting-agency/ Public universities in six southern states have come together to create a new higher education accreditor that will offer an alternative to existing nationally recognized accrediting agenciesoverseeing the nation’s colleges and universities. The formation of the Commission for Public Higher Education was led by a consortium of public universities that includes Texas A&M University, the State University System of Florida, the University System of Georgia, the University of Tennessee System, the University of North Carolina System and the University of South Carolina System. The establishment of the new college accreditor comes partly in response to President Donald Trump’s long-standing and frequent attacks on accreditors and the accreditation process itself. All six of the consortium states voted for Trump in the last presidential election. “When I return to the White House, I will fire the radical Left accreditors that have allowed our colleges to become dominated by Marxist maniacs and lunatics,” Trump said in a July 2023 campaign video. “We will then accept applications for new accreditors who will impose real standards on colleges once again and once and for all,” he added. That order also railed against accreditors setting standards for diversity, equity, and inclusion. And it called for “recognizing new accreditors to increase competition and accountability in promoting high-quality, high-value academic programs focused on student outcomes.” Public universities in those states are currently accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
