  1. So, the shitty piece of wood I have there isn't good?
  2. That's a lot of fucking words for a post with no picture.
  3. A two year old does not respect sunglasses on face, shirt, or head. Everything is fair game to be thrown, eaten, or ripped apart. Hence the need for cheapness at this stage of my sunglasses need. (FWIW, my previous 3 pairs were Raybans and Maui Jims -- I'm not paying that again until I have grown kids) This rec is suspicious. They have been blowing up my facebook page for weeks with this brand. Do you have some and are they legit? I like the idea that they float for the lake
  4. Any good recommendations? I'm tired of buying expensive pairs only to have them ripped off my head by the toddler and broken. 3 criteria the new ones must meet: 1 Polarized 2 Somewhat cheap (probably getting 2 or 3) 3 Comfortable (those 90s neon shades kill my ears)
  5. I dunno. I listed it for $200. I'd do something close
  6. Anyone want to buy a 18" WSM? DFW. Only have top rack
  7. There was a thread on the old site that had some good information regarding custodians, rates, etc. Anyone refi recently that would want to share their rate?
  8. If you're super hardcore I suppose you could use a filter. I just wash, then park the car in the garage to give myself a more time to towel dry.
  9. This makes absolutely no sense to me. I shop insurance companies every year. I've never had to deal w/ my mortgage company once while switching. My agent simply sends them the new provider year over year. I just closed today on a refi, but read this thread too late. When I asked to opt out of escrow this past week, I was told it was too late and they would have to redo paperwork with my rate lock expiring before then. It's almost certain that the lender is going to sell my mortgage before the June 1st payment. When they sell, is that my opportunity to opt out of escrow?
  10. The more foam in you have, the easier it is for dirt, dust, etc, to get suspended and then wash away, which is great if you're doing a contactless maintenance wash. If you're doing a contact wash, it decreases the amount of stuff that can be an abrasive while wiping the vehicle.
  11. We've recently booked a trip w/ 6 other families to go to this beach house in/around Galveston. I haven't been to Galveston in about 25 years and about the same with our fellow travelers. There will be adults and kids from 3 months old to about 5/6 years old. What are some good things to do in/around that house? Any decent places to get a bite? I'm not sure if we're planning on having all meals at the house or if we're going to have a night out. Is there a grocery store nearby or should we plan to arrive with all groceries in hand?
  12. Washed the wife's car today. First picture is products used. Washed w/ Chemical Guys Snow Foam Honeydew....smells awesome by the way Iron X over the wheels Clayed with Wolfgang rinseless wash (0.25 oz in distilled water spray bottle) Wheels -- Mean Green degreaser w/ the Meguires Hot Shine (not a huge fan) Minor paint correction w/ Chemical Guys VSS with orange pad Buffed on/off Ultimate Fast Finish sealant Mother's Back to Black trim dressing (not a fan) Vacuumed car Armor All Glass Cleaner Armor All FreshFX Looks pretty damn good. Maybe I'll get a beej. Probably not
  13. I've heard of this technique but also read that WD-40 can "soften" the paint which can lead to marring if there is any physical touching of the car. Obviously, I don't think that would be an issue if you're doing contactless wash right after.
  14. Pretty good write-up. Who are you following on Youtube? I like Pan the Organizer and Dallas Paint Correction (on x2 speed, b/c he fumbles around a lot). Carguys videos are ok but they're moreso just to pimp-out their stuff
  15. Hilarious. I grew up in Bedford. Place turned into a complete dump years after I graduated and we have just moved my folks out of there to prosper this year. AND NOW they open a fucking kickass brewery...in the old #1 Fun Street building of all places. I have no reason to go back to Bedford, but damn if this place doesn't tempt me
  16. Foam cannon is worth it. I like a mix of Meguire's and Car Guys. The Meguire's fast finish is legit
  17. Man, I don't know the answer to this but I'm dealing w a similar idiocy. (No derail) My recently forced retired dad is making some of the dumbest decisions I've ever seen him make in my life (an otherwise very reasonable man throughout my life). I don't know of it's dementia, medications, stress, some mixture of the precious, or something else. It's incredible frustrating to watch him make the same mistakes for the past 3 months. His drinking has increased to the point where my mom is this close to walking out on him after 40 something years.
  18. Well, I used SW Resilience. Really the only reason I chose that was b/c the guy said it was the only one that they had in quarts. I added some flotrel (sp?) to it and just brushed it on w/ 3 coats. I'm very happy with the turnout, really. If anything, I wish it took 1 coat less. I'll post pics at some point if I can remember
  19. Well, shit. I need to fix something bc I owe $6k this year on taxes.
  20. In the market for a used bike computer. PM if you're selling
