  1. I dont want to convert to complete spray foam insulation. Way too pricey and I dont think I would stay here long enough to make some money back. When I said foam insulation earlier, I meant foam board insulation.
  2. In doing various DIY project throughout my house, I've discovered cost-cutting/lazy work in certain areas. I've addressed quite a few of them and I'm finally at a point (climate wise) where I can comfortable address this one. There is a large attic space above my garage where the joists run across it into the house. The problem I discovered is that there is no air block/barrier that is separating the unconditioned (at times, superheated) attic space from the joists into the house, above my office and below my gameroom. It is of no coincidence that these are the absolute worst areas cooling/heating wise. Below are a few pictures, there are probably 20 joists (10 or so gaps) where all the constructure workers did was stuff about 2 feet of batts. Remove the batts, and that is what you see. The gaps vary of having some ductwork in/crossing them or, sometimes, absolutely nothing but a back wall. I figure I have 2 approaches, buy some blow in insulation and fill these large gaps with the product or purchase some 2" rigid foam board to seal up the gaps. Is any method better than the other R-value/efficiency-wise? Any other factors or options to consider?
  3. Basically a direct to consumer Invisalign. Had anyone had any experience with the company and the product?
  4. Bingo. If it ain't on the calendar, it doesn't exist. I've gotten my wife trained so well on it that if I happen to forget something, I'm screwed. We used google calendar and have 3-4 color coated calendar for each of us, daughter, etc.
  5. Surprised this topic made it here. Glad to see my profession got a little bit of love (guy showing the words to the patient), even if it is a shitty competitor. I trained with Dr. Patel many years ago, great surgeon. I'm not too familiar with his colleagues performing the procedure but it appears they did a good job. I was surprised they actually broadcast the procedure until I saw that it was a venous malformation that appeared to be somewhat superficial. Overall, a pretty "low risk" brain surgery
  6. I'm not cutting meat out completely but am cutting back. I've had some heart issues at age 34, so it's a bit of a wakeup call for me to quit eating fast food, steaks, burgers, fried food, etc all the damn time. I'd call my approach "lazy vegetarian" as I'm still mixing in some meat when appropriate and not utilizing tempeh or tofu. Some really good meals that I've made lately, veggie baked ziti (recipes and boobz to follow), pinto bean pozole (really good with a smoked hock floating then removed), 3 bean "chili". Also, I would recommend the cookbook "Eat Like You Give a Fuck". It's got some pretty good recipes in there
  7. I bought a whole brisket and split the 2 muscles. Flat was cut up for chili and I've frozen the point for burnt ends
  8. Just refinanced 3.95% with Sofi for 7 years.
  9. I, too, am white with an Asian wife. I'd lose my fucking shit. What city/town? I would get cameras and file police reports. Start questioning neighbors to see if they saw anything and just gauge their overall demeanor. And gtfo that shithole
  10. I guess another question is whether or not it takes a few days/weeks for the rate decrease to trickle down to the lenders?
  11. I'm back looking with the rate drop last week. Anyone refi lately?
  12. Damn. What was the original procedure?
  13. I feel like I just saw this picture on Facebook or Instagram or something. Which suggests we might know each other....
  14. This is actually the smoker I'm looking at buying. Pricey, but I dig being able to throw something on, go to work and monitor from my phone. As far as babysitting with beer, I'll never tell my wife that it's easier.
  15. Thanks guys. Any advice from the process? Anything would avoid doing again or revisit?
  16. Mid treatment right now for a mosaic wart that I've had for years and just go annoyed enough recently to remove it. This has been maybe 2 weeks. Doesn't hurt other than the initial dull stinging when applying the ointment on the raw pink skin. It's not very slightly for the face, but I originally used it for one on my finger.
  17. How do folks feel about pellet smokers? (Already got 2 WSM)
  18. Do dealers take credit cards these days? I guess you need one to set up venmo...
  19. PSVue seems to have gone down hill over the past year. I have it on every TV (via Fire stick or the like). My main TV and only the main has been buggy as hell with Vue. I'll start it up, go to the guide and after a few second, the guide disappears. It's a frustrating game of going back and forth to get the guide back and select programming. I've tried removing and reinstalling vue with no improvement. Anyone else had this issue? It's only on this one TV that where it's a major problem.
