  1. It’s hilarious because said “President” holds more respect for China than his own Fed Chair.
  2. The fact that Tahoe’s #1 is described as only possible with the repeal is his clever backhanded commentary on the general issue of whether effective gun control is possible. Also, I love that #4 is all that’s left. This ignores the Dems trying to pass a somewhat controversial background check that was killed by republicans. It also ignores that the GOP is ALL about the super-awesome “thoughts and prayers” answer to the problem. * Extra credit: The Dems *can’t* do anything at all because they don’t have the Senate.
  3. I like it, but I’m still in love with #Brokeahontas
  4. Supplements are out of their purview. John Oliver has a great episode about pseudo medicine and supplements. Fuck Dr. Oz, by the way.
  5. News flash: The prison/jail system is a failure at every level, amd made up of really incompetent and unmotivated people.
  6. #liberalcabal
  7. The policy in question was never a matter of someone “using a financial advisor”. I’ve represented a shit ton of people with Payee requirements. Not one of them should be armed. I will say though, that there needs to be a somewhat more formal process above a mere agency staff level decision.
  8. Nearly you haven’t been to all of those “no-go zones” I keep hearing about.
  9. LOL. I get a few of those cases every year, if not more.
  10. I wonder why Obama didn’t “do anything” to deal with mass shootings... Except the background check legislation blocked by the GOP despite wide popular support. * And the mental health refs related to guns that Trump removed once in office.
  11. The restrictions apply to everyone. When did this “new rule” start? Wouldn’t it also silence the “libs”? Also, maybe, just maybe, comments get disabled ALL OVER THE INTERNET once shit crosses some pretty simple lines. But by all means, keep playing the victim card. Bless your heart.
  12. The distinction is that Trump is President so he has a duty to not violate the 1st Amendment. Twitter is just a company, as other have pointed out. I agree though that he won’t get banned from twitter, but it won’t be litigation fears that cause them to back down.
  13. Regarding the new “suggestion that an executive agency propose a law, to then go to Congress” involving the death penalty: Ummm...the vast majority of these shooters die while committing these atrocities. Potential murderers are aware and accept death as a consequence. I mean, most people would assume the death penalty was already the punishment for these acts.
  14. Of course they CAN be taxed, but there is a line at which the tax becomes infringement. ETA: There already is a separate additional federal tax on firearms/ammo sales. It’s the “tax the F out of them” that becomes an issue at some point. Where the line is, who knows?
  15. Of course they CAN be taxed, but there is a line at which the tax becomes infringement.
  16. I mean, first of all, Chicago’s murder rate, per capita, in 2018 ranked 25th. Also, I don’t believe that the killers in Chicago recently left racist, xenophobic manifestos which mirrored the rhetoric of a significant political faction of the country. There was a drive by in Cedar Park last night, yet NOTHING on CNN...no shit.
  17. Basically all rights can be regulated but not prohibited, so that’s not a distinction. I’m bailing on this now though before I end up getting a bunch of green rep from posters I generally loathe.
  18. The answer is that your FB friend is a dumb motherfucker.
  19. Look man, I’m on “your side”, but you can’t use a heavy tax to make an end run around the Constitution. “Poll tax out front should have told ya.”
  20. That and it ignores the whole “racists love trump” concept that is, in and of itself, telling.
  21. True, but generally, cartels prefer to drag their murder/violent activities back into Juarez, instead of anywhere on the US side. It’s unnecessary risk for them, regardless of any leadership vacuum (which is definitely a thing).
  22. Wait. In this, the AOC thread, you make a post that consists of zero content other than a tweet about someone else getting a divorce? Ok. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Yes, because currently, you can meme your way into office at any level.
  24. Did that article mention ANYTHING that could be construed as some basis for calling Cummings a racist? I didn’t see it, but I must be wrong because if I’m right, that would mean that EMAW made some bullshit non-responsive troll post that added nothing to the discussion. Surely that can’t be the case.
  25. Wait. Next you’re going to tell me that Donald Sterling was racist too?!?!
