  1. Hey, it's the other stupid ass thing about Texas fans. I can't refute what you are saying, so I'll call it aggy. That'll get me an internet win! Sam put the team in position to score in half our drives, That's a fact. 1st drive 11 plays 37 yds punt 2nd drive 11 plays 89 yds TD 3rd drive 13 plays 53 yds FG 4th drive 3 plays -13 yds punt 5th drive 4 plays 23 yds punt 6th drive 11 plays 57 yds missed FG 7th drive 6 plays 28 yds punt 8th drive 10 plays 36 yds End of Game Nothing spectacular by any means considering the opponent, but for context, the 2016 Atlanta Falcons scored on 52 percent of their drives. An all time NFL offense. It was a typical mediocre Texas offensive day.
  2. BOB thinks James Franklin called a good play last night.
  3. He led 4 drives out of 8 that field position indicates should be a scoring drive. Taking a knee and missing FG's are outside his control. Shitty passes aren't and we should have had more success obviously. However, he didn't play any better or worse yesterday than he had the 3 prior weeks.
  4. You're correct in why he is defended. I'm not even arguing the points you've made today, and despite what you think, I wasn't referring to you specifically. Except the really really want to be correct part. That's for sure you. I dig you man, you keep things interesting.
  5. In 8 drives, Sam led 4 that were scoring drives. One miss FG and another kneel down to close it out in scoring position aren't his fault. He is a mediocre passer, he has a history of bad decision making, and I admit I wanted Shane to start after Maryland. But he's played better football the last 4 weeks than at any point in his career. It's a weird time for this thread to take off like it has. Just shows how bad people really really want to be right on the internet. Both sides of the argument have gone off the rails with hyperbole, per usual. Which is why I love this website. It's not a negative, it's entertaining.
  6. This is a total fucking Bill Snyder game. I can't wait for that old fucker to retire. He's made Herman his bitch the entire 2nd half.
  7. I'm not gonna lie, I don't want Shack back in the starting lineup. Rodriguez is the better center. Kerstetter is better at guard than tackle too. Cosmi shouldn't be leaving the lineup regardless, he looks like the read deal. So if Shack is inserted, Rodriguez or Kerstetter better be going to the bench.
  8. I'm with you, if he's so fucking smart that he can recognize said coverages and dumb ass reporters can't, why the fuck didn't we adjust and take advantage? It's like he wants us to believe other teams run these defensive schemes that are impossible to score on. If that's the case, we should run those schemes too dumb ass.
  9. I'm still not sold on Tim Beck and Tom Herman can say whatever he wants, but we all know Tim Beck is calling plays and the play caller does matter. What I am willing to do, is give Tim Beck a chance to show improvement. We don't really have any other choice as fans so there is no reason to stress about it until Maryland gives us a reason to. The decision was made to keep him, all we can do is see if Herman screwed up royally or not. One thing we do know, when Herman was calling plays in the bowl game, things weren't any better. So either Herman sucks too, or maybe we just didn't have the ability to run a good offense last year. Even a guy like the pirate has turned out mediocre to bad offenses over the years because his team just wasn't good from an offensive talent standpoint. I would like to believe Texas should never have such a lack of talent it's impossible to be good on one side of the ball, but I apparently it's harder than it looks. Even with all our advantages. Shows just how thin the margin of error is between winning and losing football. Glad I'm not in coaching, it's a tough job to do well.
  10. That is not how the law works in regards to the charges on Zach Smith. A cop has no legal right to tell anyone they can't go to someone's home/business, unless the home/business owner request the police to do so. Well I guess they could, but it would not result in a criminal trespass arrest/summons. The angry police officer would have to find something else to arrest them for. It's cool you are trying to buy points with your "police power trip" rant, but this isn't the bernard forum from the Shaggy days. Nobody gives a shit about your opinion about police on this matter. It's irrelevant to the story. Also, show me the court order that says he can only drop the kids off at the house and I'll admit you are correct. If that language is not there, you are throwing a big old fat red herring to explain away the unexplainable. If Courtney says she doesn't want Zach at her home, has the police advise this in writing, and he shows up anyway, he broke the law. Plain and simple. You can disagree with her decision to tell him not to come, but that really doesn't matter does it? Courtney has the absolute right to feel secure in her home and not be hassled by someone she is afraid of. It doesn't matter that she fucked up and had kids with the person. That doesn't give the father of the kid free access to her property against her will. You are coming off like a real asshole who likes to victim blame over fucking sports. At the end of the day, sports are just entertainment. It's nonsensical to automatically assume Courtney is full of shit because some Ohio St homer blogger got her estranged mother to go on record. McMurphy has shown hard evidence, the other side has just shown personal attacks on the victim. You tell me which one is usually on the right side things when it all plays out.
  11. He was given a criminal trespass warning and violated it. He admitted he violated it, he admitted Courtney told him not to come to her house to drop off the kid, he went anyway. She took a picture of him at the house. Where are you getting this "cop told him something and he didn't listen" crap from? Cops can't give people criminal trespass warnings without a request from the home/business owner. I've also never seen a court order that said the kids have to be dropped off at the home only.
  12. But Urban Meyer needs to be cleared yesterday? Go Buckeyes! Fuck Texas and their domestic violence victim supporting asshole of a coach! Amirite?
  13. Dumb, his ass is gonna get scooped holding the interview like that.
  14. Secondary on Tyler Johnson, Javonne Shepherd, Peter Mpagi, and Tvondre Sweat. Not primary on anybody yet. Who knows how much those 4 were him vs Primary recruiter.
  15. I don't understand what Giles problem is these days, but he needs to get back to his early recruiting roots. He's been lead recruiter on 24 composite 300 players in his coaching career. Of that, 10 were top 100 players and 3 were top 10 (Jeffcoat, Oliver, and Brown). He needs to get back to that shit or we need to do something different. He use to be at least average as a recruiter. It's pretty obvious there is a disconnect at the moment in state.
  16. Devo has way more upside than Harris. Harris is perfectly fine to be a 6th or 7th inning guy on a championship team. He did it last year perfectly fine and was even an all star a couple years ago. However, Devo has late inning stuff. When his changeup is on, he can be a bonafide setup guy. IMO, Peacock is the guy I've been most disappointed in. He was fucking nails last year whether starting or in the bullpen. He's just been average this year. I honestly love our pitching staff if wife beater locks down the 9th. No real weakness.
  17. I don't understand why we don't put Kemp in the leadoff position until Altuve and Correa get back. Batting Bregman 3 and Springer 4 would change the entire dynamic of the lineup IMO. 1. Kemp 2B 2. Reddick RF 3. Bregman 3B 4. Springer CF 5. Gurriel 1B 6. Gattis DH 7. Gonzales SS 8. Stassi C 9. Tucker LF That would be my lineup for RHP at least. I don't get what Hinch was doing the last few games with the lineup. It's easy to pitch around our few dangerous hitters to get to our AAA rejects.
  18. I've been impressed watching Maldonado the last two years for the Angels defensively. Really good arm. I'm skeptical of his bat, but he's a catcher. Not too many hitting catchers around anymore. I like the move as insurance for McCann.
  19. This looks really familiar...When pitchers struggle with the shift, they aren't hitting their locations typically. The shift is combined with pitching a certain way. Or else major league batters will take advantage. All of them are capable of hitting soft grounders pretty much where they want to if you don't pitch them correctly.
  20. He had a good year last year before the playoffs but has been pretty mediocre to bad the rest of his time in Houston. ERA's over 4 his other two seasons and a complete meltdown in the playoffs. He's earned some fan push back because that's the only way you let the team leaders know this shit isn't acceptable. They gave up quite a bit (at the time) to get him and he hasn't performed. Despite that, they kept running him out there in high leverage situations. I don't care what the stats say, those of us who watch almost daily know what our eyes see and obviously the front office sees it too.
  21. Damn, Verlander can't catch a break this year.
