  1. Because the MAC sucks and provides less exposure than an independent schedule would? I'm sure they'd take being in the American for football-only, but I don't think that offer has ever been extended.
  2. It was great (aside from the ass kicking). Definitely the best basketball experience I've ever been a part of. Really cool history and aside from a hand full of Horns down, fans mostly polite and welcoming. No confrontations whatsoever. Reminded me a lot of the Notre Dame football game in '15. I knew we had a down year then, but didn't want to miss would could've been my last chance to see us play at an iconic location. I won't be in a hurry to see us at Rupp until this program gets its shit together.
  3. I'm going to tomorrow's game in Lawrence. Anyone who's been there have any touristy or food/drink recs out there?
  4. I would love to see a sequel, but it's been a while, and it doesn't seem like one's coming.
  5. This program would be better off had we lost last year in the 2nd round.
  6. We must not tolerate this second northern aggression!!!
  7. Ooh, I'll play. Using March Madness regional names... WEST Pacific: Arizona Arizona St. Cal Oregon Stanford UCLA USC Washington Heartland: BYU Colorado Iowa St. Kansas Kansas St. Mizzou Nebraska Utah SOUTH Southwest: Arkansas Baylor Oklahoma Oklahoma St. TCU Texas Texas A&M Texas Tech Southeastern: Alabama Auburn Kentucky LSU Miss. St. Ole Miss Tennessee Vandy MIDWEST Leaders: Illinois Indiana Iowa Minnesota Northwestern Notre Dame Purdue Wisconsin Legends: Maryland Michigan Michigan St. Ohio St. Penn St. Pitt Rutgers Syracuse EAST Atlantic: Clemson Florida Florida St. Georgia Georgia Tech Miami South Carolina N.C. State Appalachian: Boston College Duke Louisville North Carolina Virginia Virginia Tech Wake Forest West Virginia You're welcome, College Football.
  8. With Philly's loss to Seattle, who has the tiebreaker for the division title if we both win out?
  9. With the exception of the usually-irrelevant Egg Bowl, I think college football has now fully surrendered Thanksgiving Day (and night) to the NFL.
  10. So… we can turn our beds into bunkbeds… ?
  11. Serious question: what would/could Switzerland do if France or any other country decided to ship Swiss-made guns/munitions to Ukraine?
  12. I would too. Bama's permanent three should be more like Auburn, Tennessee, and Miss. State instead.
  13. This is the correct answer. Houston kinda gets screwed, but they're lucky to have a seat to begin with. Plus, they only joined the SWC in the '70s.
  14. Bottoms. A teen sex comedy geared toward much more toward girls and folks in the LGBTQetc community (so I'm not exactly in their target demo), but the absurd plot and well-timed one-liners had me laughing out loud several different times.
  15. Hopefully this won't affect their rivalry game with Monitor.
  16. Why didn't the Arizona schools and Utah simply vote to dissolve the conference before announcing their jump to the Big 12? Seems like they could have had access to the Pac-12's remaining assets if they had done that first.
  17. Does this move still work? I utilized this method a few times in the aughts, but feel like they've replaced the laid-back, older ticket-takers with teens who are scared of getting into trouble.
  18. Our kids are still several years away from having to make this decision, but the wife and I were casually talking about this the other day. I'd love for my kids to be 4th generation Longhorns, but also wouldn't mind for a moment (except perhaps financially) if they chose an elite school like one in the Ivy League, Stanford, Rice, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, etc. Wife went to A&M so she'd definitely be fine with them picking A&M, too, but recognizes that UT is more highly rated. The concern we'd have is if they couldn't get into one of the elites or either of our alma maters. What's next? (Btw, not meaning to offend anyone on here.) SMU/TCU - Both (but especially SMU) are extremely close to us in proximity, so not sure they'd get a full college experience being so close to home. Also not sure the bang for the buck is worth it. Baylor - Expensive and strong on religion that isn't our own. UTD - Also very close to home and seems to lack any traditional college atmosphere whatsoever. Would be great for STEM but would seem boring AF. Houston - I don't know a ton about UofH. I feel like it has improved, but is it still largely a commuter school? Also, are you locking yourself into to only Houston-area positions for job prospects? Tech - The next largest "name brand" state school after UT & A&M with most of which comes with being a big Texas school, but it's still waaaay down in the rankings. Appears to have a decent network throughout most of the state, but Lubbock sucks. Generic SEC state school - Would be at a flagship school in a somewhat neighboring state, but generally poorly rated. UNT/TxSt/SH/SFA/Tarleton - Similar to Tech, aside from being in a better location than Lubbock, but also worse in the rankings. If mine couldn't get into an elite school not named UT, I think I'd encourage them to keep their nose in a book for a year at UTA before being able to transfer to UT.
  19. Seems like a fuckload of conjecture without any basis in reporting or fact.
